Both Saltanat and Kainat equate completely as the true likeness of each other.But for Zaroon there exists a variance in the kind of person both are. All know who Zaroon came for and whohe ultimately choses and rejects. The episode shows variables in what wasplanned and calculated, but the net result and outcome shows that there exists errorin judgement in reasoning. Even the best of schemes fail and dreams shatterlike broken glass!
There was reason enough to conclude that Humza would say no to the engagement and Kainat could then stand a fair chance of being paired up with Zaroon.There were many who held this belief, Saltanat, Zainab , Neelam and above all Kainat. But all realize they made an error of judgement in their perception of the other person. Zainab, equated all what she soughtfor her daughter Kainat, would be acquired by Saltanat’s assistance. But things didn’t turn up the way they were planned. Zainab, clearly felt that Saltanat mayhave changed the equation as her own feelings for Zaroon might have got in theway.
But the scene between them shows a traumatized Saltanat justifying herself that it was not her at fault but Kainat herself. Kainat herself overturned every action that Saltanat took to bring her closer to Zaroon. Seems that Kainat turns out to be herown enemy..
It is interesting to see that Kainat’spersonal equation, gives her a personalbias towards , Saltanat in particular. All her cousins efforts in her case e.gmakeover makes Kainat suspicion of her, besides she can clearly see how Zaroon equateshimself with Saltanat. To trust Saltanat, no matter how sincere she appears is hardfor Kainat.
After her engagement to Humza just happens! Kainat is devastated and predominately takes out her fury at god ,destiny. Broken downshe questions too her firm belief in the justice of god, crumpled on the floor in an almost foetal position where she moans about her error of judgement where she put her trust in god. But sees not getting Zaroon, as a gross imbalance in her life. Even after being betrothed to Humzanow, she still hangs on to her personal equation, which remains constant, that Zaroon belongs to her, he was born to be hers!
The odd thing is Kainat maintains the balance of being the obedient daughter, who even walks half dead into a lovelessmarriage for the sake of family honour! Notice she was first given the ring toput upon Humza’s finger.. when he complies, she too shows no signs of resistance ! Kainat’s timidity, or was it her faith in some miracle to happen that kept her lips sealed?
No wonder Saltanat feels cheated, about how hard and sincerely she tried to stop this engagement from happening , but in this case Saltanat’s personal equation fails to make her see what could happen?? that reasoning which seemed foul proof could back fire! i.e Humza going ahead !instead of refusing, and worse still Kainat too accepting the alliance.
Why did Kainat mutely go along with the whole act? Was it for the sake of family values? Or was it to prove to the whole world, watch how her god will pull her out of this situation as well! to show all that is Zaroon is made and meant for her then no fetters of any commitments with another ,other than Zaroon can imprison her.
What manner of love is this that gives her liberty to make allowances, to deal with every variance that comes in her life ?
Mind you Kainat is not the only one who adjusts differences to strike a balance to get what the heart desires. Zaroon too,dreams and desires himself and Saltanat in place of Humza and Kainat. In facthe even ends up proposing on one knee, even slips a ring on her finger!
Zaroon’s personal bias towards Saltanat,washes out all the good turns Saltanat is doing for her sister! In all earnestness the last thing Saltanat wants from Zaroon is a potential engagement ring on her finger. Her struggle to wrench it off her finger, is as tight as the noose of guilt she carries around her heart ! For not just failing Kainat, but falling short of Zainab’s love too. Zaroon as an outsider, perhaps fails to grasp how close knit this joint family is, despite any variables that crop up between them.
The equation that Saltanat’s love for Zainab is constant. But now with Kainat’s engagement going ahead, and her mock engagement to Zaroon , both create a fissure between the two. Most unpleasant, who knows even dangerous variables crop up between Saltanat, and this hopeless ,helpless mother who cries what will become of her Kainat now?
Well another equation that was constant, is that Kainat is a staid, disciplined and rooted young girl. But who knows, soon may end up as a changing equation. As recent variables in an equation, that Saltanat and Zainab did not expect ever to happen in their lives, will now waver and fluctuate the consistency of Shah mansion.. this engagement is going to open a can of worms! More schemes to dissolve it, may come into play ! 22.5.19 Hamlet53
Helly Shah both as Saltanat and Kainat rules the episode. Fine actor she is, how she brings to life two variable characters sharing the same face!
