Totally agree. Haven't washed dishes in 22 years of marriage. Thanks to my Sameer. Hope the YUDKBH Sameer is true to his words. But seeing Mami's entry again gives negative vibes.

We never had househelp and I Live in India only. My dad does all the sink cleaning work and my mom does the dishes. Me and my sister do the dishes and infact even cleaning of washrooms by taking turns now that we are grown ups .
We were taught cooking and cleaning at 13 as my mom was pursuing her MPhil that time .all my uncles and ciusins too do half their house work and it has been like that as long as I remeberr .
It wasnt this way during my grandparents tkme because both maternal and paternal grandfathers would take care of outside works and their wives the household chores but they did teach everything to their sons and daughters equally and it has been like that in my family .in most orthodox families men know how to cook and clean since women are made to sit separately during their periods thus giving them complete rest for 5 days

I tell him the same thing... never ever imagined becoming a kaamwali bai one day šŸ˜† however I do agree with the other point of view as well, I feel really independent and now at times when I visit India and people around me are dependent on help I feel it's easier to do it myself and I end up doing it.
Also my respect for domestic help in India has increased- we always treat them with respect but now I have realized how much more valuable they are šŸ˜†

Well , when I heard that statement . I felt because of his lethargic and easy going attitude she will have to do all that more as they might face financial issues. That's when it will hit him hard. That statement made it clear what his intentions are for future but then to get there he needs to put effort. In fact Naina's next statement was kuch hasil karne keliye mehanath karna hain.

Then coming to all our lives. I believe every individual irrespective of the gender need to know how to cook, clean , wash and earn. And let me tell you when both the couples are professionals and living in a nuclear family the lady cant do it all, she is not a super woman, she is as human as a man. So there will be division of responsibilities. There is no harm in doing household chores by both. In todays world if a woman can earn then a man should know how to take care of the house too. Now things have changed Men of today are smart they handle home and kids just like us women. Woman on the other hand are doing quiet well in the professional world earning as much as men do...so things are changing a lot...

But we might not get to see this in our show as its from 90s. So her struggles might be what awakens him from his easy and lazy attitude .
