I think there's ignorance regarding the origin of that song. Though not that huge, reservation against that song does exist. Recently, the BJP released a parody of the Gully Boy azadi song ridiculing the Congress party to which the latter responded with its own version and turned the whole thing into a hilarious video war. 😆 Parodies have overtaken the song and there's little room for anything else.
