1) he is not taking his feelings seriously.

2) For him these are 1 sided he doesn't know the feelings of other.

3) He has no fear that he will loose Pre (as for him Pre is his best friend and she considers him best friend)

4) He has just reached love stage not thornbird stage that he can do anything to be with her (He can do anything to protect her had reached in Nav stage but living with her was not important)

So right now fulfilling his mother's wishes by doing engagement with mishika is easy like doing a arranged marriage with parent's choice and fulfilling it and doesn't have life threatening affects at the moment.

Ideally Mishika ko usse khud pehle mana karna chahiye tha office realisation ke baad as if not love for prerna but yeh to samajh hi sakta tha that he feels nothing absolutely nothing for Mishika 😆. He is doing the same with her what she did with him and other person whom she was about to marry.

But agar us trip and fall ke baad bhi Mishika goes through this engagement that this will also prove she is also blind as she left 2 men in alter because she felt she love the other one so she should understand the feeling of love and understand a man who can leave the engagement in middle to protect other girl will never keeps her happy and frankly she should back down to save herself from further humiliation.
