tbh i think slb is one of the best music directors, the music he has composed is outstanding, and he is one of the few music directors nowadays that uses traditional instruments that we dont hear alot these days

also the songs he has made hav such range, from a masala high energy number like tattad tattad to a traditional slow love song like laal ishq

I agree that he is underrated as a composer but he also has a tendency to get repetitive.

This is the first song he composed, possibly the best song from Saawariya IMO.

oh he composed this aswell? its a beautiful song, i say he is underrated coz people mostly talk about him as a director and not as music composer, he shud get more appreciation for it tbh

Yes this was the first time he composed a song for his film. All the other songs in Saawariya were by Monty Sharma. With Guzaarish he turned a full time music director.

I find him the worst of all. Clearly inspired by Ismail Darbar. Repetitive as hell. Laal Ishq is what it is because of Arijit Singh.

He copied nainowale ne from.an old song...i remember that. Khalibali and malhari were very similar.

I really liked ghoomar and binte dil.

I do not think he is over or under rated. He is rated exactly as he deserves.

Acc. to him, his inspiration is one and only RD Burman, not just for music, but also for films - the perfection and all.
