A DREAM LONG LOST
Chapter 1.
Ki'kiiii'kiiiii'the alarm started ringing as it hit 5:00AM. Bani moved her hand to the button and switched it off, taking the clock in her hand she reset it to 5:15AM and went back to sleep, happy to get 15 more minutes of sleep. The 5-10-15 minutes process continued till 5:45AM.... with a tired and sleepy face she went to bathroom and mechanically started washing her face and brushing her teeth. Tying her messed hair neatly into a pony she preceded towards the kitchen with her science notes.
Putting on the gas flame she started preparing some black coffee to keep her awake'.with the coffee all ready she poured it into a glass and headed towards the balcony. Keeping her steaming coffee on the side table, she settled down on her comfy chair with the notes in her hand. She looked down from the balcony and saw few people in their track suits getting warmed up'.some jogging, some excising and other just walking. Their small town Lovenagar (don't even ask where that is😆) looked even more lovely as the sun slowly started to brighten the atmosphere. The morning breeze and its freshness definitely made her feel more charged up for the day.
Taking a sip of her coffee, she took her notes and started reading them, making small notes in the corner.

She didn't have any doubt to recognize who was singing and dancing along the lyrics of that song'. 'Oh God that girl is completely mad' Bani muttered under her breath smiling'. 'Rano, switch that music off' she heard Rano's mother shouting from their kitchen''she watched Rano make a face and switch the tape off.

'Rano''.Ranoooooooo' Bani shouted standing outside Rano's house. Bani and Rano were childhood friends. From kindergarten, they have been together plus being neighbors had also brought them very close to each other.
'Coming'.coming' Rano said putting her textbooks in her bag and quickly hugging her mother.
'If I miss the bus today'. I am going to kill you Rano' Bani said walking fast to the bus stop.
Rano didn't say anything, well it was of no use Bani would definitely start her lecture again, so it was better to stay quiet she thought walking along with Bani.
With a pee'pee'sound their bus arrived just in time they reached the bus stop.

'How did the exam go' Rano asked Bani as they settled under a tree for their lunch.
Bani: Not bad'what about you.
Rano: You know that 4th easy question'..I am sure I am getting a zero for that one...
Bani: This is what happens if you go '.jhoom barabar jhoom in the morning'.
Rano (upset): That was only for 5 minutes'. Plus it was AB's song'.she said getting all dreamy.
Bani (rolling her eyes): That question was worth 15 points, tell AB to come and grade your paper.
Rano: I wish he did'..she said going back to her dreamland. Bani just shook her head; there was no point talking to her.

'Ye dekhiye Kiran ji'.. his name is Prashant, has his own super market in Delhi.... that too in the city, has one sister but she is married off'..Kiran Dixit took the photo of the boy in her hand.
'Any more Joshi' Nishikant Dixit asked the broker.
' Hmmm let me see'..he looked through his small bag''yes'yes' here (handing the photo to the couple)'.his name is Rakesh, a clerk in a bank, has two brothers, elder brother is in Kuwait'married, Rakesh is the middle one, then younger one is studying'
'Not bad na' Kiran said showing the photo to her husband.
'Hmmm' he said inspecting the photo.
'How much are they asking' Nishikant asked looking at the broker.
'See I did tell them about your financial conditions, and also.. that the girl looks beautiful and is studying'.but they want 5 lakhs and''' the broker stopped seeing Bani enter the house.
'Arre Bani, idher aao beta' Kiran said looking at her daughter.
Giving an angry glare at her parents and the broker she stormed to her room.

Throwing her bag and books on the table she threw herself on the bed. She just hated her life and mostly her parents for doing this to her.
'Bani' Kiran called walking into her daughter's room'..Hearing her mothers voice she turned her face to the other side. Kiran signed and sat next to her grumpy daughter.
'Beta''' 'Don't even start ma'.' Bani said sitting up on her bed and angrily wiping her tears away. How many times have I told you and papa that I don't want to get married now? I want to finish my studies, get a job, settle in life'..
'That's alright beta, you can do that even after getting married' Kiran tired to justify with her daughter.
'After marriage none of this is possible'. I will be sitting at home, serving my saas and husband, trying to be the perfect bahu and wife' Bani fought back.
'Beta, why do have such false conceptions that is not always true'.many girl's finish their education after marriage''
'But I want to finish it and then get married''
'Beta'.
'Kiran, leave it. I don't think we need to give an explanation for everything thing we do. One if she is intelligent enough she will understand us' Nishikant said in a stern voice'..
'Papa''
'I don't have time for your nonsense'.. Kiran get the dinner ready'
'Ji' she muttered softly and left the room.
Bani with her tearful eyes looked at her father. 'If I decide something, I don't want to hear a word against it in my house'.do you understand' he said strictly before leaving her room. Throwing herself back on the pillow she wept.
