OK so I saw many posts against Chachaji n how the character is getting ruined but in my POV he is still the same as he was since the beginning

Just bevbecaa person is forward thinking doesn't mean that s/he needs to be person with mentality of today's your

youth

He wants his daughters to be educated and self dependant but that no where means he would accept the love marriage of his daughter that was a very big thing to even think for the parents in nineties or even 2000s. My best friend from college got into a love marriage in 2012 n she didn't tell anyone including her own Chacha chachi that it was a love marriage. Her parents somehow agreed after 5 years of persuasion. Even my parents always asked me to have some distance with her as they knew she had an affair and I have studied in an engineering college living in a hostel

Now coming to chachaji he has always been a forward thinking man but never a guy without some kind of male ego or strict adherence to discipline. People are saying about his reaction to Bela when she blurted out about Rakesh money thing but even earlier he not for once stopped Bela for hitting Naina for the haircut, was that such a big crime to get slapped repeatedly it was a simple shift from the discipline. He always said that Naina would never do anything like Swati which according to him was a bad thing to do n he couldn't think anything of this sort happening to him n this came as a shocker plus the feeling that Sharad rishta was broken because of Sameer is like a crime committed

I have seen a trend in all the shows that the moment a character goes against the lead character it is believed that his her character has been ruined, but although you see the character as per the lines of the story, in reality s/he is a character in itself and has his own set of reactions to a situation, love and anger and not the only two reactions you could accept out of side characters

Can't agree more..

I think we keep forgetting that these are characters from 90s and would behave accordingly.

We as fans become biased towards the leads, we find justification for their actions but for side characters it is completely based on their behavior with leads.

We expect people to be good and right 100% of the times which is not realistic.

Though I don't like the approach CVs have taken here, as it seems they keep avoiding conversations most of the times but I can still understand chachaji's action.

How much does he know about Sharad... Just because someone did one mistake doesn't mean he is completely bad. Taiji praising him right left and center would have influenced him.

Also as per him Sameer is also not a good boy... In flashback what he saw was that Sameer comes to their house during puja's wedding. Naina also initially hated him but he kept doing things to impress her. Finally the girl got impressed.

So impression he has about Sameer is that he is a spoilt boy and his influence made his Naina also go on wrong path and lie to the family and him...

Coming to the post, I totally understand Chachaji's anger on Naina for breaking his trust. As a parent, it's justified too.

But agreeing for Naina n Sharad's alliance, I didn't find it right. Just because we're angry on our kids, we won't get them married to a wrong person right? Chachaji himself knows that a guy who can hold his collars in front of everyone, would not think twice before hitting his wife. So, just because he thinks Naina didn't break the alliance for his respect but did that for Sameer's love, he is pushing her into a married life with an abusive husband! How is that right, or even justified?

Agreeing for marriage to Sharad who is known jerk was nt accepatable.Either way it is ok that he is angry.& not discussing with Naina is also accepated as it was not a topic discussed by fathers that time.

Hi there thank you for making a post on this important character whom we thought takes an action on what he preaches.. But when I think back then I guess he has not in case of Naina in many situations.. But he loves her more than his own daughters.. However, in case of protection I doubt.. And he proved it by saying yes to an alliance that he knew was not right. Would he feel disgusted on what Naina had to go through and hear from Sharad? And if answer yes then he should apologize to Naina for being the reason to push her to this situation.. For him Naina gave up on Sameer.. Now I wonder if it was worth off.. Sameer has turned out to be a gem in front of sane elderly character in understanding plight of Naina..

Writes along with Anand forgot that it was Sameer who saved Puja's marriage. Remember? How Puja's inlaws were about the break the marriage seeing Rakesh misbehave and dropping hot tea over Sameer.

The entire Naina clan is seemingly violent and hypocrite 😆

Sameer should ideally tuck his sense tail and run away from the clan. 😆

See it's not about Sharad right now, it's about marrying his daughter in a respectable family. He right now doesnt know that Naina has broken up with Sameer he thinks they are still together, and he fears the worst what if the girl who is in so much love with Sameer that she broke the alliance which her family brought for her, she can go to any extent maybe even elope with her bf. If anything of that sort happens then what would happen to the girl n family. It wouldn't be only about Naina then but the entire family will have to suffer just like the mom of Shefali. Plus he doesn't even know the kind of boy Sameer is, he might actually betray Naina at the later stage and in 90s especially in small cities having a bf was a very big thing if the bf leaves, rarely anyone else would agree for the marriage.

And the only way to save Naina n family from this upcoming distress was get her married at the earliest and the only available option right now was Sharad so that's it.

I don't know why people found it surprising the moment Chachaji read the letters I understood that he would now again try to get Sharad Naina married

Dr I feel they need some pshychological councelling.Whole Agarwals think that they are always right including Naina.Only Preeti is relatable.Chachiji is not Agarwal by blood but all others see

I have no objection in liking or disliking a character it's completely a choice but loving a character basis how he behaves with the lead is something I hate

For this show itself for example all loved Anand as he loved Naina more than his daughters but think is this actually a good trait loving others more than your child this very same quality would have become a disadvantage had Preety been the lead of this show

Even I didnt like the part where Chachaji said yes for Sharad but when I think I somewhere get this weird feeling that may be he is doing all this to understand more about Sameer and Naina's relationship. It would be difficult for him to go and directly confront her considering 90's timeline and their relationship (he is not biological father for Naina to go and ask directly or may be he is not comfortable in asking and waiting for her to open up).

When he said "Jo bhi kar raha hun bahut soch samajh ke kar raha hun", I felt he is probably creating the same situation to see how Naina will react this time and then probably take a decision as to how Sameer and Naina can be handled..
