Problem with Raju Hirani

Sanju wasn't that lighthearted. It had the least funny moments compared to other Raju Hirani movies. Hardly any hearty laughs like 3 Idiots or PK. For the most part, it remained a serious film with maximum focus on it's emotional aspects.

First half of the movie, it was all about Sanju's drug addiction, nothing funny in it. Second half was all about his jail term and his terrorist tag given by media. I didn't see any light comedy in most part of the movie. Only Kamli brought some humour to the film, but it wasn't much.

And this Hirani movie wasn't issue based, there was some talk about Yellow journalism, but that's about it. This movie didn't give any social message like other Hirani movies.

As for Hirani's style, yes it's same in all his movies, but this is with almost all directors having a particular style.

There are Anurag Kashyap and Motwane for making serious movies. Hirani is known for making slice-of-life and comic satire movies, and it's working with the audience. No need for him to change it.

It could have been much better as personally I thought it would be interesting and entertaining. But I found it neither of them. Some bad jokes, unwanted scenes, too much of objectification of women. After coming out of the theatre i was literally like what was that. And yes I don't know whether it will be remembered for anything except sexist jokes. I feel sad I contributed in making that movie a success by spending my money & watching it. I assume it will win a couple of unwanted awards as well. Sad.

Perfecto gif. 😆 I haven't seen Sanju nor PR because they seem effing boring from whatever little I could muster the courage to watch.

But have seen his other films so I consider I can comment on his style. His is a chutiya style of film making designed to appeal to the LMC of people. I cant believe people's brains have become so fried to appreciate his work.

Not against Ranbir or Sanju in this. Sanju is doing such a good acting even in the above gif. And Ranbir Sanju ko khol ke pee gaya even in the poster he copied Sanju's eyes even with the whites below the irises totally visible.

But Hirani's films are just parodies within parodies and can't believe how long people will accept his Bhojpuri style BS.
