P.s. Of course we have more writers,..those are just a few i could recall...

Not active on social media 😆 So I am spared. I love flawed characters n all my fav stories are all about flawed characters - Mahabharat, Godfather, Othello and Hamlet to name a few. Even my stories on Abhiya most of them had flawed characters esp the leads and any old reader of mine from PKYEK forum can vouch for it. So if anyone says I am cribbing coz I am not mature to understand the mature concept or flawed characters I donno how I should respond 😆 People make mistakes n grow as individuals but the problem is with storytelling more than characters here in BP and I can only hope makers set things right in the upcoming episodes. Fingers crossed 😳 lets all hope the next set of episodes are beautiful enough for some of us who are disappointed with the current track. This way all of us are happy 😊

A very well written post!! 👏
All I want to say is CVs really need to be careful what they need to represent because No One and Never Will accept or tolerable any justification of EMA.
And Zoya calling out Poosh's rishtaa as Paak is utter foolishness of CVs writing.. making such a sensible character getting Butchered. Its clearly shown that she is taking all the blame of Poosh's affair and is guilty ...plainly shows her thinking as weak.
Its frustrating that the makers aren't being sensible in what they are showing (Paak Poosh) making us disgusted with the one character Zoya.

Forget EMA, there was a different level of maturity in those shows.

That said, i have not had the heart to watch Silsila! And of course people love Naagin the best:) ...sorry guys, if any of you watch that..no hard feelings...just that 90's brought back good memories of indian television..and we say we have progressed!

I have heard good things about Silsila but given the sorry state of TV affairs I can't take the risk of trying it, falling in love with it in the beginning n later feeling let down coz of bad scripting thanks to TRPs

Oh yes, the level of maturity in those shows man! What I would not do to bring those good old days back? Sadly I am no creative, channel head or a producer. Just a viewer who can express my views n do nothing else 😭

About Naagin the expectation is already set. It is a fantasy n purely fictional characters. So I guess anyone watching it can stomach it 😆

Can I just say that I love that we are all able to have a discussion without it turning into some crazy fandom war. This forum has been a delight to be a part of. Thanks everyone. I really enjoy reading all your perspectives.

I am liking Bepannaah coz the characters are flawed and their has been character growth since the show started I won't speak for others but myself 😆 I am a sucker for stories with flawed characters be it as a reader or a viewer and even as a writer my old stories mostly had flawed characters. And that was the only reason I started watching this show. I never blamed PooSh in the beginning coz falling out of love or falling in love with another while still being in a relationship is not unheard of nor uncommon. If I wanted perfectly well behaved characters I would be in YHM or YRKKLH la la land 😆 And I am sure if this forum is no 1 its because this show has a lot of room to have healthy discussions and that is only because of its concept of flawed characters.

Adi as we know is a man who is impulsive, he trusts easily and loses his trust on others easily as well...he often self pities and shifts complete blame on others...he is a flawed for sure...yet we like him Coz he is relatable at so many places...he vehemently opposes the affair like we all do, he is thinking about his own family and himself and thus doesn't want to re-open the case which again is something very relatable and practice...he does mistakes but then he rectifies them too...after that terrace incident and the whole Adi vs Zoya fiasco he softened and made efforts to make Zoya smile...during the court case he supported Zoya in front of his dad too...so all of this makes us relate to him and feel for him Bang on 👏 Agree with every word here. Adi is severely flawed but at the same time he is practical which is close to what we see around us.

When it comes to his flaws he never gave it a thought that there might be few mistakes made from his hand as well and his marriage was not as perfect as he thinks it was...Sakshi knew about the affair so he felt betrayed...but he didn't hear what she had to say...he is going around bribing people coz he doesn't want the case to be re-opened and his reasons are sort of valid we if think practically..he doesn't want his family to suffer and thus supporting his dad even though Harsh's ways are not right. For now he believes Harsh did what he did in the court coz that was the only way out but I am sure the day he realises the truth that Harsh and Pooja were guarding things won't be same again.

His character progression will be when he will stop self pitying, when he will come to a realisation that his marriage was not perfect and few mistakes were made from his end as well...when he will stop shifting blame on others, when he will learn to acknowledge grey rather than only white and black...when he will retrospect...it is needed for his character growth

So ya Adi is a flawed character with relatable traits True.

Coming to Zoya...there has been character growth...Zoya from a woman who was naive, dependent on her husband, who used to live in her make belief world and was delusional that her marriage and husband both were perfect has come a long way and now we are seeing her as a woman who is ready to fight alone, not only realises and accepted that her husband had an affair but also the fact that her marriage was never perfect and she had her own flaws...now that is a huge character growth. Yes and I love this about her and yes this is growth indeed.

So now Zoya wants to fight the case to prove that Yash was not a murderer...she wants to fight his case NOT as his wife but as his friend and prove his innocence...the case is about whether Yash killed Pooja or not...it is not about whether his affair was justified or not I do not have a problem with Zoya fighting to clear Yash's name. Cheater or not, he had once loved her with all his heart and for that love she needs to undo what has been done to his image. This is not rational at all coz she will end up reopening a case where she herself and Adi were blamed for PooSh's murder. What Harsh did was wrong. Very wrong. But her reopening this case will make things worse for herself and everyone who cares about her including the man who risked his life for her. But still - I get y she wants to do it. I understand her POV. It was her saying that their relationship was paak that was a blunder. I am sure u will agree the CVs made a blunder here. It was OK if she said Yash loved Pooja and he is being accused of murdering her which is in no way fair for him. Coming to Zoya becoming Yash's friend, had Yash ever tried to explain his situation as a friend? A true friend is one who has the guts to see u in ur eye n tell u, u r wrong. Did he ever try to snap Zoya out of her fairy tale world? At least Pooja tried to make Adi realise that they were not just friends and they were husband wife. But Adi was oblivious to everything else around him coz everything was perfect for him n there was nothing that had to change. Had Yash made that same attempt with Zoya? Zoya was accused of not making a connect with his family when he was alive. When a girl leaves behind everything for u to start a life with u, it is ur responsibility as a husband to bridge that gap between her and ur family and help them both come together n live like a family. Zoya had to bear that blame after Yash died. So who really failed here?

Now where she falters is when she calls PooSh love pure...their love might be pure for each other but their affair and going behind their partner's back can never be pure..that is called infidelity Yes and that one statement of hers literally made all of us bash her 😆

Zoya wants to stand for the truth that is Yash was not a murderer...she is thinking about Madhu..she is thinking about the truth...but yes this might put Adi, his family and even herself in danger...So, when comes at such a cross roads what is the person supposed to do...does one prove the dead husband's innocence and help her mom in law , help the company and her receive the money of insurance (if Yash committed the murder deliberately then no insurance will be given and if the accident was not intentional then money will be given)
or move on for the sake of herself and the person who helped her out in her time of need ...tough choice to make...what is the right and wrong choice is here...or both the choices are right in their own ways ? It is a tough choice indeed. Zoya is not wrong in fighting for Yash or Madhu's sake. Madhu may not have been a loving MIL but she was considerate towards Zoya and genuinely cared for her. Madhu is a grieving mother who has nothing but her son's memories to live with n she certainly doesn't deserve to live with the memory of the world calling her son a murderer. Thats not fair. As for the company I guess Harsh was willing to compensate for it but that does not settle the matter altogether. I wonder if she knew Adi was willing to sacrifice himself for her sake how she will react.
This is exactly why I am liking BP's writing coz they raise hard hitting and realistic questions and create such situations.

She called PooSh love pure and that is what has pissed many off...he could have said that their love for each other was pure but their affair and going behind their partner's back was wrong...she should have clearly stated that..this is where she falters Pure would still not be the right word. She could have said that they loved each other truly even though they (AdiYa) were wronged

Zoya has come a long way and still has a long way to. Again flawed yet someone who is becoming stronger with each passing episode

Now coming to Arjun - he is supporting truth here...he is against his father' a ways...he thinks and knows Yash did not kill Pooja which is true and hence supporting Zoya...people often say he puts entire blame on Adi...well as per me he keeps saying Adi has flaws , mistakes were made from his end as well which in a way is right...he even told Adi intillay that what happened with him is tragic and huge and he should let his emotions out. If Arjun is supporting truth, he should also support the truth that his brother was willing to sacrifice himself for Zoya bcoz of which Harsh took this route. We donno what Harsh would have done otherwise if he had to pull only Adi out. He may have done something else which was extreme again but maybe he would not have maligned Yash. I am not mad at Arjun for understanding his brother faltered too but him saying Pooja was justified in finding solace outside is not fair. His brother had loved Pooja a lot n that is also the truth. He can support the truth so that he can help his brother to come to terms with the truth. But he is going about it wrong now.

He has never said that Pooja was not wrong...although he should say that she wa wrong. Here he falters and hence right there is his flaws But he never said Pooja made a mistake too.

He is choosing truth over family and even himself coz even his career will be put on the line Which is not bad but a person choosing the truth should choose all aspects of it.

People say he is the worst brother...but I don't think so...why is he worst coz he so supporting Zoya and gave her the diary...well as per me he chose truth over family and himself...now whether he is right or wrong is a matter of perespective.

If he was the worst brother then he wouldn't go around driving Adi at night, cry for Adi while adivicing him as RJ , won't be so worried for Adi and show him the mirror when needed...he does love his brother. Arjun is not a bad brother but he made a mistake in breaking his brother's heart and that is also a truth.

I really want makers to explore their bond

So, yup he certainly has his own flaws but he is a good human being like Adi and Zoya

Now coming to why people often sympathise with male leads more...well there are many things

1. Female fans get attracted more to male heroes...that is quite natural ! Male heroes have more female fan following...and Harshad is hugely popular among females. Male heroes are popular but here we are talking about Jenny n she is the most popular actress now. So I guess there must be equal no of Harshad n Jenny fans n mostly I can see most of them are JenShad or Adiya fans

2. Like tm said females bash females at times more coz they want to see a strong female lead which is more relatable...Zoya is less relatable and so is her situation...but a timid, dependent female lead doesn't means character assassination...every girl is different and has her own struggles...so if Zoya is on her own journey of self Discovery and retrospectin..journey of growing form that timid girl who lived in her make belief world to a stronger, independent girl and during that journey she makes mistakes but also learns from them then I see it as character growth and journey If I had to despise Zoya for being timid or dependent would have done that long back but I won't because in real life there are people who are timid n who are dependent. It is not their fault but situations around them that has made them that way. Zoya did grow n that too beautifully but right now her taking the entire blame for Yash's mistake is not fair n calling PooSh pyaar paak that was pakao 🥱 So yes I am angry n hurt that she pushed her self respect to one corner.

3. Adi is more relatable as he is more practical...but like I said if we see closely even he has his flaws..but his flaws umm seem relatable too henxe many are loving him overlooking his flaws Adi is severely flawed 😆

Also let's wait and see if makers glorify the EMA or not coz so far we have seen Zoya supporting Yash for not being a murderer while Adi is vehemently is against PooSh affair and viewers unanimously support Adi's thought and we resonate the same feelings..EMA can never be right ...Arjun told that one day Adi will realise that his dad's ways are wrong and it is obvious Adi will come around...i hope makers will clarify Zoya calling PooSh love pure..ya their love for each other can be pure but not their affair and going behind their partner's backs..makers need to clarify that for sure.Hopefully makers won't glorify EMA I don't mind if makers portray EMA as a human mistake. But not paak please

If we are not seeking perfection then we shouldn't be making too many bashing posts about these characters instead try to appreciate their flaws or try to figure out what the writers intend to tell and wait for the story to unfold I think Flawed characterization and flawed story telling is what is leading to all the bashing. Not flawed characters.
