Hi there,

Just wondering how many people out there are watching the show and speak only English?

I speak only English and rely solely on English subtitles and was curious to know if there was anyone else in the same boat?

Dear Suzanne,
Till now, I see, nobody has replied to your post, so let me give you a small reaction:

. For me, English is not my first language, but I've mastered it sufficiently to be able to watch Bepanah - if it were shown to us with English subtitles 😊
. Fortunately... I watch it in Hindi and Urdu - also not my first languages (if two can be so qualified) 😕

. But, perhaps, the question may be rephrased as: how many people watching the show with English subtitles UNDERSTAND what is happening?

This is relevant because, apparently, -at least- in Canada, the US, and the UK epis are censored = CUT, so the text must be a mishmash also ...?? 🤢

Used to be in that boat because I'm not an Indian and don't speak that language. However thanks to SRK movies I kinda improved my language skills and now I can sort of manage Hindi dialogues without English subs

Now I'm going through a similar phase with Korean language with Kdramas :)

Thank you for responding to my post! Good for you to understand a few languages! I have picked up many words from just watching watching Hindi serials so it's exciting when I am able to understand some phrases. I was curious about the English only viewers because I speak only English and was curious how many others tune in to the show. I assume the majority of the viewers speak Hindi or at least understand the language and I think it's great at how many international viewers there are.

Wow, good for you! I learned a lot about the language when I used to watch another show on ZeeTV and one of the members on IF used to help me out whenever I got stuck on words and Google Translate would confuse things more 😆

It would be great to find one of the online sites with subtitles that follows the exact showing in India since anything outside of India is censored and has deleted scenes.

Hindi is not my first language but it is still a language that is a significant part of my family and home country, so I can understand it without having to learn it. I can speak it a little too (though this would require more practice to be able to speak it fluently). However, with that said, I do find that English subtitles help me because sometimes I can't catch bits and pieces of what they say in the show, so it definitely helps to put it in context. The subtitles are not always fully right but if I don't catch something that was said, they give an idea and the Hindi dialogue appears clearer and makes more sense.

Yes, unfortunately the down side of getting majorly censored/cut scenes is we have to watch online but then there are no subtitles. We get the short end of the stick 😆
