u are absolutely right dear
...why zoya is always caring towards madhu and Mahi.

that is wrong..
every child should give priority to his parents
..here we see opposite..she never try to understand what her parents have gone through..

For me, I found it ok for Zoya to be upset at Aditya and Papa Hooda: she was unaware of how Aditya saved her from jail, and she saw her marriage being disrespected in front of the whole world. Yash was declared depressed, and a murderer (It is a different matter that the second part was never proved, because it is a Hindi serial!).

But that said, the TM has a point.

We needed a moment of Zoya with her parents, whatever her family's reaction, we needed at least some connection with them, because her family has stood by her through a lot.

Secondly, we needed to see Zoya saying a few things to Mahi in front of Madhu and her own parents: telling Mahi that she was absolutely evil to make her do the fake marriage for the sake of the company contract, then bring Madhu to the scene to witness it. Mahi knew the truth of Aditya emerging from Zoya's room-- Zoya should have brought that up, as well as all the humiliations Mahi has done to her (this would have cleared her name in front of her parents--if anyone falsely accused me of sleeping with someone in front of my parents, I'll wipe the floor with such a person!).

That showdown would have strengthened Zoya's character, show her a principled person, but one who calls a spade a spade and stands up to bullshit: that would have been character growth.

Right now, the audience sees Zoya only shouting at Adi, and letting Mahi go scot-free, so the anger against her lack of character growth is justifiable as she comes across as naive and holier-than-thou. This cancels out all the things she said during their runaway episodes: the man being the worst animal, the standing up to injustice etc, which showed her maturity.

That's my two cents.

Also comparing Adi and Zoya is not valid, because both come from different family backgrounds: Adi comes from an unstable family, and Zoya comes from a very stable, if conservative upbringing. So Adi disrespecting his parents has a background, but Zoya not insisting on clearing her name with her parents by confronting Mahi in front of them has no basis at all.

Any self-respecting person would fight to clear her own name in her place, a well-written character would have protested against being painted as someone who fake-married or slept with Aditya, and possibly landed a slap or two on Mahi. The CVs possibly didn't show us the confrontation because they're instead showing the rather implausible storyline of a CBI officer kidnapping Zoya--they need Mahi's cover not to be blown for now, so that Mahi's character (and thus also Madhu's) can be used to stir up trouble.

I seriously feel all female characters in TV shows should be written only by female writers...most of the shows are written by men even the ones which have strong female leads..Coz of this one can never really get a well etched out female lead.. And if the writer of this show is a female, theN god help us. .Please do not butcher this character.. I was loving her character growth in the jungle scenes.. If handled well she could be the best character on ITV. .Please CVs wake up..

Zoya wanting to overcompensate for not trying to mend fences with her inlaws at the cost of her self respect AFTER the death of her cheating husband takes the proverbial cake! Where as look at Adi! Heck Adi even has the customary angst-ridden sad childhood that actually makes all the tongue-lashing meted out to Zoya barring the manhandling in the initial days justifiable in a roundabout way. Again I ask, why can't the writers make Zoya believable if it's the same set of writers that have written Adi in a nuanced manner? I am afraid in the future, she is just gonna be used as a plot device to create conflicts to move the story forward and of course it goes without saying, as a prop in romantic scenes.

Very well said, and I see in the thread people are saying Adi is not a great son either. Damn right and he was criticised for it and if he takes actions which aren't correct, I am sure he will be again. As you said writers have to make Zoya believable and relatable as this is why people are tuning into a show like BP. Problem is that most serial writers when developing a reserved and shy character like Zoya have to make her seem to be like some kind of reactive and sacrificial lamb. I think Zoya has adorable moments and so much more to her than this, upto the writers to bring it out.

I would say that we know so much about Adi's relationship or the lack of it with his fam . It is imperative we see the same with the Siddiqui's rather than once a week shot so of them worrying or being pissed at their children 😆

Zoya not saying the truth against Mahi just to spare Madhu pain is ridiculous. Eventually when Madhu realises how vile Mahi is, she will anyways feel bad, whether she is alone when she finds out the truth in her home with no one for an audience or in front of a courtroom. Zoya cannot save her from heartbreak. Zoya's argument was bleak in that case. But lets not forget that where Madhu could have easily damaged the case further she saved the day by saying the truth despite her bitterness for Zoya. Madhu may never have loved Zoya like a daughter but she had come to trust her more than her own n Zoya knew it. So Zoya felt responsible to uphold that trust.

As for what happened the next day, I won't blame her entirely for that reaction. Yash may not have been a faithful husband but that does not mean he was a bad person. He had a right to dignity like everyone does and he certainly didn't deserve to be tagged a mental patient or a murderer, worse of all. Should you celebrate freedom at the cost of tarnishing someone's memories? Zoya had loved Yash with all her heart and though she knows he betrayed her, she cannot bear someone maligning him for something that is not true. Her freedom came with a heavy price, one her conscience would never accept and it was natural that her first concern was towards Madhu. Like Zoya said in the precap, had the same thing happened with Pooja, would Adi accept his freedom, least of all celebrate it? No.

I have criticised Zoya several times in the past esp when she chose Mahi over Noor and was concerned for stupid things and I certainly bashed her to my heart's content when she refused to testify against Mahi to save herself n Adi esp when Mahi assassinated her character in the court. But this one time she is not wrong. At least for me, she is not.

Adi tried to bury the hatchet with his dad because he wants to save Zoya, and that's because he's in love with her. Period! Did you see how he was imploring his dad to exonerate Zoya too when HH kept ignoring his pleas continuously? He wants to take the blame and go to jail FOR Zoya, but what does Zoya do? Stands up for people who don't deserve any kind of consideration or courtesy let alone the kind of respect she showers on them! When Adi makes mistakes, he takes accountability and learns from them and hence his character growth is smooth and organic. But Zoya is never given that luxury by the writers.
