Indian laws for Adultery

According to the Indian penal code , if a husband / wife does adultery then out of the 2 parties one can be termed 5 years of jail or fine or both.

Hello. Firstly, BT follows BT land laws, not IPC. Secondly, under the Indian law only the man can be punished for adultery not the woman. Call it biased, but that is what it is. And thirdly, there is no law for punishing people who support adultery. Honestly, I wish they would just keep following BT land laws and not confuse the audience with the real stuff. They have already done enough damage in the medical and legal front and made a mockery of pretty much everything. Do we really need more?

I am not aware of technicalities as am not a law student.

I was reading a spoiler & there it said Ishita would deand Bhallas to accept Roshni. Like seriously??? If getting an heir is everything you need then why bother marrying? Go & impregnate as many as women you can as that will be accepted by your family too.

I have always believed Bhallas to be utterly selfish & cheap-minded. But Ishita has crossed every limit of cheapness. If someone seriously watches her steps, he/she won't ever feel sorry for any infertile woman; rather hate that woman for such cheap thinking.

Before Adi's death, you were arguing with me that Adi did not do any CRIME unlike Simmi when I told you that he should be jailed for cheating on Aaliyah (I was wrong actually). Now since Adi is dead suddenly you've realised that adultery is a crime?! Why this double standards?

Second, do proper research before blabbering something here. According to Indian law only a man can be arrested for adulterous and not a woman. Second according to Indian laws, only when a married man has an affair with a MARRIED woman, he can be penalised for adultery.

Adi, married to Aliya, had an affair with Roshni, who was unmarried at the time of affair, and hence even Adi CANNOT be arrested for Adultery. Only thing that can be done is that Aaliyah could've filed for divorce from Adi but Adi will NOT be punished in this case as he was having an affair with an I married woman.

Third, when Adi himself cannot be arrested for adutery, how on earth do you think you can get Ishita and the Bhalla family arrested? Even if Adi had an affair with a married woman and the Bhallas and Ishita supported the EMA, they cannot be arrested for that. It is ridiculous that you are even coming up with such things. Chuck!

When it comes to the law, I don't think people commenting under this post know a lot about it, you don't just Google things...anyway, yes, Alia can file a complaint against Roshni under Indian marriage act for dissolution of marriage, what these people are talking about is Section 498A Of IPC, I remember there was a case in Jharkhand, where a woman filed complaint against her husband's mistress and she won the case...

Alia can definitely file case against her in laws for harassing her mentally and physically...
