Adiya SS : Humdam (Part 1)
'Humara net bhi kaam nahi kar raha'' said Zoya completely lost in her phone.
'tumhare dimaag ki tarah'' mumbled Adi who was driving in the heavy snow. Zoya looked up and looked at him 'kya kaha apne?'' she snapped.
'Kuch nahi, Zoya kaun sa pahar tuth parta agar hum kaal atei tou? asked Adi
'Nahi Aditya client ne hum mein aaj hi ane kiliye bola tha especially hum dono ko taki hum saab kuch unke saath dobara discuss karsake'' insisted Zoya
'Tum aur tumhare clients'' said Adi looking straight at the road which was half covered with snow and it was pretty dark as it was 8 o'clock at night.
It had been 2 months since Zoya and Adi received the divorce papers from their respective partners, who were no longer alive to tell them why they received those papers. At first it was pretty hard for Zoya who even tried to take her own life but Aditya instead of getting lost in his own sorrows stood as strong as a rock for her, cheering her, supporting her and leaving no stone unturned to make her life normal again. Soon Zoya realized what an exquisite human being Aditya is and seeing his effort, she extended her hand of friendship to him. And now they were each other's' friend as well as confidant.
'Enn saab paharo mein ek alag sa hi sukoon hai'' said Aditya looking around.
'Ha hum mein tou pehle se hi pahar bohut pasand ha tabhi tou hum Mussourie se bahar kabhi giye hi nahi'' said Zoya
'Achaaa isiliye yeh Shimla ka contract liya''
'haa aur hum nei socha Mumbai se thoda break mil jayega'' as soon as Zoya completed her sentence the car stopped.
Adi pressed his lip and with a sarcastic smile looked at Zoya 'chalo abhi jaise break bola vaise start bhi bol dou''
Zoya frowned 'aap jake dekho kya hua''
Soon the car started but after a while they were stopped by a traffic police officer
'Sir aap log agei nahi ja sakte snow fall ki wah jaise raasta band hai''
'lekin bhai saab hum jinke ghar rukne wale hai who samne hai'' said Adi
'Nahi sir hum apko allow nahi kar sakte ap log ek kaam karo yaha paas mein ek Motel hai aap waha ruk jao'said the officer.
After thinking for a while they both decided that, it would be the best thing to do thus they went to the motel.
Aditya and Zoya were standing at the reception trying to book rooms when someone tapped Adi on the shoulder, he turned around to find a middle-aged woman standing in front of him.
'Dr. Niharika'' said Aditya with a tone of surprise.
'How are you Adi'' said the kind lady giving him a hug, adi nodded. 'Pooja kaha hai?'' she asked.
Adi looked awkwardly at Zoya, who was confused that how come the woman did not know. But before Adi could answer the doctor started talking, 'Tou kya fesla kia tha tum dono ne? I am sorry main yaha tum he aise puch rahi hoon but itne dino taak thi nahi na Mumbai me isiliye I am very curious to know about your decision''
'What decision doctor?'' Adi was puzzled
the doctor was confused too, she gave Zoya a look and asked softly 'about your baby''
Adi inhaled deeply. For a moment he felt like everything round him was going blur.
'Baby?'' asked Adi, gathering all his strength.
'Yes, Pooja was pregnant''
Zoya closed her fist tightly...was it...his...
'You were going to be a father Adi'' said the doctor, Zoya sighed in relief but quickly looked at him.
'Oh my God'' Zoya said under her breathe.
Adi smiled a bit, biting his lower lips and holding back his tears, 'it was my baby?'' he asked joyfully
'yes it was your baby, tumhara aur pooja ka baccha''
It seemed like for a moment Adi had forgotten that Pooja was no longer alive. He was so happy and with the hopeful face he looked at zoya, who was standing just behind him. 'baby'' he mouthed. Zoya realized that Adi was lost in his wonder world so she just nodded along with him.
'Lekin pata nahi kyyun Pooja abortion karna chah rahi thi'' said the doctor. Zoya looked at adi's face which transformed from joy to grief with in a second. He turned and looked at the doctor.. ...''abortion?''
'Aditya didn't you know?'' she was puzzled but still went on 'mere London jane se pehle Pooja mere clinic ayi thi, phir maine hi usse bataya ki she was pregnant with your child but pata nahi kyun woh abortion chahti thi. I just told her ki main tum dono se baat na karke kuch nahi karungi and then I left for London, phir meri uske saath baat hi nahi huin, where is Pooja??''
'Pooja is dead'' said Aditya with a straight face and stern voice.
Oh I am so sorry'' the doctor got very awkward and without saying anything further she left.
Zoya was seeing the back of Aditya, she couldn't even imagine what was going through him. After hesitating a bit she kept her hand on his shoulder, 'Adi'' she said softly but without uttering a single word Adi went out of the motel leaving Zoya behind. She also ran after him but he was so fast that Zoya lost him and had no idea where he went.
