About Kabeer's actions... I am not sure if it's just Kabeer. I think Kabeer had always been like this. In Kashmir, he said he wanted to be friends with Zaara and didn't wanna argue, so that he could tour the city as he also like travelling. Now he's back to his old self, the difference is Zaara hasn't gone back to her previous self. Now, Kabeer says whatever he wants and Zaara isn't stopping him with her perceptive. She's not fighting back/debating/arguing, so he just keeps putting his views on her. It's interesting to see how long it'll go before Zaara comes out of this stupor.Originally posted by: ghissapitta
I think a lot of people do realize this whole setup is for the story and eventual separation, but just like we spent pages and pages fangirling over the good bits we got in Kashmir, we can also spend pages and pages sharing our thoughts on what we perceive to be going wrong. I don't know about others, but for me, it is how quickly Kabeer's character transitioned from giving Zara soft looks and a modem of respect to literally...nothing. He has been treating her like a non-entity this past week. THAT has been the problem. NOT his nazariya. We all knew going into this show what he was going to be like.I don't think anyone ever said Kabeer was a romantic or expects him to be that way so soon, but even when they were not in Kashmir, even during their marriage and before, he looked at her with some warmth. Now he treats her with coldness and indifference. It's fine if they justify that with the fact that he got busy with his new duties etc. but at least make the transition BELIEVABLE. That has been my biggest complaint.Sure the walima drama of his was OTT, but I'd have never thought he would rip up and throw Zara's hard work in the trash. Not before marriage, and certainly not when she is his WIFE.No one is doing feminist morcha either. If women aren't shocked at Kabeer's behavior towards his wife, that to me is a cause for concern. It's not even about feminism as much as it is about treating another human being, your PARTNER, with some respect.
And I disagree with you that he did everything in Kashmir out of duty. It was obvious to me he was falling more for her, than she was for him, until the Siraj kidnapping fiasco. I mean he cried and hugged and kissed her chunni when he was missing her, he told his father this isn't just about izzat and whatnot anymore, he was going to get his wife back, he blatantly said that to his Abbu. To me, that is more than just duty. Guess we're just gonna have to agree to disagree here.Islam teaches equality does it not? At least that's what I have heard. So how is it he believes men and women aren't equal when he's a maulvi lmao? I hope you see where I'm going with this. It is not people hating on Kabeer, he's a fictional character. People have complaints regarding how CVs have transitioned his character this week. That's all.I don't think anyone is being overly sensitive. If we can fangirl like crazy when the times are good, people have a right to speak up when things aren't so. At least, that's what constitutes a discussion forum in my eyes.Again, we all knew his nazariya wasn't going to be agreeable, we all knew his journey would be one of change, and we look forward to it. It is the way they have abruptly transitioned his character and actions this week, which has been jarring.Peace!
