Gauri Kumari Sharma.
Fated. Connected. Like they are two halves of one soul.
{It's just that they don't know this yet}

Pyaar bhi sahi tha.

One day, Fate decided to bring together a man who had lost all his faith and a woman who lived and breathed Belief. How does one tell a story of these two people? It goes something like this: when they met, they clashed and vowed to never see each other again. But they met, again and again. He misunderstood her and hated her. She never explained herself and never understood him. She saved him; he left her. He saved her; he left her.
And when they thought that was the end for them, Fate said, "It's just the beginning.
Omkara the man who hates lies.
Gauri the woman who knows lies are necessary for survival.
How does one tell their tale?
When Fate brought her in front of him, it was under a lie. But what they shared afterwards, it was all the truth. She became his light when his life was all dark. She became his support when he was all alone. She became his smile when happiness was the last thing on his mind. Friends. That's how they started as. That's where their roots lie. If she was ready to die for him; he was ready to kill for her. Their souls had found their other halves when they were together. And the beauty of friends is...you choose them.
But the course of true love never did run smooth.
The lie was big enough for him to overlook all that she did for him. When her guise was lifted and he saw the woman who he never stopped hating, he forgot all about the friend he was ready to go to the ends of the world for. Chulbul, the friend, ceased to exist the moment Gauri, the woman, was exposed. He forgot. She didn't.
It was devotion or fulfilling a debt, but she was there for him, helping him and saving him although he refused to see it. He kept telling her to leave. He kept misunderstanding her. Until he no longer could.
"Jhoot ki chaadar jitni bhi charha lo...sachai aur achai apna nishaad chorh hi jaati hai."
For how long could he refuse to see the Chulbul in Gauri? For how long could he pretend she wasn't the one who was there for him at the most loneliest phase of his life? For how long could he go on thinking she was nothing to him when in fact, his soul found peace only when he was with her? And when he stopped struggling against the fact that she means something to him...he stopped her from leaving.
Because them? They aren't egos clashing or opposites attracting. They are two people who are at their core just so similar to each other. Omkara and Gauri. They are similar in the way they love, in the way they care, in the way their thoughts match; just like the way they are so similar in the way they are so complex. It takes one to understand the other. Two puzzle pieces who need each other to give a complete picture, that's who they are.
Innki Ishqbaazi Ka Safar toh abhi shuru hi hua hai. They are the definition of slow burn. In the hustling bustling world, they have a corner that is reserved for them. They are silent communication and peace amidst the chaos. They are the said and the unsaid. They are the ones with the "gehra connection which takes over one's whole instincts and senses. The worldly definitions don't apply to them. For whatever souls are made of, his and hers are the same

Their wedding was something else altogether. It had tension. It gave a sense of righteousness. For me, it's one properly written and executed scene and it was aesthetically perfect. Om was blinded by his past but couldn't see the injustice being done to her. His actions went well with his character. The way he told the villagers that they didn't have any right to punish someone that way. And his slight concern when she wasn't able to walk. His confusion on whether to leave her or save her. The way his heart won over his mind and he came back for her unable to see her getting stabbed. Gauri knew he hated her but she also knew that was just a facade, that he was not what he pretends to be and he was badly affected by something in his past. That made her save his life. That made her sought his help even if she knew he hated her. Her unwavering faith in her shankarji brought Om into her life which was clearly shown in the background during the marriage. (The shiva's statue) The sheer relief on her mother's face when she saw her daughter getting married The relief that she was safe and that she would be. Gauri's expression after he fills her maang. It was a mix of shock, comfort and belongingness. It had everything. Everything.
Even if there is a remarriage track (which is not possible) it can never beat their first marriage.
