It's time for Retro Cafe again !! This week the theme is

Valentine Day Spl

Love as in romance is a heady feeling. When the arrow of cupid strikes, rationality walks away, everything else pales into insignificance and one only listens to the hearts dictates leave reality to go live in fantasy-land!! If the romantic in Shah Jahan built Taj Mahal for his beloved, then our bollywood has presented us with goldmines of romantic treasures - some timeless romantic songs and sequences picturized on some of the hottest onscreen bollywood couples of all times! Our film couples have woven so many magical moments that every time we remember them we are left with only two expressions – dreamy looks in the eyes and the ever big sigh!

Bollywood films have personified love through songs and dances which are timeless wonders. Raj Kapoor and Nargis, on a rainy day standing under an umbrella and crooning away the romantic song – "Pyaar Huya Iqraar Huya" is one scene that immediately comes to mind when thinking about this jodi. Guru-Dutt -Waheeda Rehman, Raj Kapoor – Nargis, Dilip Kumar -Vyjayantimala, Rajesh Khanna – Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh- Rekha, there are so many who with their on screen chemistry and some of the most romantic songs have awakened the dreamer, the romantic in us and so many times, in so many forms we have used these songs to express our feelings to our beloveds.

This week we will reacquaint ourselves with those unforgettable memories and the songs which even today haunt us whenever we hear them. Valentine Day is just round the corner, love is in the air, so let's awaken the romantic in us.
