Arnav knows that sheetal is dishonest so why is he harbouring her around him. It should be clear that he does not want her around his company after what happened years ago while she work for him. He knows she is a liar and a traitor who sold information from his company so why behave as if he does not know her true colours. Continue soon.

Arnav is an idiot. If he knew Sheetal was behind their company almost losing a contract what the hell was he doing taking to her and encouraging her? How can you be friendly with someone you knew leaked out your company's confidential information and betrayed your trust? Doesn't make sense. You have to be both stupid and an idiot or just allowing yourself the indulgence of a woman pandering to your ego. But even then. ...

Chapter 53 - Khushi's Dark Secret!

It was almost 10 pm in the night, Arnav went looking for Khushi... He saw her going to Nani's room...

Savita aunty had arrived and Khushi was informing her about Naniji's medicines and dosage. What she ate and if she needs anything in the night...

Khushi kept hot pot with light khichadi just in case Naniji needs it... She couldn't eat much at a time these days...

"Khushi Bitiya, don't worry so much... I know Naniji's routine and her food intake... You go and sleep..." Savita aunty suggested Khushi...

"Khushi, go and take some rest... You all came late yesterday also and didn't sleep well... Plus whole day you were cooking so go now..." Naniji also insisted.

"I will Naniji, first you relax and sleep... I will be here for few more minutes..." Khushi went and got water bottle refilled...

Khushi sat on the recliner while Savita aunty was giving leg massage to Naniji... Khushi closed her eyes thinking about the lingering question since Sheetal left... What was she hinting at? I trust Arnav always but this is his past where I was nowhere involved... Was he in such a close relationship with Sheetal or was it one of those drunk encounters that led to...? She was scared to even think about it? If true, what does it mean for them or that kid? Will Sheetal be part of their life forever? Or will she lose her happily ever after again? She was exhausted, stressed and dozed off...

Arnav waited and walked towards Nani's room to check on Nani and Khushi...

"Naniji, your beautiful butterfly is looking much healthy and I must say fresh these days... Does she still get the nightmares? But she looks so tired and lost today, I am worried..." Savita asked...

"Not really... Since Arnav and Khushi sorted their differences, Arnav has been really working hard on their relationship giving her the wifely rights has worked for her... I have not heard of any nightmares, at least Arnav never came to me... I am sure he would have if she had one... It's hard to ignore and see her struggling... Even NK has had tears in his eyes..." Naniji was at peace to see Khushi happy...

"Hopefully his love will cure her completely..." Savita aunty prayed...

"Yes, I am sure it will... Arnav now loves her a lot and realizes it too... Sometimes still he acts careless and stupid but much better..." Naniji couldn't help but call him stupid after today's Sheetal fiasco...

"Nani, Savita aunty, what are you talking about? What happened to Khushi? Arnav asked them curiously..." He sure heard most of it and felt they were hiding something about Khushi from him...

"Arnav, nothing has happened to Khushi... She is fine and just dozed off tired... It's just that... Savita aunty wanted to tell him about her nightmares but Nani stopped her...

"Nothing Arnav, you will have to understand your life partner at emotional level as well... If you claim to love her, then go figure it out yourself... It's you duty to understand what can upset her or what is wrong for that matter... Like the morning..." Nani was still upset that he invited Sheetal to RM...

"Nani, Sheetal lied... I never invited her here..." Arnav was firm and angry...

"I don't want to know your excuses Arnav... You believe in controlling your destiny, being your own god, then make sure you don't do anything wrong that can hurt Khushi's feelings... She doesn't say things every time and you are enough blind..." Naniji was angry too...

"Ok then... Nani, I will talk to you tomorrow when you have calmed down... And I can definitely take care of my wife... And again I really love her so please stop thinking otherwise... Arnav picked up Khushi in his arms and started walking out from Nani's room...

"Arnav Bitwa, be careful... And your wife is lite like a feather... God knows how she?" Savita aunty teased him to lighten the mood...

"Why, did you pick her to know how lite she is?" Arnav blurted out angrily...

"Yes many times, she is a kid... Take care of her Bitwa..." Savita aunty blessed him by putting her hand on his head and he walked out with Khushi...

Arnav put Khushi on the bed and covered her with duvet... He kept thinking about Nani and Savita aunt's talks downstairs... Why Savita aunty would pick up Khushi or NK cry for her?

He didn't know what to do? How to find out...? He tried NK's phone but he didn't pick up... Oh yeah, he and La went out with friends in the afternoon...

"Amma, hope I am not disturbing you..." Arnav couldn't help but call Khushi's Amma.

"No Beta, you can never disturb us... How are you and Khushi?" Garima politely replied yet surprised Arnav called her so late...

"We both are fine... How are you feeling now? Hope the fever is gone..." Arnav asked her...

"Yes, I am fine now... Khushi worries too much..." Garima replied.

"Amma, does Khushi get any nightmares I mean...? Arnav wasn't sure how to ask but decided he must know and who else knows Khushi better than her parents...

"Did Khushi get nightmare again? But why? What happened now? Naniji told me it has reduced completely since last two months. Oh Devi Mayya, what happened again? I know, she must be worried about me and my heart problem... How many times I have to tell her I am fine... Is she ok Arnav Beta, should I come there?" Garima blurted out worried...

Arnav was shocked to hear Amma's reaction just for a simple question... So this sure was something bigger than he thought...

"No Amma, Khushi is absolutely fine, I just wanted to know about it" Arnav tried to calm her down...

"Are you sure? I can come there and take care of Khushi if you want..." Garima again requested...

"No Amma, Khushi is absolutely fine... She is sleeping otherwise I would have her to talk to you right now... I just wanted to know about it and avoid any stress for her" Arnav assured her again...

"Ok, thank you beta..." Garima paused...

"Arnav Beta, Khushi was in the same car when her parents died in the car accident... She survived miraculously but she kept getting nightmares about it whenever she is upset, sad or alone... She is scared to sleep alone, go anywhere in the dark alone and it triggers nightmares for her..." Garima explained...

"Once we realized it, we never let her go alone anywhere or sleep alone so it reduced completely over the years... In last three years before marriage, she did not have any nightmares at all... But then Naniji and Savita aunty called us after marriage and informed me about how Khushi had hard time adjusting at RM during initial days... Maybe the house is big, environment is new for her and you were travelling... And Naniji, NK Bitwa and Savita aunty took care of Khushi so well and never left her alone... But I guess now she is settling down slowly... I haven't heard her getting one in last two months... Thank you for taking care of Khushi..." Garima told him history behind Khushi's nightmares...

"Ok Amma, I know it now... Trust me, I will make sure it never happens again..." Arnav was trying to decipher the information...

So during initial days of their marriage when he used to come home very late or attend some parties or travel for work, this must have happened and no wonder he never knew about it... But what could be the reason, Nani, aunty or NK never bothered to tell him such an important thing about his wife? His heart whined...

Maybe because he was the reason behind her nightmares back then? Maybe because he never accepted her as his wife and tried to stay away from her... Instantly the thought made his heart cry... Was he the reason for her nightmares after marriage? He acting bachelor and going everywhere alone, his ignorance and his page3 news being with other women, Arnav rushed out to poolside for some fresh air... He couldn't breathe thinking he was her culprit...

Just then Khushi started moving hysterically and screaming in her sleep... Arnav ran to her and hugged her tight... She was definitely not awake but was so uncomfortable, sweating profusely and crying...

"Khushi, wake up please..." Arnav was panicky looking at her not responding to his pleas... He felt totally nervous as to what to do next? He trusted his gut feel somehow and picked her up and took her to bathroom and splashed water on her face... Khushi barely woke up but couldn't stand on her own and looked so drained...

"Khushi, look at me... Are you okay now?" Arnav asked her terrified still...

"I am okay... Just a little tired... May I sleep?" She asked him resting her head on his shoulder... Arnav realized she didn't remember her nightmare...

"Yes, let's go..." Arnav again swooped her in his arms instantly... By then he could feel his family at the door and knocking the door...

"Arnav, open the door... Is Khushi having nightmare again?" He could clearly feel anxiety in Di's voice...

So even Di knows... So is he the only one who does not know about his wife? That made him feel so mad and angry at his own family...

"Di, Khushi is fine and I will take care of her... Don't worry and good night..." He replied in a rough tone.

He held Khushi closed to his heart, kissed on her forehead and patted her to sleep... Maybe with his quick thinking and splash of water woke her up quickly but still he could see how much she was cold and shivering... He wrapped her properly in the blanket and could still hear his family whispering outside...

"May I know what is going on? Why did you hide such an important thing about Khushi from me?" Arnav asked everyone in no nonsense tone... He was angry as hell...

"Because Khushi didn't want to tell you..." Spat came reply from his Di...

"But why?" Arnav was surprised and equally curious...

"She has had hard time handling your ignorance, her loneliness and your Page3 appearances..." NK came forward and replied... By then even Diya and Ankit were back...

"But why no one found it important to tell me?" Arnav still insisted...

"Because you didn't accept her as your wife, she did not want you to know... I guess she wanted you to care enough to find out yourself... And not accept her out of guilt or sympathy..." La added...

"So I get it now... So everyone else knows everything about Khushi but me... Is that why you conspired to involve NK, Ankit to somehow bring us closer or make me realize Khushi's worth?" Arnav asked looking at his Di and Nani...

"Oh, so at last you figured it out... We thought we will never see the light at the end of the tunnel... Yes, it was our last attempt before letting her go... But with your today's behavior, we are not even sure if it was all worth it..." His Di was equally sarcastic...

"What do you mean?" Arnav asked her angrily...

"Arnav, it's very simple... Sheetal landing at your door step was completely uncalled for... We took lots of measures to involve Ankit and at the same time we had second mission to make Diya realize Ankit's love for her, even without Ankit knowing about our second mission... I treat both Diya and Khushi as my younger sisters and I mean it... Ankit's closeness with Khushi helped both you and Diya..." Shyam explained Arnav further...

"For the last time, I never invited Sheetal to stay at RM... Can we stop it please?" Arnav raised his voice...

"What do you think must have triggered Khushi's anxiety today? Care to explain please and we will listen..." Shyam stepped towards Arnav dangerously...

"You know what? I truly appreciate all your help in my marriage till date... But not anymore... I will handle it from now on... I will make sure to take care of my wife. I might have acted careless in the past but truly love her now... And I don't need to prove it by my words, my actions will..." He was completely pissed off with looking like a villain in front of his whole family and friends... Totally messed up in his married life and has no clue about his own wife's vulnerabilities...

He just raised his hand asking them not to say anything further...

"I think my Khushi needs me right now... Good night" He stepped back and went to kitchen... He made warm milk and couple of toasts and walked to his room...

He pulled over another warm blanket from on Khushi... Her shivering was gone and she was slightly awake... By then she knew she again got the nightmare and this time with Arnav next to her...

"Khushi, I have got milk and toast for you... Eat or else you won't be able to sleep..." Arnav helped her sit up, fed her and she obliged...

He rested on the headboard with Khushi in his arms... He knew he needed to talk to her desperately...

"Khushi, are you totally disappointed in me?" He asked her very hurt...

"What no Arnav, where did that come from?" Khushi asked him tired...

"Why didn't anyone tell me about your nightmares? I am so ashamed of myself to put you through this..." Arnav felt disgusted...

"This is why I didn't tell you... I don't need your guilt or sympathy... You have nothing to do with it... I have been getting those since childhood but hopefully I will get over it one day and if not I have learnt to live with them... I don't even remember what happens so it's not like I am in pain okay?" Khushi tried to calm him down...

"Khushi, I really love you and never would want to see you in stress because of me... What is bothering you? Please tell me..." Arnav begged her...

"Did you ever I mean? Were any of your girlfriends ever too close to you to...?" She didn't know how to ask him without offending him... It is his past and his own choices back then but she is forced to ask since it is trying overshadow into her present and future...

"Too close to do what?" He asked her raising his eyebrow...

"Too close to eat jilebis together?" She asked... What am I even saying and thinking, her heart chided...

"Jilebis, I am diabetic Khushi... Jilebis, like seriously?" Arnav laughed it off...

"No Khushi, never... I was never so close to anyone after my Mom, Nani and Di... Only Aman and NK kept me sorted throughout my school, college and initial phase of building AR... I might have dated few girls here and there but never came close to anyone to even kiss..." Arnav genuinely confessed...

"Would you believe me when I say you are my first love in every sense? In spite of Casanova image created by media and I allowed it not knowing the future consequences..." Arnav looked into her eyes...

"I believe you... Even if you have had a past, I won't dig it ever as long as it stays past... I promise Arnav... It's just that I am new to your world..." Khushi rested her head in relief that Sheetal was totally lying and she will show her the door...

"And you say you Devi Mayya brought us together right? Then didn't she tell you that you are tied with me for 7 lives and you have no other choice? You believe it about the marriage rituals right? See, even I remember" Arnav kissed her on forehead reassuring her again and again...
