Chapter 51 - Aman Saves the Day!

"Saale Saheb, what is all this? What are you trying to achieve by calling Sheetal to stay here? Don't upset Khushi by any of your actions... She is my sister too and you will be answerable to me... Wife and family are any day more important than some old fling..." Shyam didn't hesitate to warn Arnav directly without beating around the bush...

"Chote, how can you be so stupid?" Anjali was not behind either...

"Stop it Di and Jiju... Trust me, I really didn't invite Sheetal here... Why would I ever? You know how hard I try to stay away from her? I didn't promise her a job either... I really love Khushi and I would never do anything to jeopardize our relation..." Arnav explained...

"Oh really? But you never opened your mouth when Sheetal said you invited her... Very smart Arnav, great going" NK was also angry...

"Looks like you wanted her to stay here so you couldn't open your mouth... Why don't you go and explain that to your wife? She will easily understand after your behavior at the party yesterday... Entertaining that clingy ****..." Even La were equally sarcastic...

"What the? Shut up NK ad La..." Arnav angrily walked upstairs looking for Khushi...

Arnav found Khushi sitting next to the pool with gift wraps around her...

"Lovely gifts Khushi? Is that your neighbor Bakelal?" He asked her...

"Oh my god Arnav, I didn't introduce you both to each other... How can I even forget? I was so busy and lost I guess... Yes, he is Bakelal, my childhood friend and neighbor... He is finally back after completing his education in USA... He also got his business degree from Harvard recently..." Khushi told him...

"I see, nice... Introduce us next time..." Arnav saw her mood was elated after talking about her friend...

"Why are you so lost?" Arnav wanted to start conversation about Sheetal fiasco but did not know how...

"Nothing, I am just fine... In fact better after opening these wonderful gifts..." Arnav hated it that he made her upset but her friend made her feel better... Khushi made sure not to start Sheetal topic...

"Khushi, I just wanted to talk to you regarding Sheetal and her kid..." He made her look at him...

"I am listening" Khushi looked into his eyes...

"Khushi I never invited her to come and stay with us. I mean why would I do that? And I haven't even offered her a job either... Sure she complained about her problems to stay in hotel but still I never..." He was watching her reaction and hopeful she wouldn't burst out at him...

But he saw Khushi was totally calm... Is it a good or a bad sign, he was worried...

"Arnav, since you didn't clarify this in front of her and everyone back there, we all felt you indeed invited her and I did not want to disrespect your decision... You kept quiet out there so I felt she is still very important to you and so we will adjust somehow... And it's a matter of few days hopefully..." Khushi hid her feelings for now and replied in a serious tone... She just wished she could blast her dumb husband... But throwing Sheetal out was her highest priority...

"But Khushi, I really didn't. And she is not important to me at all... She isn't even a close friend..." Arnav pleaded her to listen...

"Isn't it too late to discuss this? She is already here with her luggage and we had no choice but to offer her to stay... OP is cleaning the outhouse as we speak... What do you want to do now? You tell me..." Khushi was not sure what he expects from her now...

Khushi was amazed instead of talking to her, he should talk to Sheetal and send her to some hotel or make arrangements in employee quarter... What does he really want? Is he confused, she didn't know...

Does he still have a soft corner for Sheetal and wanted to help out knowing she is a single mom? Does he still like her or just likes working with her? Maybe they both are those typical Harvard geeks who work endless hours... She was not sure what to conclude... All she knew was how much ever she dislikes the thought and feels insecure or irritated that the other woman who was in her husband's life before her is going to stay in her own house and she cannot do absolutely anything about it... She felt insane realizing he might have done some of the things he did to her last night... He was so crazily possessive about her but was he the same before with anyone else or that Sheetal? The thought itself made her shiver... Does he even realize what he is making her go through by having Sheetal in their house?

Khushi waited for his response... Even he was lost thinking about it...

"I will talk to her in office... Will ask her to figure out her staying arrangements as soon as possible..." Arnav assured her...

"So she will be here this weekend I guess. Then let OP continue cleaning guest house... I have some work in the kitchen... Jiju wanted his favorite veggie dishes for lunch... Hope your friend will manage the food cooked by me..." Khushi got up and left... She didn't want to be with him when she is still mad at him... She could easily blast him for expecting to entertain Sheetal over the weekend... But felt little relieved at least he would talk to her on Monday and did not show any interest in Sheetal staying with them...

Arnav could clearly see how mad Khushi is and followed her downstairs to talk to Sheetal... After they have been through so much, he did not want to cause her any more pain... Khushi had her own worry, now that Arnav told her he will talk to Sheetal, she did not want Aman to suddenly enter and talk about the accommodation... She desperately wanted to talk to Aman and salvage the situation else Arnav will feel she does not trust him... Her womanly instinct versus Arnav's trust, she couldn't let go both...

"Hi ASR, Hi Khushi" Aman entered RM before Khushi could text him... She was really worried now...

"Hey, what brings you here Aman?" Arnav asked him...

"I think ASR is forgetting things... Khushi, especially after marriage... Good change I must say..." Aman teased ASR... He could afford to do it in front of family...

"I just came to hand over Suraj project file. We have meeting with them first thing Monday and you wanted to review the project remember?" Aman replied before Khushi could say anything... Khushi let go her breath feeling relaxed...

"Aman, why don't you join us for lunch and talk about your work later guys..." Anjali invited Aman to join for lunch...

"Oh yeah sure, who will miss yummy food made by Khushi?" Aman walked in...

Everyone was still there, La and NK, Diya and Ankit were also back... Di, Jiju and Naniji also were there... It kept HP, OP and their wives on toes since morning... And Khushi herself was busy too catering to everyone's needs and wanting to serve them variety of dishes...

"So what's the menu Khushi?" Aman asked...

"Awadhi Paneer, Dum Aloo Kashmiri, Spinach Undhio, and Veggie layer Biryani, salad and raita and mixed parathas... Khushi announced the menu...

"Wow, I am glad to drop in today... "HP expanded the dining table to accommodate everyone...

And then Aman saw Sheetal and her son Aarav walking into the dining area...

"Hi Sheetal, how come you are here? I didn't know you were here too..." Aman acted curious even though he could clearly guess, but he was curious to know Sheetal's version. He always hated Sheetal for her lies, cheapo and clingy behavior...

"Oh, Aarav here got bored to stay in a small room at the hotel... And plus it was difficult to get Nanny there while I go out looking for a job or an apartment. So ASR suggested..." Sheetal was again going to throw the same lie to all...

"Sheetal, it very weird that I remember you telling me all this but somehow do not remember inviting you here... I mean no offense, but we already have family at home... You know how important Di, Jiju are for me so I have never invited any friends during the time Di visits us..." Arnav shunned her...

Everyone was shocked... Di and La smirked at each other thinking at last common sense prevailed in Arnav...

"Oh ASR, maybe you don't remember. We talked while you were drinking... Never mind, now that I am here I will prefer to stay until I get an apartment..." Sheetal had no shame at all...

The whole family looked at her with disgust...

"Oh Sheetal, consider your problem solved right now..." Aman stood in front of her smirking...

"Why? I mean how?" Sheetal was worried now...

"You know I am in charge of employee quarters management right? The manager Rohit is on vacation and so security called me to hand over one bedroom apartment keys that got vacant today... So you can take that... It's a nice one bedroom apartment and you will easily get Nanny for your son, cook and cleaners there by just asking neighbors... Plus Aarav will have other kids and play areas in the society to play... You will be all set" Aman explained...

"Oh" Sheetal's face was crestfallen...

"Fantastic Aman, Sheetal has not yet moved into outhouse since OP was still cleaning so she can go with you directly there... Take her with you and hand her the keys..." Arnav told Aman...

"Sheetal, anyways I was about to talk to you... I really do not remember inviting you here in the first place especially when my family is visiting us and knowing Nani's culture practices, I don't think you will fit in here. Nani is already sick and I don't want to stress her. Plus I and Khushi are newly married couple, wanting to spend time together so entertaining friends is not the list for maybe for another twenty years... Hope you understand..." Arnav smiled sheepishly and clarified Sheetal in no nonsense tone.

The clear communication from Arnav definitely elated family's mood and Khushi was pleasantly surprised too...

Sheetal has no choice but to keep quiet... And here I thought I had a full proof plan, her heart chided her... Let me get the job under ASR first and then I will occupy him at work, she promised herself...

Lunch was a delicious affair with everyone praising Khushi for her cooking skills...

"But ASR, you like Italian, seafood and meat mostly..." Sheetal commented... Everyone somehow expected her not to appreciate Khushi's cooking but purposely divert his attention...

La fisted her both hands and wanted to reply but NK stopped her letting Arnav to handle it...

"Sheetal are you crazy? We never eat non-veg inside RM... That's Nani's rule... And Khushi herself is a vegetarian... But she cooks amazing chicken and fish dishes... I am yet to figure out how she can cook meat to perfection without even touching it... East or west, my wife is the best... Plus she does cook meat often in the outhouse... And I must admit I love Indian food these days and the blends of coffee that she makes exclusively for me... In fact I was forced to read and understand more of coffee blends just to keep up with her and recognize the flavors..." Arnav smiled looking at Khushi and showed off how proud he is of his wife... Khushi smiled back...

"Sheetal, go look at our kitchen, it's the state of art kitchen with latest hi-tech gadgets... We exclusively built her dream kitchen together knowing how naturally talented Chef she is... My Khushi is a 7 star level Chef and recently won India's Master Chef... Are you even aware of what's latest in the news?" Arnav really never shied away from showing how big fan he is of his wife...

"I agree with ASR... Khushi here can make you fall in love with all types of food and not just one type of cuisine... Her attention to details and acute sense of spices is out of this world..." Ankit also added...

"No one can argue when it comes to cooking, Khushi is the boss..." Di, La and Diya smiled and hugged Khushi...

Sheetal quickly realized the whole house is big fan of Khushi and danced to her tune... She just smiled...

"By the way Khushi, what did you say to Karan about your marriage...? He seemed totally fascinated Aman teased Khushi and looked at ASR..." Of course being his school time friend, Aman sure knows their silly rivalry.

NK and Ankit hi-fied and smiled at Khushi showing thumbs up... Of course they were there to watch live discussions last night... Arnav became angry again and fisted his hands to control his anger...

"The joke of the century is the biggest Casanova of this planet Karan is now thinking about marriage... All thanks to your gorgeous wife... Seems like you guys are carrying on your silly rivalry forever... At least from his side... ASR, believe it or not, he still follows you to the T..." Aman laughed out loud...

No one else could clearly understand what is going on... But they could see Arnav really angry...

"ASR, don't worry... Jokes apart, Karan really admired Khushi for the immense love she has for you... And he just said it forced him think about having a real life partner..." Aman smiled at ASR's reaction...

"Yeah Khushi, yesterday you made me let go of our differences... Diya and I talked overnight... I have invited her mom to come next week and we will discuss about our marriage and take things further" Ankit announced...

"Shut up Ankit, you guys cannot get engaged before me and La..." NK looked at La mischievously and asked her if she is ready...

"What the?" Came Arnav's usual dialogue...

"I mean yeah its obvious right? La and I have been dating for a while now... So if she is ready, I want to get engaged as soon as possible and marry her" NK smiled...

"For that you have to propose and ask me first? And not declare like this?" La hit him on his shoulder...

"I am asking now in front of the whole family... I am no longer afraid of commitment nor can anyone else ever makes me feel crazy in love like you... La, will you marry me? I am no ASR to propose you with tons of words but I will be committed to you for life... You will get bored of me but I will never... I really love you... So will you marry me?" NK asked her going down to his knees...

"Yes NK, I love you too" La hugged him tight...

Everyone congratulated both the couples... Naniji blessed them all...

Now Asr need to banish Sheetal from AR too, no job for Sheetal.. otherwise Asr will be still in doghouse.. awesome story

finally sheetal is going to out of RM. loved the way family supported khushi & praised her in front of that sheetal. I wish in our serial also instead of entertaining that sheetal& her spoilt brat son they supported our khushi. update soon.
