Love Makes You Crazy -Kanuma SS (14 Parts Complete)

Uma Shankar stood infront of the open window, the wind carried its presence through the house, sharp and strong, an undeniable force.
"Dadusa, are you crying" voiced Suman.
Uma turned to face her "no, the wind just got in to my eyes"
Palomi walked forward, resting her hand on Suman's shoulder , Uma walked away from the room as Suman looked on in sadness.

"I think Dadusa is reminiscing Bhabisa , it has been a year since she passed"
Palomi's eyes widened as she dug her nails into Suman's shoulder "Uma does not miss her anymore, and she is not your Bhabisa, i will be your Bhabisa" shouted Palomi.
Suman's eyes filled with tears as she ran from the room.


Falling on her knees, she looked up at the picture of Kanak, a garland lay upon the photo. "Please come back Bhabisa, this house isnt a home without you"


Somewhere far away, in an asylum for the mentally ill a woman sat on a bed with her hair covering her face. The scent of chandan drifted from her , to all corners of the asylum near and far.

Please review, this is my first shot at a story on Kanak and Uma and if you enjoy it, i will continue!

The phone rang loudly, Uma walked toward it, wrapping his fingers around the phone he picked it up.
"Hello, may i please speak to Mr Uma Shankar" a male voice spoke.
"Speaking, how can i help you"
"My name is Arjun, i run a hospital for the mentally insane, we have a female patient here who has an injury and has asked for an aryuvedic doctor"

Uma sighed heavily "i dont treat female patients , im sorry"
As Uma went to hang up, Arjun spoke again "just once please, i will forever be in your favour, even if you just oversee it"
Uma thought for a while "Okay, i will instruct your doctors what to do"



The next morning Uma left for the hospital.
All morning he felt a strange feeling of unease and couldn't stomach any food.
On arrival , Uma signed it at the reception as he looked at a man hold out his hand.
Uma put both of his together as Arjun smiled back "follow me Uma"


Uma stopped suddenly as the strong smell of chandan assaulted his senses.

*FLASHBACK*
"How many times do i have to tell you, Maasi sa isnt as good as she seems, she"
Uma interrupted Kanak, his eyes ablaze "Enough! Enough of all this drama, get away from me and my family, i was stupid to think that Shiv Ji's sign was for me to marry somebody like you, again you insult someone who is more than god for me"

Kanak's eyes filled with tears "you really want me to leave"
When Uma didnt answer Kanak walked away from the house, not once did she turn back, not once did somebody stop her.

Later on, Kanak's dead body was recognised by her brother Ved.
The rickshaw had an oil leak and had burnt, leaving Kanak dead.

*FLASHBACK OVER*


"Uma, Uma are you okay" Arjun said as he shook Uma's shoulder.
Shaking his head he smiled "yes, just an old memory"
Arjun nodded " anyway the patient is in here"
Uma pushed the door open, he focused on the woman who faced the other way, her long brown hair trailed down her back.

Uma took a deep breath in as he watched Arjun go to face her.
"Chandana, your doctor is here"
Uma looked confused "because she smells like chandan"
Arjun nodded.


Chandana turned to face Uma.
Uma gasped in shock as the face of his one and only love looked back at him.
"Kanak" Uma muttered.

"Sorry who" questioned Arjun
Uma pointed towards Chandana "That is, that is Kanak, my Kanak"
Stepping forward he placed his hands on her cheeks, allowing his forehead to lay on hers, he whispered lowly "i thought i had lost you"


Suddenly Uma was shoved back.
Chandana looked toward him "mad man, mad man" she screamed as she began to sob.
Arjun pulled Uma outside "what the hell was that"
Arjun had come to greatly care for his patient, and seeing this man put her in a position of distress irked him like no other.

"Her name is not Chandana, her name is Kanak and she is my wife, i thought i lost her in an accident, but there she is , in that room. Shiv Ji has returned her to me"
Arjun looked on perplexed "Chandana suffers from memory loss and when in distress she will act out, we found her a year ago, with severe burns on her back "

Uma nodded "yes, she got burnt, please you have to let me see my wife"
Arjun nodded slowly before opening the door for him. "Remember one thing, take it slow, she must be allowed to remember you in her own time"
Uma nodded before walking in.

"Kanak"
Chandana looked up "thats not my name"
Uma looked apologetic "im sorry, you just look like " Uma shook his head "forget it"
Sitting infront of her, he realised he had many things to say, but words were not enough, then he remembered she asked for an aryuvedic doctor.

That meant there was a part of him in her memory.
Thanking Shiv Ji quietly Uma smiled.
"You needed a doctor "
She nodded "i hurt my wrist, i was climbing that tree outside, but Arjun said you dont treat women"
Uma smiled "This time, i will make an exception"

Chandana shivered as his cold fingers touched her wrist, rubbing some kind of ointment on there she felt her wrist loosen up and smiled up at him when she felt relief.
"Wow you are a good doctor Mr Shankar"

Uma smirked cheekily "are you sure you didnt mean Daku Singh"
Chandana frowned before shaking her head.
"In time youll remember " Uma said as he walked out to wash his hands.



Aditya sat infront of the video camera, glaring as he saw the two lovers finally reunited.
He knew then and there he had to do something and quickly.
This time Kanak would not survive.

When Uma walked out of the bathroom, his Kanak was nowhere to be found.
"Kanak" he shouted, there was no reply.
"Chandana" still no reply.

Running toward the door he tried to pull it open.
Aditya lay against the door on the other side as he smiled and walked away.
Uma focused on the padlocks attatched to the door.
He questioned who could do this, but the unease within me made him focus.

He had to break those locks and save the woman he couldn't save before.


"Kanak, Kanak, Kanak" Aditya said "or should i say Chandana"
Crossing his arms he walked forward as he watched his men tie her wrists up to the ceiling.
Stuffing a cloth in her mouth, he leant forward "theres no one to save you now"
Kanak's eyes rolled over as Aditya started the electro shock therapy and walked away.


Uma grabbed the vase as he bashed it into the locks.
Gasping in relief he pulled the door open and ran towards the smell of chandan.
"Kanak, Kanak"
Removing the electrodes from her head he cut open the ties on her wrist.
Removing the cloth from her mouth he allowed her to fall into his arms.


It was early hours of the morning when Kanak had woken up.
Uma stood by her side, offering her water, praying for her safety.
Kanak wondered why this man cared for her this much.
"I will kill whoever has hurt you" Uma promised.

Kanak tried to pull herself up as Uma helped her "why do you care so much for me"
Uma sighed, he couldnt wait any longer "your name is Kanak, and you are my wife"
