Chapter 40 - The Finale!

Slowly all the contestants walked on the stage...

There were three tables set... One for Mrs. Dalal, one for Khushi and one for Nirav. The remaining contestants were also involved. Simran was Khushi's helper, Pooja was with Nirav while Kumar geared up to assist Mrs. Dalal...

All three were supposed to make only one dinner veggie dish and a dessert...

Mrs. Dalal decided to go with her signature dish Undhio (Gujrati mix vegetables) and nuts pudding with rose flavor. She froze it in small rose shaped cups to serve it as roses with green pistachios... Authentic taste with a beautiful presentation...

Nirav made mushroom, cottage cheese Korma as his main dish and rainbow ice cream with multiple flavors... He managed to make variety of ice creams so fast and his presentation was also equally innovative.

Khushi felt relief after Arnav assured her their marriage is real... A major burden lifted from her chest, she could focus much better today, totally and excited and geared up for the finale...

She made Mughlai Veg with mixed veggies and cottage cheese reshami kabab... She cut all the vegetables long, thin and cooked them in Mughlai style and stuffed it in kababs making it a unique presentation... For dessert she made popular Indian ice cream, Falooda but instead of rose flavor, she tried a twist with a coffee flavor...

She used caramel mocha ice coffee with French Vanilla ice cream and noodles... For additional flavors she used tinch of strawberry and rose mixed essence and served with a strawberry on top...

Judges had the toughest day and decision to make... Khushi's dessert and presentation score top where as Mrs. Dalal has the authentic taste going for her... Nirav wasn't behind either, the judges loved the ice-creams he made in such a short span of time...

"It's hard for us to decide... Mrs. Dalal and Miss. Khushi Gupta have tied in scores to top... Master Chef Vikas declared...

"Maybe it's time for Veto votes... What do you say ASR and Mr. Roy? Ankit looked at Arnav and Mr. Roy, the producer of the show.

"I may not be the best person to judge... I can eat well and understand tasty food... But not the best to manage intricate details in food to judge people..." Mr. Roy laughed it off and backed off...

Arnav was in big time trouble...

"Mr. Roy, you escaped easily putting me in big trouble... Just great..." Everyone laughed at ASR's comment...

"What can I say? Unfortunately I should be the last person to judge... Though I have skills to judge them, I might end up being biased... Mrs. Dalal has been my mom's friend when we were in Lucknow and I practically grew up eating her dishes... She is like my second mom... How can I even judge her?" Arnav specified and there were loud claps...

"Arnav, my boy... I love you so much..." Mrs. Dalal always loved him and never hesitated to show...

"And then about Khushi, my day does not start without her coffee and does not end without her dessert... Yeah, she is an expert in non-sweet desserts which a diabetic person like me can eat... And everyone here has seen her penchant for using her coffee flavors... She is an amazing cook and the best young talent I have seen so far... I love everything she makes... And I cannot be unfair to Nirav just because I don't know him much..." There was a pin drop silent after ASR spoke about Khushi making people wonder what he really meant... Even Khushi gasped with surprise... All other judges looked at him trying to understand what he is saying...

Only one question was on everyone's mind, how does the great Arnav Singh Raizada know Miss. Khushi Kumari Gupta so well personally?

"So bottom line is I am sorry but I cannot vote for any one of them... I might end up being biased... I would suggest you revisit your scores to decide who the winner is, or take it the streets and get 10 tasters opinion and votes... Or guess what, declare both of them winners... One represents our mother's generation and one represents young India... Both are equally great and it's a win-win situation..." Again everyone applauded ASR's suggestion and there were loud claps...

Media reporters were whispering about ASR's mention about Khushi... He openly said some things as if she is his family member or his personal cook or a wife... They were sure to ask him or question Khushi around it...

"I have seen ASR many times at Oberoi having lunch... Maybe we only focused on Ankit..." One of the reporters whispered...

"Whatever, ASR seems to be big fan of Khushi's cooking, we will ask them both about it later..." Another reporter suggested...

The judges discussed about the results again...

"With great pleasure, I am announcing the finale result" Ankit paused while all the judges were standing looking at him... He created the suspense...

"So here it is... Mrs. Dalal and Khushi both are combined winners! We just could not rate one better than the other... And we agree with ASR that they both represent perfect blend of two generations..." Ankit finally announced proudly.

"And Nirav has been just a few points behind and did extremely well for himself being second... We wish him all the best. Both Khushi and Nirav get job opportunity as a Chef in one of the 5 star Restaurants of their choice along with gift hampers and winning amount of Rs. 1 Crore and Rs. 75 Lakhs respectively. In fact remaining finalists as well get job in same restaurants, gift hampers along with Rs. 50 Lakhs prize money..." Ankit provided winner details of their awards...

"And big thanks to the great Arnav Singh Raizada, all the finalists now have additional job offers from Oberoi International 7 Star as well! It can't get any better" Ankit announced further. Both Pooja and Simran hi-fied in excitement...

Even Khushi and Nirav both jumped with so much excitement and hugged Mrs. Dalal who was standing between them... She congratulated both and hugged them...

All the finalists grouped together and they were standing in the middle of the stage when the celebrations started... Loud fireworks, confetti's flying all over the place, loud music, families and judges reaching out to all contestants and hugging them... It was happy chaos on the stage...

Khushi's parents, Nani, Anjali, NK and Lavanya all got on the stage... Everyone hugged Khushi and she was jumping like a little kid with excitement...

Arnav patiently waited for his turn... Then he simply hugged her tight and picked her up... Gave her a kiss on her forehead and whispered something in her ears... She turned red blushing like crazy... The reporters and live camera was capturing all the moments including ASR's PDA...

"Missions Accomplished Di!" Ankit whispered to Anjali when he hugged her in that crowd...

"Few hiccups but job well done" Anjali replied.

"And I am still in one piece... ASR did not shoot me or hit me luckily... I sure pushed him that far... The idiot deserved it..." Ankit joked about it...

"Jealousy always works with my bro... He is an idiot when it comes to love and relationships" Anjali smirked...

"Di, see you around..." Ankit moved on to meet other contestants...

Ankit talking to Anjali was not escaped from sharp eyes and mind of ASR... It was weird since Di never mentioned knowing Ankit ever... But the way they greeted spoke volume! He decided to ask his Di later as to how she knows Ankit Khanna...

They were all still on the stage celebrating event...

Khushi was as usual talking to her family animatedly explaining something especially to her Babuji while Arnav held her possessively with his hand around her waist... Khushi was shocked and looked at him...

"What?" He stood even closer and her Babuji could not help but smile...

"Nothing" She just felt shy and distracted after his hand touched her waist...

"Khushi, we will talk all this at home... You both carry on and meet everyone else..." Her father did not want Khushi to miss the opportunity to be with her husband... His experienced eyes have not missed the love brewing between the two... It's high time they profess their love, he prayed...

"What are doing Arnav? I was talking to Babuji and you..." She felt so shy and blushed hard...

"What? I am just being with my wife... Is that a problem? And Babuji is wise, he knows you should be spending time with me..." Arnav leaned even closer and replied smirking...

Khushi smiled back and thoroughly enjoyed attention showered by Arnav... She too was holding his hand possessively...

"Hey ASR, thank you so much..." Simran and Pooja both side hugged Arnav and thanked him personally. Even Kumar and Nirav thanked him...

"It's my pleasure..." Arnav replied happily...

"Oh ASR, we are such a big fan of yours and now even bigger fans, knowing you got us the Oberoi job offer..." Simran and Pooja stood next to him hovering over him... Girls took selfies with him... Khushi stepped back a little and glared at them... Arnav smirked looking at his jealous kitten...

"No problem girls, but now please excuse me..." He stepped towards Khushi and pulled her to him before she could walk away... All others watched him with surprise... ASR running after Khushi Gupta was a sight to see!

"Jealous, are we?" He whispered in her ears leaning closer...

"Jealous, my foot... Never..." Khushi lied through her teeth and was angry that he could catch her red handed...

"Never, really? But I always get jealous and possessive when it comes to you baby... Make sure not to let me go crazy, pretty please" He brushed his lips to her left cheek almost pecking her... She blushed red...

By then many people on stage and reporters have seen how ASR was holding Khushi and how he hugged her while picking her up and how he kissed on her forehead... His PDA was for all to see and to talk about... Khushi seemed to be expecting him to be around her and was clinging to him all the time...

Finally we are getting near towards the revelation. Khushi deserves his attention
