AB: Fasting is fine, you do if you want to. But no non-veg or booze in the house for 9 days!!! And on Dussehra & Diwali.

I do observe fasts 😃 😳
In out home we stop using onion garkic, non veg etc since Sharads followed by Navratre. And, even on Tuesdays and Saturday, no onion garlic or non veg in the house.

SFM: Navratre so no non-veg. And we don't eat much non-veg. Just not in the mood usually, half the people in my family are pure vegetarian, other half aren't big on meat.. Love sea-food. We are pseudo-Bengalis. 😆

SIH: Nah it sounds a lot. It isn't. My Mum makes medium quantities 😆 , we are from R'thaan but she only makes this a few times a year, lol. Sometimes also makes safed maas/ jungal kaa maas.. We've the same damn menu because we've always had this. Super-annoying.

I am a pure vegetarian 😆 i stopped eating non veg when i was 13 because animal cruelty is big no no for me 😳
And, moreover Navratre were going on so non veg kya hanare waha onion garlic bhi use nahi hota. 😆

what a coincidence..i stopped eating meat at 13 also.

However started again at 14.

I thought deep about cruelty...killing living things to eat. then i realized that plants have living things..the i decided to live in water..but i realized even in water there are living organisms...then i stopped drinking water...i got unwell..therefore i had to eat. i am doing it with pain in heart. i m a good person also.

Before that I ate 1 pomegranate and 1 kitkat chocolate . 😃

i was known as a pomogranate in school...

there is a saying..ek anaar sau beemar

i was given this title not because i looked like anaar...because it was one hippo and 100s of girls were crazy for him...

some also say ek hippo sau pahinkoo ke barabar hai..

I am getting this feeling that if this site acted like skype then we would definitely have seen a situation where one was typing how i am a veg and i dont eat meat anymore and then suddenly something drops on the mouse and it ends up clicking video button and member is seen wrestling with chicken or mutton. oops it was not me...my sister was sitting with me. i had aloo ki sabzi with puri..big burp follows

i dont know i have that feeling lol

Hadia, navratre means the 9 days before Dushhera and are considered the most auspicious days of the year in which fasts are observed and Goddess Durga /Shakti is worshipped. They are celebrated on different ways in different regions of India. There are two legenda associated with Navratre 1: killing of the demon Mahishasur and 2: Lord Rama prayed and observed fast to Maa Durga for 9 days to help him kill Ravana and he did that on the tenth day which is called Dushhera.
These 9 days represent the nine forms of Maa Durga called the NavDurga. 😳

So there is fasting in Hinduism as well. good. fasting is good for health. it keeps u off booze and cigss ...too lol
