LA, I am surprised you listed point 3, were you not assuming that Saturday maha episodes on occasions like some festivals(last year Ganesh Chaturthi) brought down the TRPs for that entire week..
So you think BARC considered such one off weekend telecasts for calculating ratings but didnt consider the 45 mins episodes last week??
In TV terms, mahaepisodes on week days are usually handled as 1 hr episodes, similarly weekend special episodes are aired mostly as 1 or 2 hr special ones, so happen to read somewhere earlier that channels do send intimations to media and rating agencies couple of weeks in advance as part of their marketing process to highlight such special episodes. If we can recollect, when KKB earlier aired maha episodes during Feb and Jul 2017 those were promoted along with dates and duration specified as 1 hr in promos that too much well in advance, and in addition Zee released official press notes intimating media about this change 2-3 weeks in advance. 😊
However this time it wasn't the same, till some of us saw TOI schedule posted for Mon Sep 18th, most KKB viewers weren't even aware that Zee is airing KKB for 45 mins instead of 30 mins, Mon to Wed similarly Zee doesn't seem to have intimated media or agencies in advance this time. So I had a valid reason to express my doubt. 😛
Eg. Colors channel sometimes overnight changes time slots or extends its prime time daily shows each by 10mins without prior announcement. Have noticed overall channel manages to benefit in its total viewership and ad slots, but TRP's of individual shows do get impacted in the BARC chart owing to slot corrections. Seems BARC measurement system across GEC's in different languages mostly considers week day shows as 30 or 60 or 90 or 120 mins duration slots.😳
