I want to see KR as Manikarnika , because I didn't see much strength in Padmavati or Padmini

Secondly, among current generation, I choose Yami, Not because I am a fan, But I see her to be the most beautiful face these days, She has the acting chops too. So yeah my pick will be Yami

Waheeda Rehman undoubtedly...be it looks and acting dept...

other actress:

can't say all the actress below could have pulled off a Rajasthani char as far as acting is concerned...

Madhubala,Aishwariya,Madhuri and Hema Malini would have been easily convincing in that role in their prime ...

looks wise both Madhubala and Aishwariya r exceptionally beautiful...Madhubala is ok,not much known for acting...Aishwariya did a good job as a queen but here there would b many intense scenes,doubtful of her pulling off those scenes...

even Madhuri would have looked good and is a good actor...

lookswise Hema Malini but her acting...

With the following actress depends on how the directors present them and also how they groom themselves and prepare for the role...no one thought abt Hrithik as a king but he pulled that off so convincingly...

it would have been experimental with Juhi and Sonali...they looked beautiful in traditional look but as queen whether they could have pulled that off would b interesting...and Juhi is a good actress can't say much abt Sonali,she is ok...

from current actresses...

Yami has the looks...feel that she would be a good choice as a queen...Aditi too...maybe put on some weight in her case...both r decent actress...

DP is a good choice but didn't like the unibrow look...maybe it will take some time to get used to it...

Yesteryears.. Many from different generations..

Currently Ankita lokhande, chitrangada Singh would totally suit the part.. Sonam, sonakshi would look ethereal

Fans of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been waiting for Padmavati for a while now. The film has already seen its share of controversies and delays so the interest is but natural. A few days ago, Ranveer and Deepika's look was released amidst much excitement. Deepika looks stunning in her Rani Padmini avatar but here is a little exclusive detail we have dug out for you.

If sources are to be believed, then the unique unibrow look of Rani Padmavati is inspired by Kajol. According to sources, the look of Rani Padmini was finalised when both Deepika and Sanjay Leela Bhansali agreed that the unibrow gives a special look and feel to the character. The rumours were doing the rounds for some time but it was confirmed when the posters of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film were released.

Incidentally, paintings of Rani Padmavati are mostly from a side profile and those that depict her face never portray her with a unibrow. However, this was a cinematic liberty taken by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. "The story goes that Sanjay wanted to cast Kajol in a film about 15 years back when she had just entered Bollywood. However, things didn't work out then between them," says a source.

Recently during a video interview on a Facebook live session, Kajol was asked if she considers herself as a Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine. To everybody's astonishment, Kajol said she was not sure if she would be the right person for him. "Yeah. Sure. No two ways about it but I don't know if I will have the right presence of mind or perfection of posture to be a Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine, Kajol said. Surely it didn't work out for them then but it seems the memories of Kajol have been brought back through Deepika's styling in Padmavati. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has always maintained in his interviews that he considers Kajol as one of the most powerful actresses in Bollywood. Perhaps this cinematic liberty by Sanjay is one of the most fitting tributes to one of his favourite heroines.
