Sasha - Please Advay I promise it's the last time we would be visiting a gynecologist. She is the most renowned doctor and is known for treating women like me who are unable to bear children. She is said to have a healing touch. I wish to have children of my own. Only for my sake, please undergo the tests tomorrow
Advay (wiping her tears) - It's only because of you I am carrying out the tests. Otherwise, I will be really happy if we go for an adoption and give a child the same love and affection
It so happened that since few months Sasha had been facing irregular monthly cycles. Hence, she visited a gynecologist who advised her few tests and sonography and that is when it came in light that she had ulcers in her ovary which had made her womb weak to carry a child. She was shattered at the realisation but Advay always assured her that it really didn't matter to him and that they would be better off without a child. But Sasha continued consulting specialists in search of a hope that she would never be deprived of the boon to bear a child. Some days back her friend had forwarded her the contact number of Dr. Khanna who was famous for rekindling the hopes of women like her. Within no time she took an appointment for next week as the doctor resided in Mumbai. Sasha explained her medical history and current condition to Dr. Khanna's assistant over a video chat. She also emailed her previous reports to the doctor. 2 days later she received a reply wherein she was to undergo some further tests and somewhere few tests were also recommended for the partner or husband of the woman.
Sasha knew it would hurt Advay's ego but she somehow convinced him by blackmailing emotionally to act upon the suggested tests even though it was not needed at the moment. Advay reluctantly agreed but was firm on his decision to adopt a child in case Sasha's results were still negative. A week later they flew down to Mumbai and were presently seated in the waiting room. Sasha tightly fisted the reports in her hand and prayed continuously. Advay held her hand and calmed her. The receptionist informed that they were the next in line. When they entered the cabin, the chair was empty and the sound of running water echoed in the cabin. Assuming that the doctor was in the washroom, they both seated themselves and patiently waited. The door clicked open and a woman wearing a long kurti and palazzo pants exited the washroom wiping her face. When she removed the napkin from her face and saw the couple sitting in her cabin she was stunned.
Advay and Sasha were shocked out of their wits to see Chandini here. This means she was Dr. Khanna. He was seeing her after 8 long years. He hadn't met her since that day.
Past...
The day Advay brought his so called fiance in his house Chandini knew it was time to leave. She was fine by Dev hurting her as she knew one day she would unveil this fake facade he had plastered and win him back since she considered him to be a part of her. She was aware that he had brought her home to torture her mentally and emotionally. But he had underestimated her. She was fine with him not admitting their marriage but to be insulted on a daily basis by his fiance was completely unacceptable. Keeping her self respect intact and raising her chin high, she chose to exit his life. Before departing, she just asked him to tell the complete truth of what happened in the past as to what was her fault. Advay though wanted to stop her but he remembered her betrayal every damn time. It was a fact that he had only loved her, she was the only woman to acquire a special place in his heart. He knew even if they stayed under same roof they can never become one, hence it was better for both of them to let the other live in peace. Though their separation again pained him he effectively hid it from her by putting up an indifferent face. And today when she demanded to know the incidents of past he couldn't help but become the same 14 year old Dev. As he finished narrating the accounts of past, he saw a raging fire in her eyes and she shoved him rudely.
Chandini - How could you? How the hell can you hold me responsible for your parents' death. I said what I saw. I did see your mother flying in air. Regarding showing our hideout, I just informed my mom when she asked me your whereabouts. How would I know what were they plotting against you and your family? I never knew that they were killed so brutally. I agree that somewhere my talks did instigate the incident, but you still can't accuse a 6 year old for such heinous crime. There is only one truth Dev that is today you lost my trust, respect and love. I seriously don't regret my decision of leaving you now.
A week later Chandini herself filed a case against her step mother and her sisters for conspiring the killing of Kashyap family inorder to gain the treasure in the Shiv temple. Soon the decision was announced and her namesake family was behind the bars. Advay already regained his house but Chandini also returned all the property papers which were on her and her sister' name. She also apologised to Nani for her famiy's deeds. Advay never expected her to such drastic step against her loved ones. He was shocked yet happy that the justice was done. Hope ignited within him that he and Chandini could give their relation a second chance. After much contemplations, when he finally mustered the courage to speak to her, he received a notice from the court and was stunned to read its contents.Advay's whole world came crashing down in seconds. Chandini had filed for annulment of their marriage since she believed it to be out force, coercion and fraud. Though their marriage wasn't registered, but they did solemnise their marriage as per Hindu rituals. Hence, their martiage was legal. Chandini could have applied for a divorce but she knew he wouldn't agree to it especially now when the whole truth was out. Such was her disgust for this man now, that she never wished to be associated with him in any way not even as his 'EX WIFE'. Therefore, she preferred annulment as she had enough evidences, witnesses and grounds to prove that her marriage was nothing but a sham from the beginning.
Advay had realised his mistake in the meanwhile and how grave were the accusations he put up on Chandini. He mourned the loss of his only true relation which would be dead in a few days time. He knew none of his apologies could be able to heal the unbearable agony Chandini had endured. How harshly he had crushed her innocence. What a jest he had made of her pure love for him. How brutal he was to give her so much pain. And at that moment he knew, his redemption would be severe, rigorous, painful and moreover without Chandini by his side. He knew she would neither accept his apology nor him in her life again. Hence he knew, it was time to let her go and set her free.
The case was a simple one rather. Chandini proved that Advay had cheated her by disguising as ASR and married her only to quench his thirst for revenge. She also produced evidences regarding him being Dev and not Advay. Murali and Nani bore as witnesses and testified her claims and thay indeed this marriage was a lie. The decision was announced in her favour as the court upheld her wedding to be null and void.
Outside the court, Nani gave her blessings to Chandini as she informed that she would be leaving this city forever. His heart shattered in million pieces at this knowledge but he put up a brave face knowing that she would never turn back to him. Advay wished her luck for the future and hoped that she gets whatever she wishes. Curving her lips, she just replied "I hope to never see you again in my life". It's been 8 years since then everyday he would go to bed praying for her prosperity and safety and also reminding himself that he still loved her. But since a year, Nani's health wasn't keeping well and she wished to see him settled before she closed her eyes forever. He knew he couldn't love anybody else but reluctantly agreed to her wishes. Sasha had been by his side throughout this depressing period. He was aware of her love for him but never gave her false hopes. Though the attitude still prevailed, she had really toned down toa great extent. Now that he had made up his mind to settle, he couldn't really think of marrying an unknown girl whom he didn't know. Atleast life would be easier with a friend rather than a stranger. Hence, they got married 2 months back.
Present...
Advay couldn't believe that his Chandini was finally in front of him after 8 long years. He observed her keenly. She had gained a bit weight, was wearing loose clothes, trimmed her hair till shoulders and small red bindi on her forehead. She was still as beautiful as she was 8 years back. How he wished that everything to be fine and they be back in each other's life again. He saw an array of emotions running across her face. From shock to amaze to confusion to disappointment and finally a blank look shielding all those flicker of emotions.
Regaining her composure, Chandini made her way to her chair. No greetings, no welcome just a curt word
Chandini - Reports?
Sasha handed her the reports but suddenly her attention was diverted towards Advay who looked at Chandini lovingly and with a longing. Panic started to arise within her along with insecurity and fear of again losing out Advay to Chandini. Suddenly, she had forgotten as to why she was here and now her mind was drawing inferences of this coincidence. Without looking up, Chandini read both their reports and somewhere Advay felt her eyes softening.
Chandini - Miss Sasha, the ulcers in your ovary are actually ovarian cysts that produce cancer. That is the reason of the weakness of your womb. With proper medication and some prick sessions this is curable. Still your womb can't hold a baby for atleast 3 years. You can be fit to bear a child.
She could see Sasha's eyes twinkiling with joy and smiled a little. Afterall, she can very well understand that happiness. She didn't wish to continue further but unfortunately she had to
Chandini - But there is a problem
Sasha's smiled faded as her heart pounded as to what was going to come
Chandini - Your husband's reproductive organ is not healthy to produce enough sperm required to make a child.
Chandini saw them staring at each other with shock written on their faces.
Chandini - His reproductive organs have been damaged since the accident that took place 8 years back. He had one renal failure as well as that accident had harmed his reproductive organs as well. He can never become a father
Sasha's sobbed hard as she cried with the palms on her face. Advay who himself was shocked at the revelation gulped a lump in his throat as tried to comfort Sasha. Her wails grew louder while Advay patted her back and smoothed her hair. Chandini felt bad seeing her crying and handes her a glass of water
Chandini - Calm down Miss Shasha. Such things do happen in life. I really feel sorry. But you can't change things now. Instead, I would suggest you try and adopt a kid and be a great mother
Hearing Chandini's voice and consolation, irked Sasha as she thought Chandini was mocking her. Rudely, shoving away the glass she said in a enraged voice
Sasha - You don't feel sorry Chandini you pity me. Accept that you are enjoying my pain and vulnerability. I know you are very happy to see my plight. A woman whose husband deserted her after marrying her just for one night can never understand the happiness of having a child
Advay was mortified at Sasha's rudeness and was about to give her a piece of mind but his gaze fell on Chandini who appeared unaffected by her words. On the contrary she was smiling shaking her head. His trance was broken as a child of about 4 years came inside the cabin running shouting "Mom". In no time, Chandini bent down and scooped him in her arms.
Chandini - Anshhh...she squealed in delight
Ansh - Mammmaaa...he hugged her and she twirled him happily...the melodies of their laughter echoing in the room
And then entered a man in his early 30's ...Dr Prem Khanna...a psychologist by profession. When Chandini had moved to Mumbai, Prem's mother had spotted her sitting alone at a railway station, she immediately asked her to accompany Chandini to her house. With nowhere to go, Chandini took a shelter at Khanna's house. That is where he met Prem Khanna...her future husband. He was vivacious and jovial and his family was really warm. Initially she was hesitant and reserved around them but day by day her relunctance vanished and she started treating them as her own family. Similarly, her interactions with Prem increased and they turned best of friends. He was pursuing to be psychologist and was quite well versed in reading people's faces. He was right in guessing that she had a bitter past. And one day she bared her soul in front of him and he just hugged her tightly saying that he would always be there with her. He encouraged her to continue her studies and achieve her dream to become a doctor. During this course, she had realised that she had fallen for Prem but was unwilling to confess it fearing for another heartbreak. But when her studies were over, Prem went on his knees and proposed her for marriage. Within a year, they had a bundle of joy Ansh and another princess was on her way 4 months from now.
Prem entered the room and placed sloppy kiss on her right cheek and took Ansh in his arms
Prem - Jaan, how many times have I told you not to work this late and stress yourself. Though it is just 5 months, but you are a bit weak and you being a doctor yourself how can you be so careless. Today's work is done. This is the last patient, I will talk to your assistant she will reschedule your remaining appointments for tomorrow
Chandini knew how overprotective her hubby was. So didn't argue much.
Advay and Sasha stood rooted at their place and were staring at the little family as if they had seen a ghost. Sasha was the first to recover and realising how untrue her words were she took slow steps and exited the room. Slowly, Advay started to comprehend that Chandini was now Chandini Khanna. Advay guts clenched, heart broke and eyes shined with tears seeing that his Chandini was already someone else' since years and even had a child with him. Well, another one too. His fists clenched in anger and pain reflected on his face as to how possessively the man held her waist and kissed her. But he had lost those rights years back. He had destroyed his life by himself. He smiled a bit seeing that smile on her face for which he had been living all these years.
Chandini and her family made a move to leave and when Chandini reached the door she heard him saying
Advay - I am sorry
Chandini - I have forgiven...and...forgotten you long back
