When I watched KTH and LRL, I had clue what TRP meant. Even for IPK1, I was never bothered about TRP, but, because IPK3 was always judged for all right and wrong reasons, I ended up doing some research on the TRP system. Even if the TRP falls to 0.4, I will watch it till it's last episode only and only for that man who made me wait for 5 long years to get to see him on my screen every week day. Who knows what his plans are so I may not get to see him for next 5 years, so I want to use this opportunity as much as I can.😭
My mom always thought me that 'HATE' is a strong word and a dangerous emotion, so this has to be used in minimal and once when absolutely needed. But, the kind of hate I have witnessed for this show, Gul, ST and for that matter even Barun has shaken my belief about love and hate. People lose their loved ones to terrorism, accidents caused due to poor infrastructure, to chronic conditions with minimal medical help from the Government, what all and what not and yet they dont spew hate as much these people do/did for a show, afterall a SHOW. Wow !
When Barun signed up for this show, it was not titled IPK or was it pitched as a brand. It was probably SP's idea to use the brand to get some attention. Not sure who gained what from this, but fans who claimed it was the brand minus FL that made them boycott the show were faking it. Had it been the case, the FL of Tanhaiyaan could have had it easy, but even she was equally subjected to name calling and body shaming and this is extended to every person who is attached to the two people in reel and real life, so even IPK3 will be shutdown in a month or two, the hate will be extended to every damn show Barun will be a part of in the future.
Sometimes I feel Shivani is in a better place as compared to Barun. Post IPK3 shutsdown she can move on, act with a different person with absolutely no baggage but every female who will be approached to act with Barun will think twice before signing the show. If I was the head of star plus, I would dare not sign either of the leads from original IPK for any of the shows for the channel. Who wants to bear this level of hate, just to hire one actor
About IPK3: TRP audience have no clue about online love-hate saga, so if IPK3 was indeed presented well, with a good consistent story, decent costume, bearable bg score and talented ensemble cast, it would gain good TRPs, considering it's a prime time SP show. Gul and SP, in their effort to make it a franchise, killed the essence of the original show and the original story Barun had signed up for.
What next? As I mentioned to Sush and Bhavi yesterday, I want Barun to forget a person called Gul exists in this planet and sign up a show that does not remind us of ASR. Wish a story like Kai po che can be made in sabun land. No heroine for Barun, no pairing, no chemistry/physics/biology.. Peace 😃
