Epilogue

Days, weeks, months and years passed by and many things changed in Walia Mansion. Bringing home the sweet memories of Manali Bani and Jai were soon blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Maasi had died shortly after their return, so Nachiket also came and stayed in WM lending his hand in their business.He soon got married to a girl named Purva. And after all these years Walia Mansion was again lit up for a wedding ceremony.

Jai and Bani Walia stood hand in hand receiving and greeting guests and family members. Walia Mansion was shining like a second moon. The whole environment was beautifully decorated with elaborate carpets, rose and jasmine flowers, small festive lights and gold and red color everywhere. It was the wedding of Rano Walia daughter of Late Uday Walia and Krishna Walia. This was also going to be the biggest celebration they had after the death of their parents. Even though Rano had insisted on having something small Jai and Bani went out of their way and made it an occasion to remember for a lifetime.

The exotic smell of the incense and beautiful melody of Indian music flooded the room creating a refreshing and pure atmosphere. The wedding mandap was decorated with ethnic mirror work and satin cloth.

As the pundit started chanting the hymes Bani moved away from Jai to see how Rano was getting ready.

As Bani walked in the bedroom she saw Rano sitting in front of the mirror looking very beautiful in her wedding ghagra. It was a sandal color ghagra highlighted with pink cutwork border, embellished with sequins, stones and zardosi work in floral design. The dupatta was in green with stones and zari work on it.

Rano's Outfit:

"Kissi ki nazaar na laghe tume" Bani said putting a small dot of kajal behind her ears. She looked at Rano who was looking a little lost and sad. Knowing her thoughts she asked "You are missing mummy and daddyji right" Rano looked up and nodded. "Come with me" Bani said carefully making her stand up so that her dress doesn't get out of place. She walked Rano to the garlanded portrait of a smiling Krishna and Uday.

"See they are right here smiling at their little gudia" Rano looked at the photo and tears started swelling up her eyes….

"Na….don't cry Rano, how will they feel seeing their daughter cry on her wedding night….hmmmm…" Bani asked wiping her tears.

"I am sure they are watching us from above there and sending you their blessing" Rano hugged Bani and gently cried. Bani lovingly rubbed her back, she very well knew how it felt to not have your parents when something so important is happening in your life. After all she had also gone through the same experience.

"Now no more crying…" Bani said breaking apart.

"Mama….this came off" a little girls voice came. Bani looked behind Rano and saw her little girl Krishna fidgeting with the small dories of her blouse.

"Come her I will tie it for you" Bani said smiling at her. The little girl came running in to her mothers arm. Turing her around she tied them up for her and pulled up her lehenga which was falling down. Getting her dress fixed she kissed Bani then slightly tucked at Rano's dupatta as Rano bend down she kissed her also and immediately ran out.

Jai went around the hall personally thanking everyone for coming and also making sure they were comfortable. He looked at the mandap and saw Pushkar sitting there with his face covered with the sehra. He smiled remembering the moment when Pushkar announced to the family that he and Rano loved each other. Even though the family got small clues that something was cooking between Rano and Pushkar they remained quite till he told them. He still remembered how shaky Pushkar became when he had jokingly refused to give consent to their wedding. But in the end he was glad that Rano had chosen a life partner like Pushkar. He was a loving and efficient man who worked hard to accomplish his goals in life. Maybe that's why he now had his own company which was running very successfully.

Bani along with Jignyasa slowly walked Rano towards the mandap. Bani smiled at Jai as they walked past him. Making her properly sit next to Pushkar Bani went and joined Jai.
Immediately their little girl ran towards them and raised her hands indicating to be picked up. Pulling her chubby cheeks Jai picked her up in his arms.

The couple exchanged garlands and Rano shyly smiled at Pushkar as they sat back down for the other rituals to be completed.

Pushkar's Outfit:

After few minutes it was time for the kanyadam. As per Jai's request Aditya and Jignyasa stepped forward for the ceremony. Bani saw Jai's eyes getting moist as they gave away Rano's hand into Pushkar's. She squeezed his hand and Jai felt immensely better and happy for having her by his side. After tying Rano's dupatta and Pushkar's stole together they started taking the Saat Pheras.

Getting seated back down Pushkar put the Mangalsutra around Rano's neck followed by filling her maang with Sindoor. Everyone threw flowers at them as the ceremony ended. Krishna also did the same, as the flowers in her hand finished she picked some from the floor and started throwing at them again.

The bidai became quite a tearful event. Jai stood in the corner watching Rano and Pushkar taking everyone's blessing. He had to admit that it was really hard seeing Rano go from their home. He had never even imagined that his parents wouldn't be there for Rano's wedding. Everything had happened so fast that he was in total denial that their parents had passed away. He still remembered being in the accident spot where his father's car was crushed like a can. The blood stains, his father's broken watch, their almost burnt bodies he shuddered as the thoughts came back as fresh wounds.

"Jai….Jai" Bani called out shaking her husband's arm slightly.

"Haan…"

"Woh…..Rano is asking for you, she wants to meet you"

"I don't know Bani if I will be able to let her go"

"She had to get married one day or the other……. and she not going very far away from us, when ever we want we can met her" Jai nodded his head and went along with Bani.

Seeing Jai Rano ran towards him and hugged him tight…. "bhaiyya" she cried on his chest….Jai soothingly rubbed her back. Breaking apart he led her to the car where Pushkar was standing.

"Take care of her" Jai said in an almost cracked voice. "Always" Pushkar said smiling, and then helped Rano get into the car. Bani also went along with them so that Rano's proper welcoming could be done.

After all the guests left Jai carried a sleeping Krishna to her room. Gently laying her on the bed he changed her into her night suit. He was surprised that she didn't make a fuss today for not reading her favorite bedtime story. He gently caressed her hairs……Except for his nose all other features on her face was Bani's. She also had the same softness in her eyes as her mother. Pulling her pink blanket up he sat next to her and watched her sleep peacefully. She was definitely one of the most precious things he had in his life. Her sweet talks and mischievous acts always made his day joyful. Kissing her on the forehead he switched off the light and left.

Walia Mansion had become dead silent when Bani returned from Pushkar's house. Peeking into her daughter's room she saw her sleeping peacefully. Smiling she closed the door and went to her bedroom.

Her foot was aching from all the standing she did from morning. While removing her jewelry one by one she felt a pair of arm snake her waist. Looking into the mirror she saw Jai smiling at her. Contently she leaned back more into his body.

"Tired" he asked rubbing her arms.

"Little bit" she said.

"Jaiiiiiiii" she screamed as her lifted her and walked towards their bed. "Ssshhhh" you want to wake up everyone" he grinned. Gently putting her down the bed he lifted her legs and placed them on his lap.

"Wh….what are you doing….no….you shouldn't touch my feet" she protested.

"You and your thinking" he teased. Not listening to her he gently pressed her feet. Even though she didn't like the idea of her husband touching her feet she did really feel better. She loving caressed his cheeks….. "Feeling better now" he asked. Nodding her head she moved her legs away from his lap.

Changing into her night dress she snuggled closer to Jai.

"The house has become so empty now that Rano has also gone" Jai said wrapping his arms around her.

"hmmm"

"I hope mummy and papa are happy"

"Of course they are and also very proud of their son" she replied facing him.

"Thank you for coming into my life Bani" he said gently pecking her lips…… "OUCH" she suddenly cried holding her stomach.

"Bani……you ok" Jai asked immediately sitting up.

"Yes I am….it's the baby" she replied giggling. Taking his hand he led them to where the baby had kicked. Feeling his father's presence the baby kicked again making Jai's lips erupt into a smile. "I love U beta" he said kissing her growing tummy.

Pulling the comforter up he kissed Bani on the forehead and lied down holding her close to his heart forever.
