So after the bombshell from Gul & CVs stunned the forum into silence the fireworks & explosions are back. Posts after posts for & against Advay, for & against Chadni...
Got a Dejavu feeling. Made me nostalgic of the heydays of PRATHAM & the FORUM THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED.
Its the same debates all over again.
ASR is a douche. He is an arrogant SOB. FL is a doormat, an idiot, a shrinking violent, a spineless submissive. The show is regressive. The PH & writers are regressive. They are glorifying domestic abuse. This is an insult to women.
I think what the CVs are showing are wrong at multiple levels. The most important flaw in this entire plot is the whole revenge theme revolving around the perceived wrongdoing of an 8 yr old child 16 years ago. Even in Baazigar SRK does not blame Shipa or Kajol. Instead to him they are just pawns in his game of revenge against their father. This is still wrong but the ML is very clear that by hurting his daughters he is hurting the man who ruined his family. Here if Advay had merely used Chandni as a pawn in his revenge against Indrani & Yash the story would ve made better sense. Instead dumping the entire bulk of the blame on the tiny shoulders of a 8 yr old child is plain ridiculous.
Next is his plan for revenge. What we as audience were dying to see was how the intelligent, volatile Advay pits his brains against the cunning, wily Indrani. How does he bring them to the streets. How does he prove that his parents were innocent. How does he restore their good names. How he proves that its the Vashists who are looting the people's money. How he defames the Vashists & restores the pride of his family name. This is what we all signed up for. But what we got was an ML who is clueless on what he wants or does. Only mumbles poems on Chandni's dhokha. This was a man with no clue, no vision or mission.
The only chant was Chadni yeh Chandni woh. Finally when we get to see his so called revenge on Chandni all that we see is a man child who is still stuck in stone age. He calls her characterless & fallen scarlet woman. Really this is a London return business tycoon who obviously must have dated girls. Still this is his thought process.
Worst is Nani with her THIS IS YOUR HOUSE NOW. And all that emotional blackmail forcing her grandson to live with a woman whom he hates. Doesnt she know that now he will torture that girl inside the 4 walls of his room.
Less said about the baby fiasco the better. Apparently birthing & raising a child is similar to having a pet dog. You play with it for some time, realize u dont ve the time for it so simply dump it in a kennel. WOW just WOW. All the characters in this show simply amaze us. And these are the characters we are supposed to sympathize with.
Are you kidding me. Right now I am not sure if you can find 10 people in a 100 Km radius who ll ve even a teaspoon of empathy/sympathy for any of these characters.
Advay is so 1 dimensional. Chandni knows only to cry buckets. Nani knows only to lecture & do emotional blackmail. All look like caricatures.
How are the CVs expecting us to understand the pain & emotions of these characters if the audience are unable to connect with these characters & dont empathize with them.
Now they have started on a clean slate. We are willing to purge our memories of the past 2 mths. Unlike Advay we dont hold grudges for long periods.
So its time for the CVs to really work hard on the characters & make them more relateable & likeable to the audience. We want to cheer for Chandni while she stands up to Advay. We want to cry with Advay when he thinks of his lost family. We want to be hooked when we watch Indrani & her scheming. We want to love the side characters & not just the leads.
CVs your task is cut out & time is ticking. Neither the audience nor STAR has endless patience. So buck up & bring on ur best game.
