I don't know if you've heard of the Psy Changeling series. I'm not too into fantasy these days but this hero - Kaleb - was so dark, so incredibly dark but absolutely PERFECT. Sahara was his light.
I thought I'd have to read the previous books in the series to understand the fantasy world but tbh I was too engrossed in Kaleb and Sahara's love story. It was also a 'childhood sweethearts separated' theme (I have a huge thing for those, as I'm sure everyone on this forum knows by now lol).
I can't even do justice to their love story by explaining it or what they went through to get their happy ending. The question on the book cover is: 'What would you do if you were loved by most dangerous man in existence...?"
The book is Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh.
