Virginity is not question like before as today people have more then a relationship earlier it was huge thing when it comes to women. That would define whether she is worth it or no. The thinking level was low.

Yes, but to see well known stars voluntarily participating in such movies is really disturbing.

Once upon a time Bollywood was rife with such movies...
I remember watching the movie in question.. What really was even more off-putting was the heroine falling head over heela in love with the perpetrator..

IMO, Bollywood movies and even television soaps would have carried on with the crap of "sanctification through marriage" had Indian legislature not been amended post Nirbhaya's case that rape is a crime befitting nothing but death penalty.

P.S : Thanks for some really thought provoking threads of late.

Agreed. Juhi refusing to get married to the groom when he was ready to go through the whole wedding was too off putting. She was actually calling herself ruined etc. And, on top of that she. Falling for AK was just too much.

Bold- Thank you .

Anil and Juhi remind me of this songcreepy

Raja ki ayegi barat too had a similar plot. Wherein rani fights in court and the court orders her rapist to marry her within 24 hours😲
Compared to these movies I feel rishi and madhuris premgranth and anil-aishwaryas hamara dil apke pas hai were quite progressive.

Yes, premgranth and HDAPH were way better than the two craps you mentioned.
In both the movies the male lead gives them the confidence and hope to fight for their right.
Whereas here the male lead is the rapists and they justify his acts by giving him a sad backdrop.
