That was a good question. according to the dialogues between the devotees at the Gurudwara about Mahi, at her return episode, she was serving in the temple. No one knew about her whereabouts but she helps in the temple and stays in sorrow all the time.

Soni and mahi treated themselves as orphanes and submitted to the circumstances as they were stamped as 'terrorist's daughters." mahi was too obedient and grateful to Shabd as he supported in deed...a lil consolable situation for mahi.

As u said I also blame the brought up as they were not enough educated to stand themselves alone in the society.

So true...yet we can wrap the triangle of Soni/Jeet/Cherry for now and the creators can come up with something else to deal on Soni (poor woman)..but this time she might have help ie: Cherry to deal the future problems ie: Durga and Joyti...I say create havoc for Durga but getting Cherry back with Soni and have Cherry "deal" the blows to Durga, slowly, until all the family knows what Durga really is...hense lengthening the show with that "khurana household" saga.. Creators have created a team against Soni....Now we need one against Durga 😡 to spice this up a bit

This could happen only when jeet realises the problem and accepts cherry atleast for soni's welfare sake. he should know before that in what circumstances soni married veer.

Then cherry gets soft corner on soni and both bahus can teach Durga for putting soni in this whole mess.
