Hammie's' Impressions ~ep33~16.8.17~ Woman! by nature a mother?
Historically society and I daresay nature too, piles on one glaring expectation upon woman kind. That they are born inherently with natural maternal instincts. Every girl child contains within her the characteristics of motherhood. The skills to create, nurture, care, fend, and tend for a young one of their kind. This thought is deemed to be somewhat true of those females too, who may not have actually been involved in the process of giving birth. But the expectation remains that they will rear a young one with natural inborn dexterity .Of course with changing mindsets of single parenting and gender equality, this concept is fast changing that a woman, by nature is a born mother. Present day shows ,if the need arises, fathers too can do an admirable task of rearing and caring for their children. Yet to me, the key factors apart from giving birth, a mother has to prove she is reliable, responsible and accountable towards the child in her charge. Following on from yesterday, in today's episode too, Indranis mother hood is open to debate. In my humble opinion, the antagonist's debatable mothering is giving much respite by the CV's , reiterating that Indrani is a step mother. This provides a protective shell over her, and somewhat justifies her treatment to Chandni. Had the CV's shown Indrani as Chandni's real mother , the audience would find it to hard to swallow. So I tend to point out that in the real world too, there are real mothers, who do fall short in their maternal duties, and fail their families. However, most scriptures across the global communities do preach that a mother has to be the most revered and blessed state a woman can be in...
To mother, or to be seen to mother a child does not go unnoticed. As to be equated a mother, puts a woman in a category.. the finale.. shows Chandni with a baby. Advay spots her, in the dead of the night.. and we get a peep into another track geared to create, possibly further divisions between Chandni and Advay.
Part of a blokes responsibility when taking a girl out on a date is to bring her home safely. PP fails, in fact he shirks off all responsibility just because he didn't get his filthy way with Chandni. Chandni is brought home safely by her knight in shining armour.. anyone with eyes can see that Ajeeb Singh Raizada is husband material. He can, retrieve, and protect a damsel in distress. Advay ensures to it, she gets medical attention. Here it's not out of place that, what the doctor has to say.. for it will have a bearing on Advay's grievances he holds against her. Chandni s diagnosis, is a bit more than a panic attack, Advay suspects. It's post traumatic stress disorder.. this invokes Advay's compassion, so she lied not, the poor girl reaction to crowds is due to an under lined mental duress .. mild though, but in this case, was triggered off by crowds she came across, yet nevertheless, the information does melt Advay's heart. The doctor mentions a kidnapping.. and I would imagine Advay would take his medical opinion seriously..
PP lets off steam before Indrani! he compares himself to a wanton boy running after Chandni the colourful, elusive butterfly who gives him the slip. I would compare him more to the amorous bumble bee who flits from flower to flower in search of nectar! Indrani smoothes his ruffled feathers. But inside she fumes at Chandni! For denying PP what he was after.Indrani in her privacy is bold about her obsession for money! If she has the choice she would want money and abandon Chandni to the winds! This implies that the wicked step mother once more will veer her obedient daughter to fulfil PP s un holy demands. Seems even Indrani shows integrity in dirty deeds.. she's got the monies. Now if she fears anything, its losing her cash flow!
Coming out of the chasm that pulled her into a moment of oblivion. Chandni's sister give her a recap , PP ditched her as his date. But Advay rescued her and brought her home. Chandni now wonders how on earth did Advay work out where she was? yes she called him, but couldn't tell him her location! Then how did he find her? this remains a mystery.. knowing him he might have traced the number, found out the night spots in the area? or did his heart navigate for him. This is no strange occurrence as Advay initially did sense her call of Dev!.. it was a trace back of how things were between them.. years ago the oath he gave her ,if ever she is in danger call his name.. and he'll be there.. was this the carry forward of their childhood memoirs?
On his own, Advay weeps not only for her predicament, but for himself too. He maligns himself for being blinded by hate, to the extent of hurling aside his bond of friendship with her. With a contrite heart, his eyes weep at his insensitivity of being unable to read the unspoken sorrow in her eyes. How before, he could perceive what she meant to say.. still, out of this melt down, he reasons that the blight of seeking her out after sixteen long years.. can well be turned into a boon for him. If he maintains his wits about himself, out of the pack of lies hounding him about her, now maybe, he should consider seeking the truth about Chandni.. his Chandni.. seek for himself, is she pure? without a blemish? Or is she stained by lies? Advay's monologue with himself indicates, Chandni's condition ,her trauma effects him.. he reconsiders his strategy with her.. perhaps give her the benefit of the doubt like Nani suggests.. Nani though, can see her Chiku is pensive and mellowed, concerned about Chandni's well being.. Nani's words have rubbed off on him..
Yet sometimes, good turns, can be totally misinterpreted too, since one's reputation follows on. Shika is shrewd in her thinking.. she questions Advay turning up at the spot, out of the blue. Speculates, his intentions might have been to disrupt Chandni PP date! Meghna corrects her sister if he meant harm to Chandni he wouldn't have brought her home! Meghna is clearly more balanced and calmer than fiery baby sister Shika..
Indrani is into much of a huff about Chandni's behaviour. She literally lives in her own world possibly plotting how else she'll use Chandni, her compliant daughter into making more easy bucks! It's Neeru who pulls her up on lack of maternal instincts of caring for her indisposed Chandni. Indrani yet again resists his guidance and reminds him, she married Chandni's dad.. and beyond that she feels nothing else for her step daughter. The more Neeru tries to tap humanity into her.. the more hard core realistic Indrani becomes. Neeru, argues she has not a heart , but a stone in its place. Indrani flaunts her stony attitude , its true though, the manner in which she plots against Chandni she has to be devoid of all so called maternal qualities.. for its clear the woman actually feels nothing for the girl.. Neeru accuses her of getting Chandni kidnapped!!! So clear she is in her want of money, that no burden of transgressions weighs her down.. for her god is only Mammon ,the god of money! poor Neeru might as well be casting his pearls before swine ! she sees and hears nothing! .. but Neeru will be there as the spokes person for virtue residing side by side with vice.. to keep the story balanced ..
Nani as Advay's fairy godmother is beside him, to provoke goodness out of a near miss, troubled mind.. he confesses before her , he reviews his opinion about Chandni. Where he had apathy towards her, he now is beginning to empathize with her.. but to accept her as innocent .. he might need to find out more about her.. Nani, suggests he reads her eyes.. they speak for one's soul.. Advay , silently heeds to ever word his maternal grandmother shares with him.. his troubled spirit invariably settles, after talking to Nani . Nani comes as the unification link between Dev and Chandni ..
Indrani the intrepid iron mother, only gives the false impression that she is invincible . In the scene with Neeru, to me she appears fearful! It's the fear evil gets, in the face of goodness. She confesses she got Chandni kidnapped! But the girl returned. To me Chandni's purity and innocence will always niggle Indrani into thinking somewhere deep down about her dark unscrupulous ways. As it is, Indrani is forever restless! hankering for wealth ,power and worldly gains. Her mind and body are never at rest. In short she is a troubled soul, despite her composed front. Every time Chandni shows her loyalty and obedience.. Indrani s soul is damned!
Chandni comes to her evil mother, offers her healing with her healing hands. Mother and daughter hug.. to the vulnerable daughter its genuine ,love ,honour and respect.. an uplifting feeling. For the falsified mother , the hug signifies, hate, rejection , insult! Forever Indrani has to lie to Chandni.. couldn't attend to her phone call, as she was drugged and asleep.. more damnation heaped on her head. While Chandni gets what she aspires for, her mother's blessings. But most of all despite the fact that she is unaware of the web of deceit around her! Chandni manages to come out of each trap her step mother sets up for her.. the deities protect her. Her fear remains within her.. but this aliment will pull Advay and Chandni together...
The finale scene between Chandni , baby ,Advay and the woman from the orphanage is to create tension in Advay's already softening heart towards Chandni. The scene poses questions whose baby is it? Assumptions are drawn by Advay , appears to be Chandni's baby? the scene shows Chandni in the possible role of a mother to a baby whom she has not given birth to.. just like Indrani .. in the brief scene Chandni display's , some qualities of mother hood, questioning, about the baby's diet that may have made it poorly? Chandni knows baby's allergy, clue. She knows the mother!! Her first reaction was to clasp the infant to her bosom..which led Advay to question her relationship to the infant. The scene is mysterious for effect, long dark corridors,Chandni sneaking in with the baby and Advay following her..in the dark. Chandni hiding in a room! Suspense door handle turning! We think its Advay! Turns out to be mama ji!.. Advay will not rest in peace now! he is on to seeking Chandni's innocence! Without further ado, he sends Murli on to a fact finding mission to the orphanage ..mission is to identity the mysterious infant! all effects and imagery are used to create hype and intrigue... Another episode , pitching up the good against the evil. Little more of Indrani's motherhood merits and failings.. Advay, Chandni , Nani , Neeru and Indrani yet again occupy much screen space .. precap..Advay confronts Chandni, wants to know more about him.. once again he concludes, Chandni , has cheated and lied to him! a bowl of noodles for her dear mother, reveals her mother's true colours to Chandni! So looks like more heart ache for our lovers..
