In this day and age, the real world, it's said that one comes across all sorts of people. Some good, some bad and some neither good nor bad. This simple categorization of people too is not cut and dry, as many factors have an impact on which side of their character people show. The cynical prefer not to accept others on face value. The gullible or easily led, can swiftly be swept by people or even things upon how things or people appear. To me there lies a tragic tone in such elements when it appears that is invariably the good people, who are at a loss at the hands of the wicked. Or how the bad people , either are seen to get away with their ways, or worse still they seem to thrive. Fiction, can also carry a moral tone, which is used to instruct , guide and inspire and morally uplift readers. Such stories thus are based on the theme of the war between virtue and vice. Today's episode to me, draws upon the issues of morality, ethics, virtue decency, as opposed to immorality, and all in all wickedness. Within the high priest Yash vashist's family on the face of it , godliness, honesty and adherence to faith is carried out..but then appearances are deceptive...

Can of worms is opened by the revelation of the Shakun Ranjit dirty affair. For the morally weak.. its lust that takes over and the voices or murmurings of familial bonds is stifled under two peoples lust. Moral incapability is so strong that relationships are brushed under the carpet. Regretfully , Kajal who is wronged, is one rather simple, woman. Her folly ,perhaps is, as she tragically admits to Shakun is, that she blindly trusted her sister.The exposure of the affair ,too has its strategic motives with two characters .With Advay, it is yet another action to dissuade Chandni from marrying the useless PP. I suspect , he has a rough idea that this affair business, is going to complicate matters. He is right ,as yet again PP's mother hypocritically , threatens and breaks the alliance.. on the basis of a common conclusion. One black sheep of the family has a bearing on the reputation of the rest of the fold! When the wicked step mother , but more so the matriarchal figure head of the house hold, takes an executive decision.. a tight slap and a kick out of from the Vashist household for Shakun! Worse still Ranjit too makes his choice, goes with Shakun. So it appears that the exposure of their immoral acts incurs no loss on them. In fact they appear to flourish! The woman who is scorned.. is Kajal.. she loses her good riddance to bad rubbish husband Ranjit. Hopefully the two will suffer the abuses of society. Whereas Kajal gains the sympathy of her family, and security of a home still...this too me, is a consoling factor!

Indrani, is livid with Shakun for one prime reason! Due to her dirty affair Chandni's alliance has been broken! She had pinned hopes on it, her future depended on it. But knowing Indrani ,which Advay knows ,but her loyal daughter Chandni is unaware of, is the height of her step mother's obsession. Indranis moral impotency is yet to appear. Question is will Chandni be able to see it? Because to spot Indrani's deceit ,Chandni needs special spectacles.. which Advay is likely to provide for her in the long run. Till then, Chandni with all her piety and goodness will grope in the dark.. her goodness blinds her.. Chandni could have done with support from Advay.. but then she still has to grasp that his cruel words are actually used to be kind to her. To pull her into shape so she can see! not for the sake of seeing ,but more so for the sake of perceiving things skin deep. He points out , her family is similar to what she is, totally different in appearance from reality. Like her family she too feigns and pretends! He reminds her, he told her he would snap this alliance , and he did exactly that! Tersely he even congratulates her for the end of her alliance.

In times when our sense of morality suffers a blow we make use of those who offer us moral respite. It is interesting to note that Advay's Nani is unsighted, yet she can see through things clearly. It takes a blind Nani to enable a fury fuelled Advay to see the folly of his ways. She is displeased about the manner he broke Chandni's alliance. She makes him open his eyes to the fact, that he insensitively overlooks, despite being sighted.. that Chandni has two more sisters.. with her alliance broken.. people might be reluctant to ask for her sisters hand too. Nani points out a weakness in humans, that if they are not mindful.. they can be gripped by such syndromes that render them sightless to things that are actuallyimportant to them ,like family ,relationships.. but then with Advay.. his healer is Chandni.. and due to his festering wounds, he can only see her as the foe! not a friend..

Like Advay, Chandni too needs to release tension. It's interesting to note that she chooses an adult Mamaji to discuss her mother and Dev.. rather than her sisters. Perhaps she feels, her younger sisters are not in position age wise, to offer the support Mamaji can. He has in the recent past fought her case before Indrani to give Chandni a second chance..it's lovely the way Mamaji consoles her.. let PP go , he was not meant for her.. someone else is?.. he is being prophetic here. Interesting again.. a sobbing Chandni.. with regards to marriage.. always thinks about Dev! Such irony.. as Mamaji inspite of being aloof from others, is able perhaps to see Advay's keenness in Chandni! Talking to Mamaji is always a balm for Chandni.. for she too suffers age old wounds.. regrets, that she couldn't make it to their secret hideout.. people didn't let her.. she sobs bitterly, how desperate she was.. Advay holds on to his version.. she brought people to their hide out! he had to part from Mikku! Upon, liar Chandni's words his mother was burnt to death!.. when people with vision cannot see beyond a major misunderstanding! Advay is bursting to the seams with vengeance against Chandni.. ready to reduce her reputation! Beauty! The lot to hell.. somewhere in the dark a little moon beam.. whispers...love.. but what name can be attributed to the all consuming fire? Rabba ve?.. and Chandni weeps.. wishes he had not left her.. this feeling of insecurity when in duress! stays with her.. and that s when she wants, needs, Dev the most! She pours her eyes and her heart before Mamaji .. being the elder.. as Nani counsels to Advay .. so does mamaji , he consoles her she needn't dwell on the past, but best she moves on.. but it seems like a dead end..as her alliance has ended.. and her mother is upset.. Chandni either misses Dev ,her past companion, or she is anxious about keeping her mother happy! But one thing is clear from this scene.. the iceberg of misunderstanding and irony renders each one quite alone.. whenever they interact the ice berg thaws a wee bit.. mean while they share some emotional attachment.. be it hate! For the moment!

So comes in the element of intrigue, in the episode two evil characters Indrani and PP's mother conspire together against, the gullible, obedient daughter Chandni . Indrani s true self and stratagem is revealed to us. Both are vicious in their needs! Indrani is the seller of a priceless product, her beautiful, obedient daughter, who puts up no opposition! So blinded she is her mothers love! PP's mother is the desperate buyer! But Indrani is the one who pulls the shots! She overpowers PP's mother once and for all by hissing like a viper in her face.. that she knows her kind! She's doing her a favour, by selling her daughter to her son who is already married and sterile! Both woman fight over who has more , wealth and clout! Each is as bad as the other! dramatic irony! The product Chandni is the last to know that she is not her wicked step mother's loyal daughter, but a cheap commodity! Integral part of a deal! A saleable item to bear a heir for PP's family.. a second wife for a man, who just may be physical barren.. like the two women who are morally powerless and weak before their greed. In the name of Chandni! cash is exchanged! Do as they can with her says Indrani who truly becomes the proverbial wicked step mother.. Chandni's dark knight watches the heinous cash transaction.. alas! The righteous suffer and the wicked rejoice..

Chandni offering consolation and comfort to a traumatized Kajal is one such scene within the episode, that gives us renewed hope that despite being surrounded by evil, even a little bit of goodness can go a long way. Chandni speaks wise words.. that some times too much love can weaken a person.. she means there are chances, that we take it for granted and thus lay ourselves open to be betrayed.. this is true in Chandni's case too.. blind love and loyalty for Indrani .. will bite her badly!

Not a relationship but a deal.. the alliance is back on! as expected..so are PP's dirty deeds.. he gifts Chandni expensive earrings, tells her they're back on tries to make a pass at her again. Chandni shirks away from him.. and put off he leaves. Advay turns up ,bitter .. but then he had seen the cash being exchanged .. greedy for wealth.. all of them! he calls her a gold digger! Chandni muses, sadly if only he knew.. the truth! she's only doing this to make her mother happy.. Advay muses.. if only she knew what I know.. but then Advay will strike when the need arises ,not before! But this time he is not blind to what Chandni is being pushed into by her wicked stepmother.. rabba ve.. all in due course.

Shika and Veer..started off on a bad footing.. but as little as they know about each other, they know enough to make them want to know more about each other. Both can see and sense, they like each other's company. The reason why they gel together is because none carries emotional baggage, like Advay and Chandni who are heavy laden with dark memories, scarring of years gone by..

PP.. wants time alone with Chandni. Since the monies have been paid for chandy! He tries to bend Indrani's elbow by moaning to her that he wants to test drive.. his expensive car called Chandy.. Indrani gives in easily..now that she has received the upfront payment for Chandni .. she even lets him know of her daughters phobia of crowds.. once she is destabilized ,he can do exactly as he pleases with her..coldly Indrani as it were, washes her hands off the virtous girl Chandni! The step mother chuckles at her luck! Her girl's virtue brings back wealth into the household.. my dear daughter, blinded by my love.. she'll do anything I command.. hamlet53 15.8.17

So friends.. this was one episode with substance in it. It hurts to see that the meek, simple ,suffer the most. We also see that lust, avarice,has no morals, no limitations, they fail to see relationship, family .what matters to them is their moral incapability and weakness. Shivani ruled the episode today along with Ritu shivpuri.. tomorrow .. more shockers for Chandni. Her mother insists she go out with her would be husband.. trust her says Indrani, the weapon she uses against Chandni for her to perform..

Its weird the one who run for society respect and act morally infront of others are empty inside .indrani n pp mom are biggest example of it .

Poor chandni really feel bad for her literally have no one .and what will happen when she will know her strength dev is one who hate her so much .she will break .
