for colours and costumes, i do agree that its really gaudy and too much, but i think for me that is the least of a worry, its something i can definitely look pass if im really invested in the story and the characters.
the story: i think they had a good story idea but at the moment arent following through with it properly, the execution is lacking so it feels a bit all over the place and wishy washy, there isnt a strong through line. which would affect the audiences level of investment and engagement. there needs to be strong direction and vision
siblings: i also like the sibling but would like veer to interact with advay and i like the sisters but would also wish they get more development outside of just their relationship with chandni.
makeup, i dont really have an issue with, they look pretty either way.
rehashing: it is their show and they can repeat the scenes if they want but i personally dont like or want that, because i would like something unique and refreshing specifically for adni cause they at least deserve that instead of being given significant/meaningful scenes that were already done before. if this is a unique story and different couple they should have plenty of interesting things they can play around with to create special scenes just for them. though some repetitiveness is unavoidable, but it should be kept at a minimum
music: like i said, if they want to use it they can but, i dont think the rabba ve really suits them or their story and i would really like them to once again have their own special memorable theme song, that reflects their love and journey. also if they are insistent on using it, keep it to minimum, dont over use it, it could become really annoying.
heroine: shivani tomar is indeed beautiful, but i dont think she is a poor actress but neither is she on that amazing level either but that's to be expected with a fresher face in the industry. i do think she is doing a fine job but of course there is always room for improvement however it is also dependent on the script and direction. it is at least good that she has a more stronger actor beside her to help her along the way.
hero: barun is doing a good job, that's to be expected, although i did like him a bit more in the first week, i feel like his anti hero is dulled down a little or at least that's the vibe im getting, maybe it more a personal feeling.
chemistry: i like the chemistry, they do have it in the romantic scene by virtue of them having natural chemistry with each other. i do like quite a few people think the rabba ve detracts from those scenes due to the repetitiveness of it being played over again and sometimes in different styles. while i do see chemistry that alone isnt enough for me, its more like a short lived type, like eating candy vs a filling meal, with the former being what im talking about, i would like those "romantic" moments to happen more organically with strong build up because it does feel like they are throwing out as many of them as they can to create that intense passionate element which i personally dont believe can be done by that alone and i've said before i like the context because its more satisfying then to witness these moments.
for me personally i dont like one coupling better then the other per say, i do have to say that i did have more of a connection to arshi then i am having with adni probably because of the better development and presentation of the love story and romance, i think a lot of it had to do with a slow burn and moments, feelings being given time to happen. not to say adni are in love but i'v mentioned that it takes the fun out of it when the scenes you usually wait for are being given so fast so when you actually get it it feels like well...bit dulled,it's a personal bias for me when it comes to love stories/romance.
as for chandni and kushi, i would say i dont connect to either however i think im a bit dissapointed with chandni since i had expectations out of her given the way they described her, it just feels like she is falling into the familiar trappings of the typical FL. so i wouldnt really say one is better the other. also i dont connect to chandni period because of the inconsistencies in her character and lack on insight from her pov. so in the end neither are path breaking or relatable to me even though chandni can be and im giving it more time
i agree that ipk1 wasnt revolutionary or perfect but they did have one thing going for it and it was the love story, so i hope ipk3 can do the same cause the cast deserve it and shivani especially.
im deff gonna continue watching to see how it shapes up in the next couple of months, just to see if they do better.
