OMG - what an episode. I am totally floored by today's episode. It had everything - Humor, tashan wala pyaar and we got a beautiful scene of little Chandu and her Dev.

Little Chandu was feisty - that is what Dev remembers of her. So Advay can't relate to this always in control Chandni who sprouts dialogues such as "Sach Sach hi hota hain". So he riles her up and takes her room for himself. And on top of it completely confuses her with his talk. Bechari Chandni is played like a rag doll in this game.

Did anyone notice she totally forgot about her own fears after the storm named Advay Singh Raizada came into her life. So today was a really good touch when Chandni talks about her past with her sisters. She has the past in her mind but for the time being she has pushed it all off and she wants to move on in life with her family and sisters. Good job creatives. They have given a logical touch as to why Chandni is suddenly going all out on her own. Of course when your life is in a mess you get strength apne aap.

And the dialogue writer is seriously awesome. I absolutely loved the bickering of Shilpa - Murli like Shilpa says - Ek thappad dungi and Murli says - Kaha ghootno pe. The dialogues were so on the mark.

The best part was Barun hands down - Dev is hidden inside Advay and Barun was awesome when he remembers his childhood friend and their nok jhok with so much tenderness. For a moment Dev comes forth and shows his concern for Chandni. But then Advay gets himself in control and damn the mask is on. I really don't think Advay hates Chandni - It is more of like Dev can't forget that his best friend turned his life upside down and he wants Chandni to himself because if not in happiness, he wants her to share his life in misery. Had things been all good between them and they grew up together they would have been married off by now. Advay believes Chandni is his - He is possessive of her. Now need to see what he is going to do when the suitor comes i
Chandni definitely needs to start connecting the dots or else her life is going to be a complete mess and Advay is going to play her left and right and she won't even know what hit her. Wake up girl - You are up against a top class manipulator.

You are into something there PS about Advays feelings!!

About Chandani's past...yes that scene was really good...explained her coping mechanism...

Barun is just killing it every moment! 🤪 The character has simply seeped into him. The man talks and walks Advaiy/ Dev.

My thoughts drift away from Austen, actually.

Dev. Such an iconic, melancholic hero from Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay. I find this Dev as broody as the original. Circumstances are different, but the very name Dev - there is something there, I feel. It quietly pesters me- an affliction I am getting used to.

The episode as such- everything seemed to fit in. Advaiy Singh Raizada appears to be such a crazy, eccentric Math Prof. Will Chandni leave it at that, as she tries to ignore his rude behaviour, or will she delve deeper?

To what extent can Advaiy go to get her to agree to his proposal, if he is actually serious about it. (He does seem very much so, to me.) Would he go to the extent of planning a seemingly harmless kidnap drama that could coerce Indrani into marrying off the daughter for the family's honour- to a not so poor and willing tenant. (With what disastrous consequences to poor Chandni's morale!)- am probably overthinking here.

The proposal and the cat and mouse game Advaiy wants to play was done quite well. Chandni might want to keep it a transparent relationship, but Advaiy loves playing this game of confusing her.

The Rubik's cube- yet another reminder of my favourite show. ❤️

The sisters and the brother are okay. It is difficult to imagine this Miku character as Dev's brother. Poles apart! All the siblings remind me of QH some way or the other.

I am loving Chandni's wardrobe and accessories. ❤️
Please don't insult Advaiy's red pants anymore, Sush.😭 Reminds me of my staple home wear during college days- T-shirt over salwar.😳 The designer just made it formal by keeping a vest.😆

Hi Chick,
Lovely to see you! I don't think Dev has to do much to convince the family to give him Chandani's hand...he has a big upper hand financially...and Indrani will not do anything to lose that...Perhaps she is finding suitors only to push him in this direction herself???

Yes...Rubiks cube was in your fav show too...I remember!!
The back story is similar...but easier to buy for me here due to how young Chnadani was at the time compared to Sumans age...when I did expect better from her...but ahyways...that's in the past...

I too am loving Chandani's wardrobe...I just can't tolerate the designer butchering brand ASR!

You wore Tshirts and salwar to college?? 😆

T- shirts and salwar- night wear.😆

Indrani- Even I feel she wants to push Chandni towards Advaiy- the suitor sounds like a clown.

Your talent never ceases to amaze me. After those lovely collages, you have this wonderful VM and the quotes too. Fantastic dear. Keep them coming !! 👏
And a special thanks for posting the Rubik cube pic. The intensity in the man's eyes is bewitching. ❤️

Thanks E glad you enjoyed the VM 🤗

@bold ...The fundamental piece in imagining a character is ...what do they wear ?It may seem trite, but clothing is what reveals our personalities to the rest of the world. Think of all the people you see, without speaking to, every day. All they know is your appearance...and they are judging you ...Gul failed miserably .Barun , had to fall in love with this character in order to properly pound his heart into mush...he is living / breathing Advay 👏

The appearance and the packaging of the product you are selling is of utmost importance...How can a director not appreciate that? Beats me...Also, there is no democracy in making the decision on what becomes a part of the final product...it either complies with the vision or it doesn't...

The Scottish plaid last week was a disaster...I think that was on Monday...and it took me 3-4 days to recover from the eye sore it created...

Anywho...BS is indeed living and breathing the character...I think Shivani and others are doing well too...I am enjoying the show...despite some eyesores that throw me completely off for a few days...I wish we could just do without them....they really spoil the fun...

The dialogue between Elinor and Marianne is most interesting...
It was like Austen was making her point through the debate between the two characters on what place money has in life...Austen herself was offered a marriage of comfort and convenience once...she accepted it ...but then decided not to go through it and backed out...

We don't know Chandani's views about marriage or money yet...Like Elinor...she does have a keen sense of responsibility ...which is already seen...

Sush

I am glad you got reminded of Austen and her brilliant writing. I think I can never get enough of Austen, not in this lifetime at least.

@bold Yes, I have read Letters from Ms Austen and the few memories I have from that are solely about the peek she has given to her readers into her personal life. I did vaguely recollect reading about a marriage proposal, I think, but thank you for refreshing my memory. And one of my most favourite ones were the letters she wrote to her sister, Cassandra. The depth of the emotions and the poignance in her writing was heart wrenching, especially the one she wrote on her death bed and wishes for Cassandra to have a few good people around her during her last days. It just pulls at your heartstrings.

In S&S, Elinor had facilitated the engagement of Edward with Lucy and it was only later when she was told that they share a connection and not an engagement did she decided to go back to Edward, in the end. But looks like here Advay will marry Chandni, like I said this is where the show and the story differ. The makers could have used the sister to bring in the class of S&S, but they got a funny man whose a point of comic relief in the current phase. (much like 3 idiots)

"When Miss Steele accidentally lets slip the secret of her sister's engagement to Edward Ferrars, their relationship becomes no longer an "attachment" but a "connection." An attachment is an emotional association between two people; to form an attachment is to fall in love. In contrast, a connection is the public bond involving a range of associations between individuals and their families."
Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility

I just caught up the episode and Chandni refuses marriage to Advay but on Indrani's behest indirectly, who seems uncomfortable with the new match and it looks like the marriage is definitely on the card. I wish the makers keep this crisp because at this point, I dont know how I feel about the track. And I also hope they get Chandni to write a letter to Advay much like how Elinor did with Edward before confronting him.

Anyway, lets see how the show unfolds. I have a few questions but for now I will zip it up. 😆

And btw Sobti has a new look and he looks decent though the beard had grown on me, but this aint bad at all. AND a round of applause to the dialogue writer. What wit and charm. 👍🏼

@Sush/ Shweta
Totally agree with the two of you on the presentation bit. After all the first impression is always the last one, for few if not for all. I am not at all sold on the dressing but I am just closing an eye and watching the show. 😕 Chandni has defo got better and today Advay looked a lot more suave though the rugged charm is something I will miss.

Oh Shweta, you bet Sobti has me hooked to the show from the word go. He is phenomenal and today his comic timing was fabulous, reminded me of why I like him so much. 😳
