Chapter 24 - Arnav settles score!
It was a long night for Arnav... His words that were said in anger have made deep impact on Khushi's heart...
"But was she so angry and jealous just like I was...? Her behavior totally screamed jealousy and revenge like a typical teenager... And what did she say? All her logics go for a toss when it comes to me! She feels crazy insecure and possessive at the same time..." Arnav smiled... She likes him too... Or maybe even loves him but hasn't realized it yet just like him...
Next morning, Arnav got ready first and asked HP to get lemon water for Khushi and kept it ready...
Khushi woke up to a bad headache! She quickly freshened up but could not even go down and sat on the bed holding her head!
"Hey Devi Mayya, why my head is hurting so bad like someone is hitting me hard?" Khushi blabbered to herself holding her head in her hands...
"It's called hang over, my dear wife... Here, this will help" Arnav smirked and handed her the warm lemon water...
She had it one go and felt a little relief... She suddenly realized her dress was changed too...
"What happened last night?" She asked him seriously...
"Nothing, you went wild after tequila shots. So I carried you home and you slept off..." Arnav informed her...
She was thinking trying to remember things happened last night! Automatically her hand went to her lips!
And yes, one more thing happened last night!
He stared at her walking next to her and sat on the bed! She tried to get up but he stopped her and bent down...
She realized he was too close for her comfort... She quickly closed her eyes... Arnav saw her reaction and did exactly what she was expecting...
He slowly kissed her... First she showed a little resistance but gave in slowly... He started to explore her mouth thoroughly and automatically her hands went in his hair and she started responding with equal fervor! It was another mind blowing passionate kiss!
"I do not want my wife to forget what happened last night... It was our first kiss! Hope you got back the memory or you need more!" Arnav smirked.
"And by the way I changed your clothes and made you wear the night dress!" He winked at her...
She just blushed so hard, hopped out of the bed and ran to the bathroom... He laughed and went down for breakfast giving her space to digest new progress in their relationship...
"Khushi, are you ready to go to work?" Arnav asked seeing Khushi coming down slowly...
"No, I am planning to skip today or maybe go later today... Still have the bad head ache... Let me eat and decide" She sat on the chair with a pale face and started serving herself breakfast...
"Khushi Bitiya, hope you feel better. Take care... Arnav told me you were not feeling well this morning..." Nani left the dining table since she wanted to go to temple...
"Who asked you to drink?" Arnav smirked at her...
"Excuse me? And why are you asking me questions? We are still not done and I am not talking to you..." Khushi talked to him in no nonsense tone...
"Oh, I thought we were good after yesterday night and morning kiss..." He purposely teased her and smirked...
"I don't know what are you talking about? HP, please get me the ginger tea..." Khushi held her head in her hands but still couldn't hide her blush...
"Oh so you kiss any stranger and forget? I never knew this quality of yours..." He teased her again...
Khushi glared at him angrily... Arnav waited and let her have her breakfast... After the ginger tea and nice South Indian breakfast Khushi felt alive and her head ache gone...
"Nikhil, I will come by 10 am. See you soon" She called and informed her senior at Oberoi...
"Ok, let's go Khushi, I have a meeting and I am getting late..." Arnav was getting restless looking at the watch since he has an important meeting at 11 am.
"Arnav please go ahead. I am not coming with you..." She replied to him...
"Khushi, enough... I have an important meeting at 11 am. So please hurry up..." He has to drop her and then go further and Delhi traffic can never be trusted...
"I am not going with you..." Khushi was stubborn...
Arnav just pulled her so hard that she crashed on his chest... He realized he might have been little too harsh and he immediately calmed down...
"Khushi, look at me... I don't like it when you beave so adamant... I thought I explained you it was a mistake and my drink was spiked... I am not lying... We are not going to talk about it again and again. Don't act like a stubborn teen... Arnav again explained her carefully.
"And I hate it when you do whatever you want, come explaining, kiss me and expect everything back to normal... It doesn't matter to you if I agree or not..." She replied with equal fervor...
"Ok, no problem... As you say, we are not done yet... We will talk about it in the evening... Can we go now please?" Arnav was surprised at his own patience with her...
Khushi just nodded and sat in the car... The journey was a quiet one...
"Thank you and bye" She ran out before he could kiss her good bye...
Arnav banged hard on accelerator and she could hear tires screeching... She knew she made him mad but couldn't help herself either...
Arnav came back home with Aman, La and NK... Anyway it was Saturday and Nani was staying overnight for early morning Pooja at Sivaji temple...
Khushi was surprised with the whole gang walking but felt happy... Khushi quickly made some snacks with coffee and guided HP to prepare dinner...
They all sat around the sofa happily chit chatting...
"Hey NK, by the way Sonia called this morning and was asking for you... She was asking when you are coming back to UK? Looks like she is missing you so bad..." Arnav dropped the bomb slowly...
La choked on her coffee... Glared at NK and pushed him away...
"Come on bro, it's impossible that any Sonia would have called... Because I don't know any Sonia" NK spoke loudly...
"Who is Sonia by the way? Why is she missing you NK?" La stood up and asked him pointing... She was done with his running away nature...
"You know what NK, I am so done with all this nonsense. Last time also after finishing project, you just walked away... Do you have any idea what I went through...? It was depressing for me to not even hear from you..." La was mad was an understatement... She was immensely hurt...
"La, stop it... I don't even know any Sonia. And why would I hide it from you? It was not like we were dating back then... But I still had feelings for you which I could not express... But I am very serious this time..." NK assured La...
"Bro, you are messing it up for me... Sonia called, like seriously?" NK asked Arnav again...
"Maybe you were drinking specialty shots like I did yesterday... So you don't remember" Arnav winked at NK...
"Bro, don't blame me... La and Aman are your culprits... Ask them. And who the hell asked you to jump in and drink my shot?" NK barked angrily and spilled the beans...
"What is going on here? Khushi was more confused now...
"Ok, actually we mixed double shots and added concentrated drops to the drink... Aman and I were just fooling around with NK... The shot was spiked and meant for him... You just happened to grab and drink it..." La confessed sheepishly...
"Sorry boss, it wasn't meant for you... But your bad luck..." Aman also added...
"So you two spiked the shot and never bothered to tell me about it? Or wait until I figure out you guys were goofing around? And NK, you knew it too but didn't bother to tell me?" Arnav shot back at all three of them...
Khushi realized now why he has invited them at home... He felt the need to prove his innocence... She suddenly felt guilty that she didn't trust him...
"Sorry ASR... We really tried to be with you throughout the party after you drank the shot and one of us was always with you... But during dinner arrangements and dance, we were like 5 minutes away from you. But the media always hovers you and of course neither media nor any girl want to miss their chance with you... We are really sorry... We never meant to trouble you like that... The drink was not even meant for you!" La was genuinely sorry.
"Yeah Boss, we were just fooling around... Planned to trouble NK. But still sorry... We never meant another Page 3 head ache for you..." Aman also apologized...
"I didn't know how to confront you with the fact. And Khushi was also mad at you... I tried to talk to her too. Sorry Nannav..." NK also apologized...
"Next time make sure this doesn't happen again Arnav warned in ASR tone...
They all had dinner together and La was still mad at NK about Sonia.
"Good night La, by the way Sonia is my Di's 6 months old daughter... Don't worry, she will call us both soon when she is ready to talk..." Arnav again winked at NK...
"Nannav you, I will not spare you... La, wait and let's talk..." NK roared and La could not help but burst out laughing...
