Dear TM, I agree with your post & even wish such offensive content is avoided by creatives of all shows but sadly it will not happen. 😔 Somehow these are taken as tools for entertaining viewers. They don't keep everything going on in a line according to certain moral standards or some social norms. Now here deviating from the line has been made a source of entertainment for the viewers. Can we determine up to what extent this is good & up to what it is bad? I don't think it is possible because once there is something abnormal it is there no matter how big or small.
Many of my friends & relatives watch a comedy show aired late night on a different channel. Undoubtedly, it is very entertaining & gives you a good laugh most of the time. But their main concept is highly annoying. 😆 Flirting your neighbor's wife, doing what not to spend time with her, desiring to romance her & even drug her for some weird reason. 🤢 WTH are they showing!? All these are highly unacceptable in an Indian society. But somehow we are entertained by the same with a mask of comedy & one-liners. Like this many popular shows have got an X factor that can easily takeover certain unacceptable content shown time to time. Be it the popularity of an actor or the chemistry of the leads or some controversy...viewers easily ignore even if there is something objectionable as long as their favorite element is involved with it & is successful in entertaining them.
