Hello guys, I'm Sapna and I'm new here. I've previously been active on the Swaragini and Tasha-E-Ishq forum, you may have seen me there. Anyways, I've been a silent reader on this forum for about a week now and I liked the activity so I thought I would join as well! So personally I wasn't really interested in ADDKN at first, but around episode 11 or so, I started getting interested and started following the show. Eventually I started really liking it and even went back and watched the first 10 episodes. I made this post to share my thoughts and opinions on the show and characters.

1) Tejaswani Mehta: I really like her character. She is shown as a willful person who has a strong resolve. I really like the fact that she doesn't give up no matter what curveballs are thrown at her. She stands up for what she thinks is right, even if she is standing alone; she isn't afraid of anyone. Also, she barely ever cries, unlike other shows where the FL's probably spend more time crying than smiling. Overall, I just really like her character. I just hope they don't make her mahaan.

2) Prem Singh Rathore: I honestly don't know how I feel about him. Sometimes, I can't help but like him and other times, I just can't bring myself to like him LOL. He is so creepy sometimes. I think he needs to stop being such a big baby who hides behind his father's name. He should decide what he wants in life and become someone other than DSR's son who everyone is afraid of. If his father ever disowned him, he would literally be penniless. Also, his pretence in front of his family really annoys me. They genuinely think that he's changed for the good, but little do they know that he's just pretending to be a better person. I wish their words affected him more and he felt bad for betraying them like that.

3) PreJaswani: Overall, they have really good potential and really good chemistry but I think there should still be some time before they fall in love. Of course I know that they're the leads and I'm obviously rooting for them in the end, however, if Teja falls in love with Prem the way he is right now, I would be super disappointed. He is always creepily stalking her, trying to control her life (to some extent), manhandling and bullying her, entering her personal space by catching her off guard, being rude to her, and what not. What I would love to see is Prem falling in love with Teja and realizing that she deserves much better than him. Heck, I wouldn't even mind them throwing in a love triangle to make Prem mend his ways. But once Prem changes even a little bit for the better I will be on board ship PreJaswani instantly.

4) The "Chellenges": Prem and Tejaswani's challenges with each other at this point really seem to be going nowhere. By that I mean no one really wins these "chellenges" they both take turns having the upper hand. And ultimately the challenge just leads into another challenge. This cycle of challenges is really interesting for now because the tashan mixed with the few unintentional intimate moments is quite entertaining. But I think if they keep challenging each other, the story isn't really going to progress much. Hopefully the challenges will end soon and the CV's will find another way to bring PreJaswani aamne saamne.

5) Dharam Singh Rathore: Another character I'm pretty conflicted about. He seems to be a genuinely good person right now, but he definitely doesn't have a clean history. His own brother is miffed at him for some reason, and then the obvious: he killed Teja's dad. I personally think he used to be a bad person, who changed his ways over time. But I guess that's what the suspense is; we'll find out eventually. I really like his bonding with Teja, he's ironically filling the lack of a father figure in her life.

6) Teja's Mom (don't know her name): Just like her daughter, she seems to be a really strong woman as well. We haven't seen much of her as of yet, but she's definitely a protective mother who loves Teja a lot and wants the best for her.

7) Arjun: I REALLLY don't like him. This guy has been an absolute douchebag since day one. He's an even bigger baby than Prem. It's pretty ironic, that out of the three brothers, Deep seems to be the most righteous, yet his own son Arjun, is the least righteous out of his cousins. Also I don't understand what he even wants; sometimes he acts as if he's in charge, but as soon as Prem shows up he becomes a total chamcha. He's so afraid of Prem, but at the same time I think he wants to have as much power as Prem does.

8) Vinay and Ajju: These two's characters have not been explored much, but basically, both of them are chamchas. They don't use their own brains to decipher what is wrong and what is right, but instead let their brothers dictate to them what is right and what they should do. I kind of wish we got to see their personalities a little more, but at the same time, I don't really care because they are such followers.

9) Family Dynamics: One thing I really appreciate about this show is the way the two families are depicted. Unlike other soaps, everyone in both families genuinely loves and cares for each other. Teja's mami willingly gave up her daughter's jewellery so that Teja could pursue higher education. Even in Prem's family everyone is treated equally with respect and love, even the conflict between Deep and DSR/Anand is shown realistically. In other soaps extended family like mamis and chachis always seem to have ulterior motives, but fortunately in this show, there's none of that.

10) Aisi Deewangi DKN Overall: As a whole, the show is going really good so far, they have covered quite a lot in just 25 episodes. Hopefully the show continues at this pace rather than a dragging pace like other soaps. The show has great potential and I hope it does well and stays on air long enough for all of the current tracks to be explored and given justice to. Because the leads and the concept is fresh, I don't think it's gonna get much attention from TRP aunties, but hopefully they won't shut it down.

11) The Gujarati: Sometimes, I really can't stand the dialogues spoken by the characters because they're just a salad of Gujarati and Hindi words put together which make a really grammatically incorrect. I am Gujarati so I can understand what they're saying well, but at the same time I can easily pick up all the bad grammar. As an NRI, I don't know if there's people in India who speak this Gujarati-Hindi hybrid language, but for some reason it really bothers me. Also I hate when a character says an entire sentence in Hindi but then instead of saying "hai" at the end they say "chhe." This is probably just a topic that bothers me and no one else, but sometimes its so frustrating so I added it in.

Well I guess that's it for now. I feel like I've probably repeated some of the stuff that's already been said on the forum, but I wanted to do an analysis of the show and characters as a whole. I hope you guys liked my analysis enough to leave your own thoughts in the comments.

PS: Is it just me who can't wait for Monday's episode to find out what happens between PreJaswani after Teja drinks the spiked drink?

Nice analysis dear ,it seems whatever you have written about each charecter is very ture, but i think its too early to comment on any charecter as story is still in phase one.
I have read many post about Teja not being fierce enough this and that but people are not realizing is that she is no super women even though she has courage .I mean she cannot fight like wonder women to arjun and prem her situation is right now is bit helpless cuz even thought she is trying to be fair but situation is against her but she is trying her best.she just cannot do magic she knows when to take her foot down cuz being fierce all the time won't help her.sometimes you want to do so much but yet you are helpless and she cannot make bigger mess which inturn will effect her further education.
Prem he is one of perfect gray charecter like we all are in real life not all good but he can be easily get effected by others words. It will take hell lot of fight for him to understand that he loves teja as his ego is bigger then his brain.
About prejas well they are so called enimes yet they are comfy in each other touch and presence which makes them diffrent. They are like magnet which attract each other no matter how much hate is there.
For people who are saying that Teja shoudnt have taken that drink ,see story wont move forward unless she takes drink.after this party thing prejas relationship will change drastically and thier opinion of each other also will change.
This is just drama ,soap opera not real life so dont need to think much just enjoy the madness of love the intense chemistry .👍🏼
I just want to see how prem will act after this whole issue and his feelings will definitely change and teja will think the whole thing is his fault and will be more detemined to teach him lesson .

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I agree with your points.

I think Teja is doing the best she can with the given situation. She has to manage her studies, her position of GS, Prem and his challenges (plus the bros and peer pressure that comes with it), hiding everything from her mom, AND making sure not to hurt Prem's family in her fight with him. Considering the fact that she's alone in her fight, she's managing everything pretty well.

You're right about PreJas are comfortable in each other's presence. Personally, I don't like when people (other than my family) enter my personal space without permission, so I find their comfort levels with each other unusual.

Well Prem picked up the drink from the waiter's tray in front of her, so I don't think she thought much of it. I totally agree; they're relationship is definitely going to change after this and I'm looking forward to it!

Haha yeah, I guess I kind of got a little over analytical with this post. 😆 I guess I have too much time on my hands. 😆

Great analysis!
No, you're not the only one, even I can't wait to see drunk Teja 😆.

I think so far, the best character of the show for me is Tejaswini. I love how she doesn't make herself look small in front of Prem like she did at the start of the show, now she doesn't leave him alone until she throws it back in his face. They do continuously challenge each other but it'll be so good to see Teja winning those challenges and showing Prem and his brothers what she's made of.

Im getting a feeling that Arjun might end up coming in between Prem and Tejaswini in the future considering he's the one who always creates misunderstandings between them as for the other two cousins, I know it might not ever happen but I would love to see what happens if they ended up going against Arjun instead of listening to his orders all the time.

I also hope they keep up with the good pace of the story. They're not taking their time with tracks and neither are they rushing into the story either which is really good so far.

Yes you said right she is alone in this fight and she is managing best she can.
Somehow all blame will be on prem and hereon her hate for him will increase.ARjun is one weirdo he will not take the blame.
No dear your analysis was bang on as of now but what i like about this serial is there no OTT negativity, just gray charecter.
Keep on porting in forum as we need to make it more active.

Thanks!
Yeah this show has done a pretty good job of keeping viewers hooked.

I love Teja too, and would love to see her winning the challenges despite the odds stacked against her. Prem and his brothers are too overconfident and it would be great to see her beating them.

Yes even I see Arjun coming in between them in the future. He seems like a pretty vengeful person who'll go to any extent to take revenge against Teja for breaking his attitude. I feel like when Prem falls in love with Teja, Arjun will turn vengeful against him too. I'm kind of looking forward to seeing Arjun as a villain. I think I'll enjoy hating him. 😆 😆 As far as Vinay and Ajju are concerned, I feel like they're always flipping sides as per their convenience, at first they were with Arjun in his plan to frame Teja. But once Prem found out the truth and got angry at Arjun, they switched to Prem's side and told Arjun "you're not in this plan." I would also love to see them turn against Arjun, especially because there's two of them and only one of him. Let's see what the CV's have in store for us.

Yeah, the pace is great, it keeps us on our toes.

Yeah Arjun has too much of an ego. And you're right, the show doesn't show unrealistic OTT drama.

I will continue being as active as I can, I also want the forum rank to increase! 😆

I'm really enjoying this show a lot. I'm writing from Canada and my TV provider broadcasts it through Zee TV Canada so I just want to put it out there that I really appreciate that they provide English subtitles as I don't speak the language at all. However, I am learning many words since watching Zee TV!

Anyway...I think the producers did a fantastic job of picking these actors to play these characters because they do it so well. Pranav does an excellent job of portraying many emotions across his face. When Teja is lecturing him about something, you can see the anger, annoyance, hurt pride, and even caring change across his face and eyes. It changes ever so subtly but it's there.

Prem is overly prideful to be sure and we know that it's completely misplaced. The thing is, he comes from a powerful family and he's been accustomed probably his whole life getting his own way. He orders people around, snapping his fingers. People jump. People don't say "no" to him. He knows his family history and that people fear his dad and so he uses it to his advantage.

But then along comes this slip of a girl and she proves that she's braver than most. She is good. She stands up for justice and more importantly she stands up against him. I think, that in itself, attracts him to her. Yes, he has a hate for her but at the same time his caring side comes out naturally. You notice that his reactions towards her that are caring are instant. They aren't planned.

When she tripped on the steps and hurt her ankle, he instinctively ran to her aid. When she started crying after her mom's phone call, he was alarmed and then when she was limping to the outside bench he reached out his hand to her but then he remembered that he is supposed to hate her so then he pulled back. Then the night in the jail cells when he kept looking at her when she was sleeping showed that he's being pulled in two directions. He has his revenge plan in motion but then he's drawn to her at the same time.

I noticed that when he gets a bit nervous, he runs his hand on the back of his neck. When he planned to start his ruse of falling in love with her, he stood outside her bedroom door when she was blow drying her hair. I believe the beginning of that scene, he actually got drawn in watching her and then when she turned around and saw him, he had to start his "acting" and then he nervously ran his hand through the back of his hair.

Even when Uncle Anand confronted him about his behaviour with Teja he nervously ran his hand through the back of his hair so you know that it's a natural reaction of his since he does it with his family as well. So now you can read his body language better when he's with Teja.

The writers did a great job of showing you that Prem's family killed Teja's dad and that they are the "bad guys" but then they pulled you in and showed that this is a family who love each other, they laugh together and welcomed Teja in and genuinely care about her. When she finally learns that Dharam and Anand killed her dad, it will crush her heart. You know that it will also crush Dharam's heart too because he now thinks of her as a daughter. I think it will pull Prem in the middle of both sides.

It's wonderfully paced and written and thank you for sharing your programs with us!

Hey, I really like your analysis and I totally agree with you. The way they've set up the plot and shaped the characters is really intriguing and catches people's interests. And of course there's PreJas, it's so great to see the hate-love relationship between them.

I'm from Canada too, and it's so nice to see people like you who don't understand the language but still watch the show and are active on India Forums. You chose a good show to watch as well, because some Indian dramas show Indian culture and people in such a bad light. If you don't mind me asking, what's your nationality?

Not at all, I'm Caucasian and I speak English. I come from a French Canadian background and spoke French until I was 5 but then when I started school I started losing it. My parents are French speaking but we all speak English to each other.

This is the first time I've ever joined a forum. I'm so drawn to this show that it borders on obsession. I don't know what's wrong with me! I read a few posts and thought it was a great place to talk about a show I love.

I also watch Kumkum Bhagya, Bin Kuch Kahe, Woh Apna Sa, Mehek and Piyaa Albela but I'm really drawn to Aisi Deewangi.

I love foreign films and enjoy watching the Bollywood films as well. I feel sometimes like they have a bit more substance than the "Hollywood" films.

I think what I like about these Indian shows is that the culture is different than North American. Yes, we all love our families here too, but the Indian family as portrayed on these shows all live together under one roof, they are very affectionate and expressive with each other, unless they're trying to kill each other. The guys hug each other and treat each other as brothers even if they are not related. Everyone older is addressed as either Aunty or Uncle and I think if you already practice that respect with each other, it shows a different aspect of the family life that isn't shown on North American shows.

They definitely have the whole hand gestures down to an art too! When Prem was telling Uncle Anand that he was in love with Teja, I just about fell off my chair laughing so hard because Anand's expressions and hand gestures were so priceless! I just wanted to hug him!

As you know, in the American soaps they rip each other's clothes off when they soon meet and they jump into bed with each other at a drop of a hat. But the Indian soaps don't even have the lead characters kissing (I do wish they would at least kiss!) and when they have an eye lock, this mysterious wind suddenly blows into the room. And blows the woman's hair gently around her. Inside the house. With no visible windows open! That's love!!

When watching these soaps, I noticed that when the word "beta" (I may have spelled that wrong) was being used when speaking to someone, the subtitles translated it as the person's name. But it confused me because "beta" was being used whether they were speaking to a male or female. Google Translate said it meant "son" but why would they call the female character, "son". This drove me crazy so one day I went to the gas station in my neighbourhood which is owned by an Indian family and I asked the employees to help me. I asked if they spoke Hindi and could they help me translate a word in my Hindi soap. It was hilarious because I had six employees graciously help me with the word and now if I need help, I just go back them.

Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on that long!
