Chapter 18 Heartfelt Apology!

They reached home by 3.00 pm and the bell rang again while they walked inside... Khushi went back to open the door...

There was home delivery... Almost her size box, another small box and a card...

Khushi barely managed to get all the stuff inside... It was sent to her! She was confused who could sent her such a big box and why?

"Khushi might as well open it..." Nani suggested...

Khushi slowly opened the big box and there was this plush, soft bear almost 4 ft. size...

"So cute..." She loved the bear and hugged it tight... Then she opened the small box to find chocolates...

"Nice, yummy chocolates..." She was totally excited like a small kid...

Then she opened the card and was shocked to see who sent it... It was the cutest sorry card asking her to hug him... She was suddenly embarrassed standing in front of him...

"Khushi bitiya, who sent all this to you?" Nani asked...

"Nani, it's from Arnavji..." She felt so shy and she ran to her room with chocolates and card still in her hand...

"Crazy but cute..." Arnav muttered to himself and took the bear with him...

"Great progress Chote in one day... But make it always stays like this... Don't ever hurt her..." Nani warned him...

"I promise you Nani, I will not hurt her... I will amend all my mistakes, trust me please this time..". Arnav assured Nani...

"Khushi, where do you want to keep this bear?" Arnav asked her...

"Keep it near my desk, he will give company while studying or reading... He is so cute and what should I name him?" Khushi replied...

"Really?" Arnav laughed at her childish behavior and she was embarrassed...

"Maybe I will name him Cutu... My other bear at home is Tutu... He is my boyfriend at my home and this one is..." She murmured to herself but Arnav heard her...

"What did you say?" Arnav asked her amused and curious...

"No, nothing..." Khushi blamed herself for habit to talk to herself...

"If that Tutu at your home was your boyfriend, then is this Cutu your husband?" Arnav asked her jokingly...

"Yeah maybe... I don't know... All I know is Cutu is too cute... I love him..." Khushi hugged her bear...

Arnav suddenly didn't like the so called Cutu bear, though not sure why... But he was happy, he could break the ice between them and now slowly he needed to build on it...

"Khushi, I really hope you will be able to forgive me... Some of my past experiences did not let me respect women... All the girls around me always wanted to be close for their advantage at work or money... No one really wanted to know real me and I became prejudiced..." He knew, he always backed out from relationship and apologized genuinely...

"What is it Arnav?" Khushi was sure it's not just his prejudice...

"Khushi, would you be able to forgive me if I admit it was not just my prejudice but somewhere I took you for granted knowing your traditional values?" Arnav decided to come clean... No point throwing excuses any more...

Khushi looked straight into his eyes, waited for him to open up and tell her all...

"I knew you would try hard in this marriage so I kind of took you for a ride... I am so sorry but I do not want to get away by just blaming on the past... You were always honest and upfront... I thought I could get away with whatever I behave because you will still be here and not leave me due to your traditional background... I always gave more importance to my work and other things... There is no excuse for my horrible behavior towards you all these days... What I did to you was completely illogical and unacceptable..." Arnav couldn't help but admit...

"I have no excuse for demeaning your career choice, your clothes or what you eat? I am so sorry for doing that... I just couldn't control my anger when they mocked us both..." Arnav knew his anger always brought out his worst behavior ...

"Arnav, even I am sorry for being so rude and disrespectful to you. I did not mean it. I just wanted to show you the reality. I never meant to give you any character certificate or accuse you... And I do not disrespect your work... In fact, I do not disrespect any type of work... I am so sorry" Her apology was equally genuine.

"So one sorry from both of us for today is good start right?" Arnav laughed.

"Yes... but start what?" She nodded and asked curiously...

"So can we start fresh and give this relationship a chance? Please? What say?" Arnav asked her looking into her eyes expecting a yes from her...

"Ok, but can you give me some time please?" She blushed so hard, turned all red and looked gorgeous...

"Great... And sure, take your own time... I am ok with it... What time do you plan to go and work with Alan? If you want to go after breakfast, I can drop you while going and then have driver pick you up... Will it work?" He asked her...

"Yes, but if our kitchen is under repair, where do we get food from?" Khushi asked innocently.

"There is another kitchen in the guest house. HP will cook there breakfast and lunch. If you want, you can go there too" He told her...

"And Khushi, I strictly want you to start using car to go out... It is for safety reasons as well... Else I would be worried about your safety and whereabouts... Can you please use your car with driver to go out?" Arnav warned her politely.

"Ok, I will and I will not go anywhere without informing you and Nani" She promised.

"Oh I forgot, tomorrow first we need to go to Neena's office to choose tiles, counter tops and then I will drop you... I must say you have a busy schedule tomorrow" Arnav reminded her about the kitchen remodeling visit to Neena...

"Khushi, are you forgetting something?" Arnav asked Khushi looking at her intently...

"What?" She asked not understanding...

"Check the sorry card again" He smirked... Then she realized what he meant, he wanted her to hug him... She stood there blushing...

"Oh god, arguing with him was so easy last night... But his smirks and teases will kill me... This Laad Governor is totally bi-polar", she thought...

"Khushi, I am waiting... He opened his arms and invited her...

She just stepped forward, stood close to him... Arnav stepped forward and hugged her tight... That's all he could do and he felt it so right... She felt it so right... As if they belong with each other, in each other's arms always...

"Khushi I am really sorry... I will make it up to you..." Arnav apologized again...

"Can you please stop saying sorry for now? Let me absorb the changes first and give me some time..." Khushi was annoyed now...

"Ok baby..." He still didn't let go her from the bear hug...

The next whole week was super busy for both of them... With renovation going on at home and Khushi going every day to learn under Alan at Oberoi restaurant...

Every day Arnav was dropping her to Oberoi and enjoying her child like excitement with so many expressions on her face when telling him about her experiences with Alan and what all new cooking tricks she is learning...

Arnav would just watch her face continuously... Oh how much he wished, he kissed her hard whenever she pouted like that...0

At least he would hold her hand all the time, kiss on her cheeks and say good bye... Tremendous progress they made as a couple, he knew... Still she needs a lot of time to be friendlier with him... He could still see getting scared of him occasionally and shuts herself off... Also seeing her shy nature, he decided they need lot of ground work!
