TSMSPJ*ep.66*17.6.17: My Impression* Uncomplicated therapies
At times remedies can be more daunting than then infirmity itself . Body aliments depending on their nature, can be rectified by specific cures. However, the infirm of spirit may just need other supplements too, then prescribed medication. One much suggested therapy is laughter. As it not only flexes body muscles but it also releases mental tension and replaces it with a sense of, if nothing else short term stress relief. Today's episode hones into varies methods humans use when they attempt to reach out to others to express their views and justify their behaviours.
Uma and Kanak scene continues to shape up with ideological differences between the two. Interestingly, to strengthen his stance Uma justifies his actions, of keeping Payal at his house despite her unhappiness, by rattling off moral and ethical values. Uma's stand that his faith gives him the conviction to be disciplined and upright, may not be entirely true. There are people who don't adhere to any particular faith other than humanity.Yet they uphold and practice the basic human values, of mercy, compassion, respect and justice. To me, as Kanak dares to challenge and question his austere practices, Uma, tends to dismisses her off as seeing the world through rose tinted glasses. However it is noteworthy, that with fine oratory Uma seems to settle the dust over Payal's issue. That her parents gave consent for the marriage. What about Payal? For me Uma, has set rules, which he wants to be imitated strictly, by everyone. Imitate is the skill of copying.. he wants his mannerisms , mindset , traditions emulated copied by his family. He believes his faith gives him an identity.. Kanak wants to show him ,his understanding of true faith seems to alongside veer him off from the path of humanity. Where lies his support for the emotionally needy? His disregard to how Payal may feel, seems to be overshadowed by adherence to rule keeping. May be Kanak finds his views plausible. But she needn't. It's strictly business here. Get Bhabo's papers registered in her name, meanwhile bear him and family then scram!
Palomi looks for moments to apply her healing touch , is called making under hand moves against Kanak ,groping for Uma's attention. Palomi imitates Maasi's habit of sending out feelers to get a feel of what goes on in her household regime.
The bonding between the brothers Shiv and Uma while reading the news paper, is really to give Kanak the information that Yagya, or sacrifice, devotion, worship, offering, is also practiced abroad. Through the musical ad in the newspaper Kanak gets to hear the cryptic message of her two brothers as well! This is joy therapy for her for sure! Strange how happiness heals one to such an extent that one has this impulse to share it with others!
Kanak's acting upon her dharma is to sow hope and respite where there is despondency and sadness. She emulates the art of mimicry to create an imitation of what it would sound like.. if Massi's spoke to her with love. Talking from her past experience .Those moments where rejection by Bhabo brought her down. How her brother used the art of mimicry pretended to be one whose love she craved for. Kanak recalls how Vansh used to heal her by imitating a loving message from Bhabo. It is said that "for many organisms, chances of survival are improved because they have evolved to imitate the looks, sounds, actions, or other characteristics of different organisms. Humans to do this, mimic someone, or something, to conceal their sentiments, and protect themselves from further grief and stress. Thus Kanak mimics Vansh, does so to with the specific purpose to make Payal laugh hysterically! pull her out of the doldrums of despair..as she waits for a husband who might never come back!.
Kanak's dharm is not heavy and unfathomable hard hitting regulations. It is simple unfussy down to earth remedies like mimicry! giving some pep talk to Payal! Kanak wants to give Payal relaxation, diversion and support from effort, severity, strictness! She wants the poor hard done by girl to loosen up! with some fun loving pastimes !like splashing legs in the cool fountain waters. It's simple laughter therapy that Payal needs for sure. She wants Payal to drink in life from the beauty of natural surroundings. Quite simply she tries to show Payal how to value life. This is Kanak's dharm to give life as a gift for living. By giving the cup of milk meant for Uma to Payal! Kanak changes a situation imitates Massi... just like Vansh pretended to be Bhabo.. this is organisms copying another for the sake of survival.
Finally human's behaving badly to get their ways ,however slyly and underhanded. Palomi's eavesdropping, secretly listening to Uma and Kanak's conversation. Here like Kanak lifts Payal's spirits selflessly.. Palomi too attempts to win Uma's trust like before. Makes sure he watches a leg splashing laughing Payal at the fountain, and heals Uma by saying she couldn't help overhearing him and kanak . he musn't blame himself.. he can see for himself how happy and normal Payal is. Palomi adds in slyly ,that the truth is that Kanak fails to understand him, Uma gives her a freezing look and she adds ,as yet..
I quite liked the episode, both Uma and Kanak have thought provoking things to say. Their styles of dealing with life are interestingly different. Kanaks day to day tips of tackling life are great! The happy bit is Kanak's brothers get through to her..and now her response? Uma wants to know what she is up to? Hamlet53 18.6.17
