Chapter 4:
Sonakshi is all engrossed in dev's thoughts. She thinks how can someone be so helpful and understanding to a person who is totally a stranger.
She realizes that her mother had already told that he is a gem of a person. She felt bad for saying him that they should not speak often. Then she suddenly felt that he also respected her decision of not talking to him and even stood by it. How could someone be so nice she thought.
Here Dev is also thinking about Sonakshi.
Dev:really she is a very nice person. Though I could not talk to her much, I can understand what she feels about her family. She wants to live an independent life, also her parents respect is the most preferable one for her. How can she be too good. Really sona is a perfect person. From her voice and her talks I can feel that she had seen so many things at a very small age. That's why she wants her family to be happy and respectful even in her absence. Sona sona. What have you done to me. I am only thinking about you. Wait did I tell sona.
When did Sonakshi became sona to me. Oh god what's happening to me. I talked to her only once. In such a a short span of time she has made me crazy about her. Dev. It's enough. Go go and sleep. You have to go to office.
Days passes. Ishwari becomes closer to Sonakshi. Though Sonakshi is busy with her placement training and studies, she spends time to know Ishwari more. She treats Ishwari as her own mother. Ishwari feels happy for getting a daughter - in-law like Sonakshi.
Sonakshi even spends time with dev's sisters. They become close friends.
From Ishwari, Dev gets to know that the day1company which Is going to visit Sonakshi 's campus is the company in which he works. He thinks to give some tips to her. But he can't. As Sonakshi will hesitate to talk he didn't want to create an awkward situation. He thinks what to do. He then talks to his maa and asked permission. Then he called asha.
Asha :yes beta say what's the matter.
Dev :actually maa... Umm.. Can I call you maa..
Asha : of course Dev. You can call as your wish. I am glad that I have a son-in-law like you.
Dev :thank you maa. I just wanted to discuss something about Sonakshi 's placement.
Asha :yes dev tell.
Dev :actually I just came to know that the day1company that will be visiting her college campus is where I work. So I wanted to tell some details regarding that.
Asha :it's so nice of you Dev. I am happy that you are taking so much effort and interest in Sonakshi 's desires.
Dev :maa.. Until few days back my happiness lied only in my family' s happiness. But now Sonakshi is also going to be a part of my life. So her desires, her wishes also matters me. My happiness lies in her happiness also. Not only Sonakshi even you are all my family. So I just want all of you to be happy.
Asha:your values are really very great Dev. I had always thought that how will Sonakshi 's husband would be. Will he care about sona or not. But you are some one who I did not even imagine. You are the perfect match for her. I am very happy that she is going to get married to a person like you.
Dev :maa, even I think that Sonakshi is perfect for me in all terms. OK now let's come to the matter. As I said earlier, I am giving some instructions. You better record those things and ask Sonakshi to hear it. It will be very helpful for her.
Asha :you itself can tell her na Dev.
Dev :No maa. We have decided not to talk before marriage. She doesn't want someone speak Ill of you as she talked to me. And I support her in this decision.
Asha :you guys will never change.by the way, my phone is on auto call record mode. So whatever we speak will automatically get recorded
Dev:what. Then whatever I spoke till now, did it get recorded.
Asha:yes Dev. OK now tell me what you wanted to say.
Dev :what's this maa. Won't you say before itself. OK leave it. I'll say the important things.
Dev instructs everything to Asha. And then asks her to inform Sonakshi. And cuts the call.
Asha then waits for Sonakshi and tells her everything asked she came home. Sonakshi was very surprised at his gesture and also very happy. She told asha whenever Dev calls her, she asked her to thank him on behalf of her.
The next day when Dev calls asha, she tells everything that Sonakshi told. He feels very happy that Sonakshi liked his gesture and was very happy. Then the important day in Sonakshi 's life arrives. That's her first placement drive. She was happy and excited. Dev called asha and asked her to give Sonakshi best wishes on behalf of him. Then Ishwari also wished her after sometime.
The day was very good for Sonakshi. She successfully completed all the rounds and was selected in the company and has to work at Delhi. She was on cloud nine. Her dream had become true. She thanked God for giving her such good parents, sister, Dev and Ishwari who stood by her at this time. She went home to deliver the good news.
Here Dev already came to know that Sonakshi has been selected. Then suddenly something stuck his mind. He realises that Sonakshi still didn't know him. She has neither seen his photo nor knows the company in which he works. But now Sonakshi has to work in the same company and almost the same location. Yes, she has to work at Delhi. Now the situation will become awkward when she will come to know that she has to work with him. Also, after knowing this, she may not talk to him freely as she will talk to her colleagues. So, he decided not to tell her about this until the right time. He then informed both the families about this.
Mean while, Sonakshi informed her parents about this. They were very happy. Their daughter 's dream had come true. All her family members congratulated them. Sonakshi asked asha to call Dev and tell the matter. Asha and Bijoy were happy that Sonakshi had started giving importance to Dev. They called him and told the matter. He was also happy as Sonakshi had insisted to tell his the matter.
Days passed so soon. Now it was time for Sonakshi to join in her work.
Some of her family members told that after arranging marriage she should not go so far an work. But her parents supported as always
Also, this time Ishwari was on her side. She also supported her.
It was time for Sonakshi to go to Delhi. Her parents had already spoken to Dev about her residence.he arranged everything and told them that he will get introduced to her only as a colleague and help will look after her. He will make sure that Sonakshi may not face any problem.
After dev's assurance, they were satisfied.
The next day Sonakshi after bidding farewell to everyone reached Delhi. Her parents had given her some address. That's where she is going to stay. She went there and was surprised that everything was already arranged. As she was tired of her travel she informed her parents and then soon went to sleep.
The next day was her first day in her job. She thought she should not do any mistakes and down her work properly. She prayed to God and left.
Everything was very smooth in her office. The hr introduced the new candidates to their respective team members.
Sonakshi greeted her colleagues. Her team members introduced themselves to her. Fortunately she was assigned in the same team of Dev. When he introduced himself to Sonakshi as Dev she felt something different. But did not tell anything.
Dev felt happy seeing Sonakshi for the first time. Since Dev was the team leader, so had to train Sonakshi. But when he talked to Sonakshi, she felt as if they had talked earlier. But she didn't ask him directly. Meanwhile Dev was excited as Sonakshi will be his team member and he will get more time to spend with her.
Whenever he spoke to him, she was reminded of her fiance. Only once she had spoken to him, but she felt as if she was talking to him when she is with Dev, her team leader.
In the evening when Sonakshi returned home, she way very surprised to see Dev near her home.
Yes, both their houses were nearby. Dev came to her and started talking.
Dev:hi Sonakshi.
Sonakshi :hi Dev. Is your home here.
Dev:yeah. That's my home. Is this yours.
Sonakshi :yeah. Please come inside.
Dev:No no that's OK. You will be having so much work. Please carry on with that. I will come later. By the way I am your team leader only at the office. Not here OK. Please feel free. If you have any problem tell me. I'll handle it.
Sonakshi :thank you Dev.
Dev: OK i have some works. I'll catch you later. Bye
Sonakshi :bye.
Later Dev came to Sonakshi 's home
Dev:Sonakshi, I know that you are new here. That's why I thought of helping you have you arranged everything like groceries, food...
Sonakshi :No actually I have to go tomorrow. Because it's too late today.
Dev: OK then. Let's do one thing. Tomorrow after finishing our work, I'll help you in those things. OK.
Sonakshi :it's okay Dev. Thank you so much.
Dev :why do you often say thank you Sonakshi. It's not a big issue. Feel free. Think me as your friend OK.
Sonakshi :alright dev.
Dev : OK now go any sleep. It's getting late. I don't want my team to be late.
Sonakshi : OK Dev. I'll be on time. Good night.
Dev:good night Sonakshi.
Dev : oh god. Now Sonakshi and I have become friends. I am very happy.
