Chapter 7 - Khushi makes few friends!
"Nannav, are you going to Singhania's party tonight? Is that why you are early?" NK asked Arnav. Whole world knew about Singhania's 25th marriage anniversary event and obviously Arnav would be invited too being Singhania's close business partner...
"Yeah, I will" Arnav confirmed. He had thought for a change to take Khushi with him but did not know how to approach her...
"See Khushi, I told you... So now Arnav is busy and not home for dinner right? So let's go for a movie and catch up with my friends... Now you cannot say no. Plus we can go to your favorite Star Wars series movie... I already promised Ria, Samarth and Nisha" NK didn't allow Khushi to sit anymore and sent her to get ready... Already he was on phone talking to his friends asking them to book the movie tickets...
"Can I go to the movie Arnavji?" Khushi still asked Arnav as soon as he reached the bedroom...
"Ok" That's all he said. He could not ask her for the party after NK announced his plans to take her for a movie with his friends... Arnav knew all the friends anyways but he was surprised Khushi's liking for English movies as well...
"I would have liked to go with you to the anniversary party only if you will ever ask me out!" Khushi sighed. She knew, he clearly said he will go and not they will go... That meant he wasn't even considering taking her with him...
"Should I request me to take with him? But what is he says no? What if he says something more or gets angry? Leave it, don't try your luck" her heart warned her...
"Is he going out there with Lavanya?" Immediately thought came in Khushi's mind and her mood was already spoilt...
"Maybe tomorrow's Page 3 will tell me what will happen in the part! That's my only way to know" So at least going with friends is better than being alone and sulking alone in a corner, Khushi went into the bathroom to get ready...
Khushi came out wearing a long, flare dark blue jeans skirt and sleeveless red embroidery top... Minimal makeup, high heels and a matching handbag and she was ready... Arnav couldn't help but mesmerize how gorgeous she looked without any efforts... She took like 5 minutes to get ready managed to look her best... Should he just tell her how beautiful she looks...? He kept thinking but did not say anything...
"Wow Khushi, you look so chic and hot..." NK as usual never failed to compliment her... She looked at Arnav and was blushing...
Arnav finished his call from his room... Was really tired and exhausted to go to the party but his attendance was important.
He got ready and went to the party... His mind was still on Khushi and how gorgeous she looked... He attended party just for couple of hours, got bored with meeting the usual people and rushed back home early... He couldn't enjoy the party and felt uneasy at the thought of Khushi enjoying with friends when they could have been together at the party... He did not know why he felt that way...
"Arnav, you are back so early. I thought you won't come back before 3 or 4 am early morning, your usual time... Is everything ok?" Nani asked curiously. Nani could see his changed behavior towards Khushi and he did not like Khushi going for a movie...
"Yeah Nani, I guess I was just a little tired" Arnav honestly mentioned.
"If you work like machine, you are bound to be tired. I suggest you mingle with NK, Khushi and me... We do so many fun things. She makes me feel so young... Soon I will be acting teen ager" Nani laughed...
Indeed he saw his Nani really fresh and active... Khushi's Yoga lessons, garden walks and proper food were doing wonders to Nani's health...
"Yeah I guess" Arnav first time approved of Nani's idea and wanted to join the trio in fun...
Just then NK and Khushi walked in with their remaining gang...
"So good to see you ASR" Ria and Nisha ran towards Arnav and hugged him... Needless to say they both had a big crush on Arnav just like all other girls out there. They were both still standing very close to Arnav and talking to him...
Khushi somehow did not like it even a bit but she did not know why? She decided to make coffee for everyone and walked towards the kitchen...
"So how is your new girlfriend Lavanya? Beauty with brains right?" Ria asked wanting to get inside scoop. Khushi heard it when she was about to enter the kitchen...
"Seriously Ria? Do you even want to discuss those Page 3 rumors, gossip and waste my time?" Arnav was embarrassed by such a personal question on his life and just hoped Khushi did not hear it...
"Not really, that's why I asked... I needed to know if I still have a chance or not?" She joked and laughed out loud...
"Shut up Ria and stop flirting all the time... It doesn't work, not at least with me..." Arnav warned her in a serious tone...
Yeah, you guessed it right... Friends still do not know Khushi is his wife... Khushi did not find it important to declare herself Arnav's wife and grab all the attention when he does not even acknowledge her in his life properly yet... NK also did not want to go against Khushi's wishes and talk about her personal life... Arnav has still not accepted reality of life for whatever reasons... And their marriage has happened only with family and close friends!
By then Khushi came back with coffee for everyone.
"Khushi, you make the best coffee" Sam complimented her.
"I know" She politely acknowledged.
Nani looked at Khushi's upset face and could guess she was developing headache and she knew the reason for it as well.
"Khushi, are you tired?" Nani asked kind of indirectly hinting others to wrap up... Last thing she would want is upset Khushi with Ria and Nisha's talks about Lavanya...
"Yeah Nani, tired and getting headache!" Khushi just murmured.
"Guess what Khushi? I just have the right thing for your headache... I will give you the Tiger balm I picked up at UK airport while coming here. It always helps... Come I will give it to you..." NK started walking with Khushi after waving goodbye to friends...
"They look so adorable together... NK is always so caring towards Khushi. They are the best buddies..." Nisha commented and it was time for Arnav to get headache... Nani smiled looking at Arnav's frowned face, Arnav deserved it for not talking or acknowledging his and Khushi's relationship...
Arnav went back to their room... He saw Khushi applying the balm before sleeping...
"Are you ok?" Khushi was shocked to hear him... First time ever Arnav initiated some communication with her and in fact asked her how she was feeling...
"Yeah a mild headache... Hopefully will get better after a good night sleep" Khushi replied...
He saw her lying down on the sofa and adjusting her neck and back again and again... That's when first time he realized she may not be so comfortable on that sofa and he had never offered her to sleep on the bed... How can she sleep on sofa like that always? She could sleep on her side of the bed. What's the big deal?
"Here you go. Tylenol will help too" He handed her Tylenol and glass of water.
"You should sleep on your side of the bed. Sofa can be really uncomfortable..." He suggested. Was she sleeping on the sofa all these days? How uncomfortable it must have been, why can's she complain or talk to me? Why can't I be more careful with her instead of expecting her to complain? He decided to be more alert toward her needs...
"Are you sure?" She asked him unable to believe this day would ever come...
"Yes" That's all he said and she took her side on the bed and slept off...
