Chapter 6 - Khushi Shows Arnav the Mirror!

It's almost weekend! Khushi and even Anjali were looking forward to it... Anjali was pestering Khushi to do a joint spa massage session and have fun and plan to take Payal as well!

"Maybe over the weekend Di... We will steal Mamiji's precious appointment with Cynthia..." Khushi joked and Mamiji smiled at her...

"Sure Khushi, anything for my daughters..." Mamiji replied shocking Khushi to the core... Khushi felt overwhelmed and hugged her tight...

Khushi became fully aware that slowly Raizadas are seeing real Sheetal, she is nowhere close to sophisticated, intelligent and smart woman she portrayed when she entered RM... Her farce was almost over for the Raizada family but Sheetal was still living in her bubble... Naniji anyways never approved of Sheetal knowing she is single mom before marriage and her over exposing dressing sense...

Anjali herself is a very sorted, smart and organized woman and once she took the leap, there is no turning back... She always loves Khushi even before she married her Chote, for her smartness, simplicity and decision making capacity... She did not like anything average and she felt Sheetal has been nothing but deceiving...

In fact Khushi could see Anjali and Mamiji avoided Sheetal and entered the kitchen... Anjali asked Mamiji if she needs help in the kitchen while enjoying coffee made by Mamiji...

Payal and Akash jiju were busy with themselves... Laad governor is busy reading some magazine and Sheetal and Aarav are trying to hover over him...

"ASR, can we play chess or some other board game? You, me and mom?" Aarav asked Arnav looking at Sheetal... Sheetal smiled back at him...

"Not now Aarav, I am tired from work and want to sit with Nani and Mamaji... Khushi, can you get me my coffee? Can you make it please and not HP?" Arnav requested his coffee...

"Arnavji, relax for 5 minutes and I will get you your favorite coffee" Khushi nodded smiling inwardly and walked towards the kitchen...

Khushi saw Sheetal forcing Aarav to finish his homework faster and sit with ASR... Sheetal was pushing Aarav to sit with ASR and gain his attention... Only if her thick headed husband sees the reality around him, she thought... It would be very soon, she knew...

Just then Khushi's cell buzzed. She read the message and announced about her going out with her friends...

"Di, don't assume I am not eating the dishes made by Mamiji and you. You know, I have a big appetite. I will eat some and then go... Let me go get ready..." She was excited for a night out with her age friends...

"Khushi, how can you go when Mami and Di has cooked for all of us? And where are you going? Did you ask me or Naniji?" Arnav was already angry but controlled his anger... His mind got diverted seeing how beautiful, scratch that hot and sexy Khushi looked simple red and black long sleeveless dress with a cardigan...

"Oh come on Arnavji, I am going to eat a little as I already told them. But it's not first time someone has gone out to eat after food is ready... Remember you yourself took Aarav for a pizza when I served the dinner on the table the other day, spoiling that kid and breaking family tradition to eat dinner together whenever possible... Then why stop me? And plus everyone just informs and goes out, isn't it? You usually just inform while walking out the door or many times I get to know from Naniji or Di. So no big deal, right? Anyways everyone was at the table when I told about going out with my friends... Let me also enjoy one evening with my friends, my age group, so called immature and nave people in your world! I guess, I am entitled to enjoy one evening without being judged all the time..." She smiled sweetly while passing comments she had to hear from Sheetal in front of her husband in the past...

"If you need to know about your double standards and hypocrite behavior from my mouth, here it is" Khushi thought... He definitely needed that final push...

"Stop being grumpy always like an old man, Arnavji... It is a great day considering Di has started to work and brought a major positive change in her life... That itself calls for big celebration... Never mind, I will arrange to go out tomorrow with family... Let's surprise Di. Look at the bright side, why are you always sulking? Come on, smile..." She gave him a bright smile and walked out the door...

Arnav was completely taken aback with the latest changes in Khushi! She was smiling lot more yet very aggressive in her demeanor to put people in place and taking decisions... Not that he didn't like her standing up for herself and family, but he felt many steps behind her, always trying to catch up...

What did she call him, grumpy old man, always sulking? She is so right, he is always finding faults in her, ignore and be angry... She on the other hand always has solutions, be it Payal's pregnancy care, her studies, house chores, making Di busy and extra help for Mamiji... She is taking care of it all...

And she is right! He always informed his Di about his whereabouts but not necessarily his wife... Couple of times he went to events by informing his Di. But he forgot to inform his wife especially when Sheetal was accompanying him!

And you kept quiet when Sheetal called her immature and childish on basketball court and even the other day... Instead of teaching her basketball, you ignored her and chose to play with the person who insulted her, like seriously? his heart chided him... Today she is going with her friends and you are jealous! You are 24 * 7 surrounded by your ex' and her son who is carbon copy of you, how she must be feeling?

"I must do something about this Sheetal and Aarav. With everyone getting busy at home, we cannot entertain guests for so long... And why is that Sheetal not getting her apartment soon? She was supposed to be here for 2 days and she seems to be in no hurry?" Arnav was getting angry...

He requested HP to serve his dinner in his room pretending he has some urgent call... It was 11 pm and he could hear Sia, Jia and Khushi walking in while Karan was still in the car... Arnav's blood boiled thinking Karan spent whole evening with his Khushi!

"When did Karan become your age Khushi to party with him?" Arnav knew Karan was just a couple of years younger than him so easily five years older than Khushi!

"Oh Arnavji, Karan just behaves our age... Immature yet respectful to people around, believes in fairness and freedom for all... Easy going and fun to be around... So we took him with us..." She could see Arnav immediately ran his hands through his hair in frustration, brought them down to his sides and fisting his hands in anger...

"Just kidding Arnavji... It was a girls' night out... Karan just joined last few minutes and was our chauffer for tonight since SJ drink alcohol... You seem to be too much interested in Karan..." Khushi replied laughing controlling her storm within...

He realized she is always smiling these days while slapping the truth to everyone's face especially his... First time it really hurts him the most to see how deep her pain has been all these days due to his ignorance and anger... Every single time she smiled, he felt more guilt realizing her relentless efforts to hide her true feelings behind her smile...

"If it hurts her so much, I am in pain too... Why can't she simply sort out DNA issue instead of denying it, She is the one who didn't trust me after all" Arnav is still sulking over it...

Yes he failed to realize his storm was nothing compared to the turmoil of emotions Khushi has been running through all these days, the day Sheetal walked into their lies to be precise... She almost drowned in those insecurities and insults before she woke up to take control...

"I am so tired Arnavji, let me sleep... I have few special classes tomorrow morning..." Khushi picked up a night dress and was about to step inside the bathroom...

"Are you ignoring me Khushi?" Arnav asked angrily holding her hand and pulling her to him... She ended up hitting his chest hard and looked at him straight into his eyes...

"Excuse me Arnavji, I thought you were the one who is expert at it" Came a casual reply but again with a smile and no sign of pain on her face... He hated her smile by now... She is better off fighting back and angry at him than the fake smile, he knew it...

Khushi made sure neither to discuss the DNA report again nor discuss his ignorant behavior towards her unless he digs it and tries to mend things between them... Else she will wait and let him face her ignorance too until he figures out the truth!

"That is because I was angry at you for not trusting me and doing DNA test behind my back..." Arnav justified himself and unknowingly his voice raised due to frustration...

"Practice what you preach Arnavji... Isn't it ironic Arnavji, you expect me to trust you but you don't trust me at all..." Khushi replied politely with a smile...

"When did I not trust you?" Arnav asked her confused...

"Always, but right now, let's stick to the point we are discussing for now, the DNA report... What did I reply to you regarding that DNA report?" Khushi asked him calmly yet in an authoritative tone.

"That you did not do any DNA test..." Arnav specified.

"Exactly Arnavji, did you believe me when I clearly told you that I did not do any DNA test? Instead, even today you are stuck with blaming me and ignoring me... As if you always need some reason to be angry at me and ignore me... If I would have been in your place, I would have immediately checked the report with the hospital and tried to find out who really did the DNA test and why?" Spat came a reply... Khushi was on a roll as usual...

Arnav was rooted to the spot... She is so right... He missed the boat completely. Khushi never lies and she right from the beginning clearly said she never did any DNA test, he should have checked with hospital to find out who really did it... Why didn't he trust her when he expects her to trust him...? He did the same before also with Shyam and still has not learned his lesson...

"Good Night Arnavji..." Khushi knew Arnav has work cut out for himself now...

"Aman, I need you to check and validate a medical report for me tomorrow. Also hire a top private detective to look into the entire situation properly and provide report in a day or two..." Khushi could clearly hear Arnav firing instructions over phone from the pool side...

"Laad Governor in a fix... Check... Family recognizing Sheetal's true face by themselves... Check... Phew..." Khushi felt relaxed and calm...

"Let the Laad Governor do his job now and have sleepless night while I enjoy my sleep after a long time. Laad Governor in action, better late than never..." She smiled looking at Arnav still on phone calling the hospital now... Soon she fell into a deep slumber with a smile on her face!
