Chapter 3 - Khushi in Action!

Khushi walked in to see Mamiji busy in the kitchen with Anjali and they were talking about something animatedly and laughing... It was a pleasant change to see Di smiling and enjoying herself cooking in the kitchen... Anjali Di helped out Mamiji to make some evening snacks and finish off cooking dinner.

Khushi had an urgent assignment at had to finish and submit... So she rushed to her room to complete it so she can come down too...

Sheetal who has come early from work to take care of Aarav and decided to pounce on this opportunity to show ASR how Khushi is making his Di work and earn Khushi his wrath... After all she needed to take revenge for the morning!

Dinner was almost ready. Khushi finished her work and came down for a cup of tea.

"HPji, badly need a cup of ginger tea. And maybe some snack" Khushi walked in to see Di and Mamiji still in the kitchen enjoying their day cooking while her sister sitting with Naniji and eating fruits... She liked the scene...

"Khushiji, why don't you have those remaining fruits and snack from the box?" Anjali Di suggested her handing over the snacks.

Arnav and Akash were sitting with Nani at the dining table. HP prepared their coffee and served it along with tea to Nani and Khushi... Everyone else as well walked out of kitchen for snacks.

"Anjaliji, you had to cook for us today and help out Mamiji" Sheetal specifically mentioned knowing how angry ASR was this morning seeing his Di helping her out and blasted her. It was Khushi's turn now, she thought...

"Oh come on Sheetal, it's once a while that we are lucky to eat Di's excellent recipes. Isn't it Di? But this is cheating Di, I can see all items are favorite of jiji only... You and Mamiji are becoming completely partial" Khushi side hugged Anjali and teased her...

"But still Di has to work so hard..." Sheetal did not let go her point. She is in fact surprised how Khushi is using it her advantage.

"Don't worry Sheetal, we had so much fun in the kitchen after a long time. But we left you some work to cook for you and your son..." Mamiji replied as she didn't like negative comments from Sheetal especially when they are enjoying evening as a family.

"And Sheetal, very good point. Can I expect the same from you? Today morning you got up late and Di ended up helping you out. So make sure not to push Di do your work and I am glad you are concerned for her" Khushi warned Sheetal in no nonsense tone.

"And Naniji, I asked have OPji as well as his wife to help out from tomorrow onwards with overall c****s. Also requested the grocery shop to send us fresh cut vegetables daily so one less work. I don't want Mamiji to stress out with so much work... And Di, you can help in the kitchen whenever you want but no pressure" Khushi concluded shutting Sheetal off completely.

"Mamiji also needs time for her beauty rejuvenations and kitty parties... After all she is equally hot and happening... By the way Mamiji, I booked you spa massage every Wednesday at 4 pm and facial once a month with your favorite Cynthia... It's the only slot available so I booked it, hope you don't mind..." Khushi made sure not to burden Mamiji suddenly and able to relax as well...

"Haw, how did you get Cynthia's appointment for me? I have been trying for a year now... Khushi, you rock..." Mamiji was surprised and first time called Khushi, Khushi...

"I have few tricks on my sleeves Mamiji, you will enjoy... And Khushi sounds so stylish from you..." Khushi was glad to make Mamiji happy and first time called her by her name...

"Khushiji, it was really fun today. Mamiji and I had great time remembering our old days and the mess I made in the kitchen while learning cooking. I do get bored so this is great..." Anjali replied genuinely.

"Di, why don't you join Arnavji in office? You are so good at work. Maybe just half day or something. I feel you should go out and start living... It's high time we get back our Di which is so much fun and full of life... I did see glimpse of happy Di today!" Khushi put forward her thought without hesitation...

Everyone one looked at Di and Khushi. Even Arnav was surprised at Khushi's bold statement... She is somewhere right... He saw Di happy after so many days and enjoying cooking.

"You want ASR's Di to work?" Sheetal asked in a sarcastic tone...

"Why not? If ASR, Akash jiju themselves can work day in and out, why not family members? Sheetal, it's high time you stop poking your nose in our family matters. As an outsider, you should know your limits" Khushi raised her voice to shut Sheetal again. This woman needs to understand her status, Khushi thought.

"Di, it's not just about work. It's about you facing the world with your head held high, keeping yourself occupied, meeting people and enjoy life... Just give it a thought..." Khushi said while sipping her tea.

"I would love to. Khushiji, but do you think, I can? I mean..." Everyone was shocked knowing Anjali wants to start work at AR...

"Come on Di, what to fear when Khushi is here? It's decided then... You are going to office from tomorrow. Arnavji, please assign some post above you for Di in AR. And yes, if you bother her with your nonsense demands, you will have to face me... And Di, I will take you for shopping tomorrow later in the evening..." Khushi side hugged Di...

"Thanks Khushiji, orders accepted. I can't believe I can work again... I am so excited and so happy. And Chote, follow Khushiji's orders else I will complain to her about you..." Anjali also joined in...

Everyone laughed when Khushi was bossing around, taking decisions guiding family... Arnav felt immensely proud of her!

"My pleasure Di. I don't know why we didn't do this before? Akash, do you want to work with Di?" Arnav asked Akash winking at him...

"No way, she is another most horrible ASR when it comes to work... My wife being pregnant, I would prefer to work on my own and be flexible. Put Sheetal under her" Akash suggested winking back.

"Come on Akash, you love Di so much and you are Di's equally favorite..." Arnav laughed and no body else understood what is going on...

"Oh come Bhai, she used to be a monster... Even you have had rough days not as bad as me but still. Leave me alone please... Let me live life... Trust me, Sheetal will have a great time learning... She badly needs it..." Akash whispered but others heard it too...

"Chote and Akash, you still call me monster? I am so nice but just a little strict, how dare you?" Anjali asked with fake anger...

"Not at work, Di..." Spat came a reply from Akash.

"Great then it's decided... Di, join us tomorrow and Sheetal will assist you. She is new and has been assigned a project. She badly needs to jump start and I am too busy so you pitching in will help the project" Arnav confirmed and smiled back at Akash...

"But..." Sheetal tried to say something... How can I cling to Arnav now, this is going nowhere, Sheetal is hopping mad inside...

"Sheetal, let me warn you in advance. I am nobody's friend at work. I hate latecomers and clumsiness at work so you better be prepared..." Anjali talked like a boss and complete business woman...

"Thank you Khushi Bitiya, I was always worried about Anjali sitting at home whole day depressed. But you have solution for all problems. Because you truly care for everyone... You are the elder daughter-in-law I always dreamt for our Chote... And I am happy for Anjali Bitiya..." Nani put her hand on Khushi's head and blessed her... Arnav and everyone were proud of Khushi...

"I can very well manage kitchen so don't worry about it..." Mamiji encouraged Anjali to join office.

"Di's springing back into life, check... Mamiji happy check, great job Khushi... Maybe Arnavji does not realize it but Di is better off living her own life to the fullest, bounce back into real world and move on in her own life... And she will find true love and her own family instead of investing emotions on Sheetal and her kid who can be deceiving..." Khushi patted her back as usual...

Khushi had enough positive energy to keep her family together, motivated and focus on right people! She was back to enjoying her Uno numero position in the family and how family looks up to her for the solutions of any small or big problem! Phew, another one bites the dust!

Sheetal was burning with jealousy, how Khushi is again center of attention for Raizadas and control is slipping out of her hands...
