Part-1
As Kanak opened her eyes, she could feel her heart rate sinking. The beautiful voices around were deafening. That aroma of mehendi was like the worst stench ever.
' Why do I feel this way?' She groaned inwardly.
And suddenly a stray lock of hair came to rest over her nose. Since her hands were occupied she tried to blow it away but to no avail.
She closed her eyes in frustration. But when she opened them, the sight of his charming face made her heart hammer extra hard against her chest.
"Kaha tha na, tumhe khule baalon mein dekhne ka adhikaar sirf mera hai," he smiled gently tucking the lock behind her ear.
As his hand brushed against her cheek, she sighed in content.
"Kanak jijisa"
Her daydream was broken as mehendiwali asked her to see how the design looked.
Kanak sighed.
Uma's memory has been haunting her for the past few days, the day since her marriage was finalized, with someone else.
She could feel him in her every breath.
" kanak, are you OK?" Vansh asked worried.
She could only give a half hearted smile in response as her other half was miles away.

As the ladies sung at the top of their voices, he felt a throbbing pain.
" mhara uma aur bhi nikhar gya," Maasisa complimented applying haldi to his face.
He smiled to hide his pain. It was so hard to handle. His chest ached so much probably because it was mourning the loss of his heart, the heart that went missing with Kanak.
As another aunt came forward to apply haldi, he was forced to stop her hands.
" Yaha nhi," he responded.
That beautiful gift of hers was for only and only him to feel, and no one else.
'Was my crime of getting forcibly married to you this big, that you disappeared from my life without a sign or a trace?' He cursed inwardly as a lone tear trickled down his eyes.
Suman smiled seeing Palomi jiji glow under turmeric's effect. Finally things were falling back into their place.
