How do you see bongs celebrating Nobo Borsho in Australia ? Do they ? Do u visit em ? 😃

Actually I don't sadly. One of my closest friends is Bengali but from Bangladesh and she sorta interacts with me in Bangla which I obviously ruin with my horrendous grammar I mean I've never learnt it anywhere in my defense 😆 But yeah like in Durga Pooja and all she does bring me sweets and stuff and in Gujarati festivals I bring sweets for her LOL but yeah because I don't have a bengali family, we don't celebrate. I haven't seen any such celebration in Sydney as of now but JESUS HOLY CHRIST you have to see how extravagant their Puja celebrations are like seriously we had up to legit like 12-15 Pandals in the CBD which I think is fantastic! I mean of course walking in the streets of Kolkata during Puja is like maneuvering inside a jewellery box literally I mean the lights and the gorgeous pandals and everything about it! But yeah I mean every culture is so active here!

Yes Durga puja must be grand you wud see everyone wearing saree, I look such out of place with pair of jeans 😆 but I tell you this is so convenient .

When we were kids, I dont know if you had experienced this in Kolkata or not, but today on Bengali Nobo Borsho we would get free food and cold drinks whichever shops we visit 😛 😆 It's like when there was no computer etc, they would have copies/registers to maintain the balance details and today they would discard the old copies and open a new register and hence customers/visitors used to be considered as good omens or sometimes just promotional food/drinks 😛

With computers around, such sweet gestures are fast disappearing everywhere 😭 And yes, new dress was also a must there 😆
