Update October 24, 2005

Simran tells Saakshi that she is unable to recognise her voice. Saakshi is stupified to find Simran in her present situation and says that she was unaware of her condition and asks her how and when did she lose her eyes. Abhi replies and tells her that it was only very recently/ Saakshi tries to jog Simran's memory and tells her that she had met her seven years ago in Bangalore when Simran had come there for a seminar. Before Saakshi can go any further, Simran interrupts her and tells her that she remembers her very well. She was the student who sat in the first row and was full of questions at the seminar and that she had big eyes. She asks her whether she is practicing in Bangalore. Saakshi tells her that she is presently in Chicago, USA and starts crying saying that she cannot believe that Simarn has lost her eyes. Simran asks her whether her dreams were fulfilled. Saakshi ignores the question and tells Simran that she should be going as she is in Bombay only for two days and if time permits, she will come and see her again before she leaves and if there is anything that she can do for her, to please let her know. She gives the hotel card with the room number and her mobile number on it to Abhi and leaves.

In the cab, Saakshi remembers the time when Simran had gone to Bangalore for the seminar seven years ago, when she herself was a student and totally in awe of her and how she had asked her for her autograph. She also remembers the time two years later when she herself was visiting Bombay for a friend's wedding and had spotted Simran in a caf by herself and she had gone to talk to her. At that time, she tried to remind Simran of her seminar in Bangalore. Simran had asked Saakshi to join her as she was waiting for another doctor to join her who was late. Simran had inquired about her plans. Saakshi had excitedly told her that her career took precedence over marriage and she was interested in practicing in the village to help the labour class to ensure that they are given good medical facilities. Simran was quite impressed with her and had advised her that if at any time in her life a good proposal came along, she should not brush it aside else she could lose out on a good relationship and if at anytime she is able to practice in the village, she would be fulfilling Simran's own incomplete dream. Saakshi was quite impressed with Simran and had asked her whether Simran will remember her. Simran tells her that once she has seen somebody she never forgets their face.

At home, Saurabh, Abhi and Rashmi are chatting when Simran comes there. They are discussing Pranay's plans of opening a clinic in Australia and how Rashmi had refused to join him there. Simran tells her to go and be by Pranay's side. Rashmi, at Simran's insistence agrees to go.

Saakshi is at the hotel with her husband, Nakul when Nakul tells her to wear something gorgeous at the party as he wants his friends to envy them. Saakshi asks to be excused as it will be typical corporate party and she is not in a frame of mind to go to a party. Nakul is quite angry and rude with Saaskhi and tells her that she will have to attend the party as it has been thrown in their honor. He rambles on and on disgustedly about the state of affairs in India as compared to USA. Saakshi tells him that he should atleast ask her why she does not feel like attending the party and how her meeting with Simran went earlier. She then tells him that Simran had lost her eyes in a bomb blast by some terrorists which only makes Nakul hate India more. Saaskhi and Nakul end up fighting and Nakul leaves in a huff.

Urmila and Sid call Simran at home and ask her whether she has thought about which doctor they will appoint at the hospital even for a short time till the hospital is back on track. Whilst talking to them on the phone Simran feels that Saakshi would be a good choice to take charge in her absence.

Simran goes with Abhi to see Saakshi at the hotel and Simran tells Saakshi that she would like her to head the gynaecology department at her hospital, even if it be for a few months. Simran tells her that she feels and is confident that only Saakshi is capable of handling this post. Saakshi is surprised and elated at this offer but tells Simran that she is leaving for USA in two days but since it is for a few months she will discuss it with her husband and asks Simran when would she have to start. Simran is excited and says from the next day itself!

Saakshi discusses Simran's offer with her husband but the two of them end up fighting and Nakul gives Saakshi an ultimatum saying that it is either the job offer or their marriage!

At the hospital the next day all are very excited and preparing for Saakshi to take charge assuming that Saakshi would have taken up Simran's offer. Just then Saakshi comes there and tells Simran that she will not be able to take up the responsibility. Simran is shocked and asks her why. Saakshi tells her that she is unbale to go into all of that but she is going back to USA that night itself. Simran is crestfallen.
