Unlike most actresses of her age, who are not comfortable playing the role of a mother, 21-year-old Jaipur girl Jigyasa Singh has no such qualms. As daily soap Thapki...Pyaar Ki took a seven-year leap recently, Jigyasa's character Thapki is seen as a mother of two daughters, Bani and Tina. She said, "Age is just a number; I don't mind playing a mother on screen. It's the character that matters and you have to do justice to your role."

She added, "I was a little skeptical in the beginning and I thought this might affect my career. But then I realized that I will not be the first one to play a mature role - many actresses have played roles much older than their age, but they have been successful in their careers and have later scored young roles. In fact, I am glad that I will get to show my versatility to the audience."

Ever since Jigyasa signed the show, she hasn't been able to pay a visit to her hometown. She said, "My parents have shifted to Mumbai with me. I haven't got a chance to come to Jaipur ever since I moved to Mumbai. Though I miss Jaipur a lot."

Being a foodie, the actress misses Jaipur's pyaz ki kachori . She said, "My parents had visited Jaipur recently and I asked them to bring pyaz ki kachori for me. You don't get them in Mumbai."
