But what was the reason for mahek refusing to marry Shaurya, as i saw it Shaurya father had all right to slap him, he was being an ass.

IS Mahek going to put her family feeling before every decision she takes. She needs to be independent and strong if she want to survive in the working world.

Why will Mahek marry Shaurya when her family is slapped? You mean to say independence is allowing your love to be deciding factor over your loving family disrespect? Cannot agree with your pov.
