Kavya is a child, and I think the writer's aim is to show that she will grow up.
It is an excellant idea, and we can debate this in that other social forum about Indian values.
Are women who are staying home economically viable? My argument is they are. For example, can the men who are in the office wash or iron the clothes that they are wearing so well? No, housewives are the boss on that. I think that's the argument between Kavya and her elder sister, and the point has been brought out very well.
