its a love story .. that's it ... no stereotyping of religion at least ..

its like in Hollywood they cast a black character only when there needs to be a specific plot point of race ... why not have blacks in love story or action movies without the race angle .. just ordinary stories of ordinary people without harping on race or religion ..

Before posting above, you should have taken tour of middle east where strict segregation is practiced...and you say they have love stories to tell.. LOL...

Haven't watched it yet but maybe its to stray from his previous movies which showed Hindu marriage ceremonies? he probably wanted to show beauty of muslim wedding ceremony as well.

The same logic why we see *Hindu characters* in every other movie with no reference to their religion ----- !!!!!

Off topic: I remember a few months back people did direct attack on some female member asking do u have premarital sex, it is haram in Islam and all blah.
But now that their fav is doing it it not haram even with muslim characters.
